This bit is fucking ridiculus. It got me to a point where i almost ate my controller after dying for about 20th time. I tried every strategy i could think of and nothing worked. Finally i just decided to stay the fuck away from the ship at all times but also be somewhere near the thing in the middle(so basically the strategy from this video) and try killing the enemies as fast as i can. When i finally got passed it i was already a nervous wreck at that point but i was super proud of myself :D

I got a tip from wikiguides, did a bit of to & fro in the previous section & gave Marcus, Baird & Cole torque bows & a boomshot to Dom, works really well on the therons but that damn ship keeps one shotting me, I'll do this method now , thanks.

actually watched this before i did it on insane. got insanely lucky and got to the landing part on first try and just got to excited and rushed the ship and got sprayed. took like 18 tries after that hahah

I found this easier than it probably should have been....can't explain why...but I agree, planting a grenade or two where the Therons drop does help.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssss!!­!!! I finally got past this goddamn f*cking part!!! Never again -__- The way i did it was, circle around the landing with the barge om the other side while moving from cover to cover, plant grenades where the guards are dropped and i use a torque & a boomshot for this.. shot the boom from behind the pillar and if ur lucky it will take out both guards, once empty switch to lancer an use the torque on the rest then follow the vid for when the barge lands

Also make sure you 'spot' enemy it actually really helps because your team focuses all their fire power on that target, so if the boomshot doesnt kill both spot the other guard an get out of of the barge.. hope this helps! Gave up yesterday an tried this today, took me 4 tries! :D

I feel like any time you need this much pure luck to pass, there is something fundamentally broken in the gameplay. This part probably killed me on insane difficulty more than I was killed in the entire game on hardcore.

Very nice guide. It seems from the vids I've seen of this that you have to just trust in that central pillar and not try anything too fancy. Just keep circling and shooting with lady luck behind you! This is such a horrible scenario!

Just one quick tip:

There is no real strategy to this. However, there is like a white piece of cloth hanging above the elevator. Just make sure that that thing is right between you and the turrets. Don't use the middle pole as a reference, because if you get very far away from it, both turrets will be able to shoot at you.

The first time i tried this, the rockets randomly stopped shooting at me after about the 3rd or 4th Palace Guard drop! O.o i think the bots might have done something to the rocket turrets! Either way, this is a good strategy, but so far that damn barge still gets me every time!

Those random missiles.. There's a couple of time he was lucky in this vid. If I stayed in range of the barge and not in cover for 2 seconds I would get blown up every time! And him not picking up those torque bows on the floor is just him making things harder for him. But I honestly think one NEEDS some luck to beat insane solo, so it is a good vid. I had a full torque bow, a lancer and two incendiary grenadess and I still died 30ish times by those rockets shooting me or the floor next to me.

Thank you so much, this part gave me quite a bit of trouble. I've got a couple things that seemed to work well, torque bow the guards as soon as they drop off, break the wooden crate on the side opposite of the lever so they can't hide be hind it, picking up a meat shield seems to be VERY effective, and use the boomshots they drop well.

Cheers for the tips dude, your advice worked perfectly for me. I know exactly what you mean by that huge fear you have when the Barge finally docks and a shitload of Therons come off with their Torque bows. I agree with what a lot of people have said, it's not a great piece of game design - there's a line between a challenge and cheapness..

It may have been coincidence.but i managed to use one of the Theron's as a meat shield and i didn't get hit once.

It probably took me about 40 deaths to get this freaking one. It circles 4 times and drops 1-2 guards twice in each wave. From what I saw they started with gnashers, then retro lancers, tourque bows and finally boom shots. Like in the video keep circling or you will be screwed. My biggest annoyance, other than the one shot bull, was my dumb ass AI teammates kept throwing smoke grenades so I could never see the damn guards. This part sucks and hopefully it gets better!

lancer or retro lancer is your best bet, but it wont kill half as fast. if you see a theron with one, grab it quick. alternatively someone on your team might have one, so steal it off them.

I'm just comforted to know other people are getting fucked as hard as I am. Been running a sequence around cover in the middle (metal crates to pullies), and it works, but you have to time everything perfectly. If you stay out of cover for a moment too long, it'll target where you just were (MISSING YOU) and the splash will get you.

Been trying to get as many pre-charged torque shots in on landing guards as I can. Cover and pray.

This was so frustrating. What worked for me was to arm all my teammates with Torque Bows and Diggers or Boomshots before this fight. Keep "spotting" the guards and stay to the outside, but not too far outside. ALWAYS make sure the barge is not visible and at your twelve o'clock. There's a lot of luck involved. Once it finally lands, just get cover and don't move forward until everyone but that dick on the turret is clear. Follow the Seraphim17's guide for how to take him out carefully.

I know people watching this video may not've picked up frags. But I find the best loadout is Frags, Digger and Hammerburst (it'll headshot most infantry Locust) I just did this part by keeping myself out of the line-of-sight of both canons while using the Digger, planted Frags and Hammy.

lol been playing this on insane for the past 20 mins ripping my hair out. I watched your video and did it first time. I don't know whether it was so much the advice, but listening to you taking the piss out of it made me giggle and play it not so pissed off. Thank you! haha.

All I did was follow it round but keep moving never stop until it starts to drop 2 enemies, then you just go straight into cover at the outside center pillar and pick them off. Rinse/repeat.

Great Video! That is one of the most aggravating levels ever. It definitely was a lot easier on Hardcore. I made sure 2 of my guys had Torque Bows and that Dom had the Boomstick from the shack on the right near that first door. I found that combo worked the best. I had the Bow and the Hammerburst. But your way of staying on the outside and hidden worked the best. Keep up the good work!!!
