I would love to hear the first version of this song. When I first heard it, off the album "Freedom" I was underwhelmed. (For Mr. Young that's not all that bad.) Then I heard a live bootleg version from the internet that blew me away-almost a totally different song. I guess this is just one of those songs that need to played live and when the muse is telling you it's right, otherwise it's just filler.

probably one of my personal favourite neil young songs. i love the acoustic recording and i love this electric version. im actually seeing neil young tonight in toronto at the acc -gonna be a great show, i hope he plays this song.

Dunno why he ever changed this to electric. Anyone who has heard the original recording way back when it was supposed to be on Chrome Dreams back in the 1976 will tell you it was just utterly gorgeous in it's original acoustic form.

@stina20a no he made a quote in an interview to that effect though. after he made the album "harvest" he said "i was afraid my career was becoming middle of the road, so i decided to drive my car off the road and into a ditch".
