Thanks for your comment Pacepertutti. I didn't mean to insult anyone. The Reference 'What have the Romans ever done for us' is a Joke from the British Monty python film The life of Brian. I was not being serious at all. I think every one pretty much knows that Rome was a village when egypt was a great empire.
I didn't know that about Carthage though.
Sorry it backfired. I'll be more carefull in future.
Ps - In case some of you have seen the film and think its an insult to jews (because jews speak it in the film) - it isn't . The phrase is about the British and their constant complaining about anything. The weather, the goverment, why the trains don't run on time etc. - just to clear that up- you have to be British to understand it. My friends all thought it was funny.
Great Improvisation Andy(your sax is a little of pitch but I think that's due to the temperture in the clock workshop,I think that wasn't easy in the cold)Like the Images alot, that must be a totally other Culture, liked all those historic places.
At the end you where getting deep in that improvisation, very good, all the best Vic.
Thanks Victor. Yes Saxophones are designed to be in tune at room temperature. It was about 0c. I was also playing with a new reed that was a little to hard. Also Im not use to playing in 3/4. I think my songs quite nice though.
The Referece of " What have the romans done for us "
Wouldn't have been made if the person who added it understood the History of the province of Africa modern day Tunisia
The reference should read " what have our ancestors done for us "
Because It wasn't Rome that Civilised Africa, but Africa who civilised Rome, Carthage was a metropolis long before there was any Rome.
Colour Mozaics, Baroque sculpted architecture ..etc were all invented in Africa.
And many Africans Emperos ruled rome
