  • Nice work Brian. Please continue this series on your bobber. It's a sweet bike. I can imagine blowing off all sorts of important shit to get out and ride it. I just traded an '80 xs650 to a friend who wouldn't otherwise be able to get a bike. I like the dimensions of your bike. It looks long and lean, not short and squirmy like other bobbers I've seen. I'm gonna pull the trigger on a sweet '74 xs650 this week. It's a cafe style bike, but is otherwise original and in nice shape.

  • nice bike man, i wana build a 650 bobber with ape hangers soon but a crappy job is preventing me from it, which sucks.

  • good stuff man I don't got me a bike but i'm lookin to build one this summer. If you could suggest CH3ap ways to build a good looking bike that'd be rad

  • Nice work man. Check out my vids for my CB 360 build. I just bought a lot of parts and got a hacked xs650 hardtail that I'm really excited about.

  • Hey you still have the bike???

  • How much for the bike??

  • Out of all 650 yamaha's I looked at Iliked yours the best it looks very rideable great job . Jim

  • ZEN X INFINITY

  • These are bad, but can you get engine an trans parts?

  • Hey I built a XS650,it was a good project many parts available and fun to ride when it was done,my only regret is that I sold it,buyers remorse, sellers remorse,DAM IT,your videos helped keep me going when I was not in the mood to cut, grind, and paint,THANKS

  • Clumsy, search xs650 wiring diagram on google. There's probably 10 simplified diagrams. Also join xs650.com there will be all the help you'll ever need in there.

  • Love the bike and video! I just picked up an 81 xs650. All I have to do is wire it up. Which is proving to be pretty difficult. Any tips on just making it a kick start.

  • nice looking bike! did you make it so long on purpose?

  • what's the comfortable crusing speed on this bike and where does it max out?

  • WHo plays the song for the background tunes on this?

  • thats great kid as long as your in the wind

  • I love your bike and I love your video. Hey I was wondering. Did you video this around the 600 block of East Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis? I think I recognise it. Ok, I'm joking. I've never been there in my life but I did find it on Google Maps. Minneapolis looks like a cool place to ride.

  • Awesome man. Keep it up.

  • very nicely seed my friend i love bikes one day i hope to have one of my own so i can bang around ahahah your the man in my book.

  • My favorite video on youtube, loved it last year. Loved it even more after seeing it was made in the Twin Cities. The topic of basement builds is a great one, and I would really like to see more videos like this. I've got 90% of my laundry room build done.... just waiting on a new wiring harness before a few hipsters in Uptown get an ear-full from my XS.

  • i saw this video a few days ago ............and today im lookin on craigslist and what do i see......hahahahaha......sure wish i had the money to buy your bike ......

  • hey MIKEY from Orange County Choppers!

  • And you listen to Hank! Alright!

  • Great attitude man , I have built a few too and am no pro- it's not rocket science .

It is really fun and satisfying but mainly if you are enjoying the progress you make then thumbs up. Who wants to be a pro anyways - you just eventually sellout and everything that once had soul or purpose is lost. Thumbs up to you dude , cool bike there~

  • I LIKE YOUR PHILOSOPHY!!

  • What brand helmet is that?

  • KOOL VID AND KOOL SONG CHOICE...PUT UP SOME MORE VIDS ON YOU BUILDING.IM PLANNING ON DOIN MY XS650 AND IM TRIIN TO GET AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE.

  • Like the video man! What size front and back wheels did you use?

  • Way Cool! I feel so sorry for all those freaks with Harley brain rot syndrome!

  • Chopper sculpted FLAME TANKS....proflamecyclescom

  • I don't know which I like best....your bike or your video. Well done on both endeavers. You don't have to spend a fortune to have a great ride. I built an Indian bubble fender looka-like on my wifes Hondamatic. The bike got more attention then our Harleys.

  • whats the song?

  • @doubletapm4 Ramblin' Man - Hank Williams

  • Good video, great job on the bike!!

  • ha the first shot is fricking awesome................

love this bikes stance and your metalic green lid haha.....

  • brilliant bike,you did a good job

  • i love this

  • is that the stock tank?

  • just bought my first xs 650 and am building it in my two bedroom apt in oregon your video I found to be both inspirational and also encouraging nice moon racing sticker by the way my family is into the hotrods and rockabilly world. do you have any aftermarket or performance engine parts in your machine that you might recommend to a fellow xs 650 owner? seems like you have no problem overtaking anything. will post a pre build rolling chassis walk around on here soon come by and check it out!

  • awsome bike bro. ive been wanting to build one myself for a long while.

  • Thanks man. You inspired me. Just picked up a 1971 Honda SL350 and a CL350. Between the two bikes I should be able to put together something fun this winter.....Stay tuned.

  • I found a pic of you riding your bike on google and saved it cause i love the bike hoping to start one this winter.

  • wicked ride man !

  • awesome

  • Brian.....this thing is awesome!

  • Nice bike, just got the parts in to get my xs650 going. what is the name of that song you have on your video?

  • Great looking bike. You kept the lines going for a retro track/dragger bike instead of the crap bag look that so many mess up XS650's and CB750's throwing ape hangers and jacked front ends on them without stretching the frame work which makes them look like the lawnmower powered minichoppers that they used to sell at Advance auto. Anyway, sorry for the venting, great bike. Driving to VA tomorrow to pick up a XS and cant wait to start cutting, lining up, and welding on it. Keep up the great work.

  • Very nice! I love the simplicity of it!

  • You are my new hero!

  • Beautiful bobber. I haven't hadd experiance building bikes, but how much would building a bobber like this one be?

  • Yea its cool bike and it is great that you build him, but i must admit it is a lame video......bdw nice work

  • Brian, you represent exactly what the roots of this hobby are all about, most guys don't have the budget for an expensive pro-build. I like your style.

  • @benorthup bingo

  • Nice skooter. Just built my third. Used to ride a harley but got tired of the billet skull dorks and built one to be different and now I have a lot more money left over for beer and ammo. Havin a blast

  • NORDEAST!!!!

  • NORDEAST..................

  • nice bike, did you use the stock tank?

  • very very very nice bike.

can you tell me what is the name of the songi in your video?

  • Nice work.. Simple. Raw. Fun...I'm inspired!...bought an 83' yesterday, Thanks brother.....

  • very very very nice bobber!!!

    good song

can you write the name of the song please.

  • Very well done bike and video!

  • those look like deluxe champions. and how does the stopping handle without the brakes on the front?

  • great bike.....i am trying to build the same sought of bike and love the look and was woundering if you could give me the dimensions of your frame and info on the motor......it would be greatly appreciated thanks........

  • @82rastas

stock xs650 frame and motor w/ a tcbros hardtail. Nothing exact about it. No detailed engineering. Just line up pieces until they look right.

  • @electricchurch666 do you have a build thread on a site? I love your bike, someone locally is selling an XS with TC Bros hardtail already done, yet it looks way shorter and has no where near the long stance your bike has. What wheels do you have by the way? Thanks for the cool video the bike looks great!

  • @electricchurch666 hey bro i just looked up that tcbros hardtail. idk much about bobbers or motorcycles in general. so what does the hard tail do? just extend the bike longer? or is there more too it? just curious cause im gona buy a xs650 soon and slowly make it my own creation. just trying to learn a thing or two. and are those the stock forks too?

  • i know the hard tail converts it from shocks to straight metal frame. so just need to know if theres any benefits other than it being a hard tail, longer overall bike, fit wider tires, ect....

  • @seanmurray90 Making one of these bikes a hardtail doesn't do anything 'good' as far as performance goes. It actually makes the bike less comfortable and probably less safe. The reason a lot of people make 'rat bobbers' into hard tails is that it will greatly lower the seat height as well as make the bike a 'rigid' and rigids are cool. If you want your bike to look like his, you pretty much need to hack off the rear end of your bike, take out the shocks and fabricate your own rear end

  • NORDEAST!!!!

  • NORDEAST!!!!

  • @82rastas great song nice bike way to go brother see ya at the joint or the flood run???

  • nice bike

  • pretty cool scoot man,

  • I think I am gonna try to build a nice little xs650 bobber.

I have never been mechanical but Its time to learn and I really want a bike to ride around.

This video has inspired me so much also.

  • great vid Bri. spent last winter in the garage buildin my xs chop over here in the uk ,rode it this week for the first time in a while with a big cheesy grin on me face .its the best feelin in the world chillin at 60 knowin that wot ya ridin has been built by ya own hand ,twist the throttle open some more an the grin gets bigger !! stay cool dude .

    -Cheers

  • Wow, with your helmet on you look just like me! Love the bike and the vid. Keeps me going on MY xs650 project when I feel I 've run out of steam.

  • Sweeeeeeeet !!!

  • nice job brian....

  • I return to this vid from time to time. I like it.

  • Brian, great vid of the bike you've built.

    You did good

     chop on!

  • does your bike have vibrating issues? if so have you have found any way to fix it that didn't require balancing the motor?

  • nice bike bro. i just bought 2 complete '81 specials for $200 and in the 3 days i have owned them i stripped one to bare frame and waiting on fedex for my tc hard tail now so i can move forward. will post pics and vid thru build

  • nice video,cool bike

    cheers from germany

  • nice bike go with MQQN!!!! i saw the little decal haha

  • awesome bike man! is that hardtail ridable? I just picked up an 78 xs650 and am going for that nostalgic bobber feel, but want something that won't shake me to death!

  • i own a HARLEY but really look forward to finishing my kz 750t build. good job!

  • vary nice i wish i had a bike again. I am not one of those die hard HD fans sure there nice but you built this for $500 after it was all said and done. And building the bike is half the fun and gives you the feeling of pride and ownership.WELL DONE ...IT'S MAKES ME JEALOUS......My first bike was 250.00 but it was a1973 Honda 50 trail bike and i was 9 years old

  • Thanks :)

  • what seat are you using brian?

  • Comment removed

  • who sings the song and what is the name of the song

  • That's Hank Williams singing "Ramblin Man"

  • I like the video & song

  • Cool video and bike! what type of gas tank do you have on it? also nice choice in song Hank rules!

  • you got more?!

  • exactly, its not about spending a fortune out of a magizine. Real bobbers are garage built. Nice build Brian.

  • Hi Brian!

    great bike, nice sound,

we are now working on our first project...

    "Eochile Moto Club"

  • love the bike and the song

  • Whats not to love about this machine! Love it....

  • Dang it now i'm gonna have to build a hardtail xs.

  • Nice bike also nice to see that some people still appreciate real country music

  • Great Attitude Brian!!! You and i think the same. Its easy to buy a bunch of crap n chrome from a magazine or store and put it together. To me a good amateur or pro bike builder is someone who can build and creat on a budget. I started building bobbers 2 years ago with the philosophy of keeping each one under 1500 cost. Since i have built 3 hardtails all around 1000 bucks(working on #4). It is the best therapeutic money I have ever spent!!! Keep up the good work and thanks for the wiring tips.

  • Where did you get and what kinda frame???

  • do you have a website, or a way to view more of this bike? I am really interested in your design. I have a '79 that I am building and would love to see the little details you got happening here.

  • i never want it to end. so sick

  • its clean

  • Great job Brian. You have the right attitude. Keep building and thanx for the links.

A bit more info on the steps of the build would be great for everyone to see. If you could add to this it would make a really great vid.

    Good riding to you.
