  • I don't think Elton plays this one live anymore, but when you've had as many hits as he has, you could play 50 songs and no one would notice this one being missing.

  • I was named after this song. :)

  • Sir Elton hit #3 in Billboard, 7-19-80. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed week!

  • his old stuff is just tremendous....and this one always makes me think of my sister Jean....I don't get to see her that often....:( except for that I want you to be my acrobat/lover part...I don't want my sister to be either of those...LOL

  • can´t get enough of this guy! bravo elton!

  • I LOVE this song!!!

  • This classic reminds me of the the boy i love and how he gives me sooooo much strength. He has the heart of a lion :)

  • Me faz lembrar da radio cidade fm, locutor sandoval ELE GOSTAVA MUIITO DESTA CANÇÃO TOCAVA DIRETO, BONS TEMPOS!!!!

  • If songs were food, "Levon" would be juicy roasted turkey and gravy, and this one would be strawberry jello in little cup on a tray. Not a bad thing, really, if you've just had major surgery or are stuck in a tiny seat at 30,000 feet.

  • This SINGLE is not available on Itunes. Nor the 21 at 33 album. WTF ?

  • @BlueEyeDarkSky Most likely the CD is out of print So is The Fox which has my favorite Elton son Chloe. Try a used music store

  • Boo Hiss. Just got back from Sir Elton John's concert in Honolulu and it was so totally freakin awesome. This is his only hit that he didn't play!!!

  • @DeathBloodGore I refuse to answer that question without my lawyer present.

  • NO LO PUEDO CREER LA ENCONTRE LLEVO AÑOS BUSCANDOLA NO SABIA NI L NOMBRE.....GRACIAS POR SUBIRLA.....Y GRACIAS AYOUTUBE

  • I once met a girl named Genie

pulled off her pants and she had a weenie.

  • THE BEST!!!!!!!!

  • I used to insert the name of that little cute girl from high school into this song. Instead of "Little Jeannie" it was "Little Dee Dee"!

  • always loved Elton john's music. This track is very special. I wish he was straight!

  • This song made me cry the first time I heard it. Such power behind something so simple.

  • Elton John is the number one singer...from Sanjay S

  • I love this song..

  • It's 2011 and this is still one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard!!!!!!!!Still one of my favorites!!!!!! He has the most beautiful voices ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • After searching for 43 years I've finally found my Little Jeannie! I can so relate to this song now more than ever before! I've always loved this song but not on the same level that I do now!!!!!!

  • OH ALI

  • ETOH sucks

  • LITTLE ALI

  • Your post made me teary eyed. May your dad rip.

  • The year this song came out my dad took me on a seven week long trip back east by car. It was a a regular Griswold style vacation (minus the drama) where we saw all there was to see, big and small. This was a big part of the "soundtrack" of that trip. He died of cancer a couple of years later, and when he was sick he had me make a playlist album of that trip and it comforted him. This song was one of his favorites and it makes me tear up in a bittersweet way every time I hear it.

  • sometimes a bunch sefish self centered lil jerks need a slap ! the song is NOT about you! it's about better people you li'ljerks

  • jeannie pharmacy tech are u still in bloomington? do you have a stinky butt? did CVS/pharmacy move? 2nd St I believe drive thrus suck. you want fries with that?

  • This song could be the 80s equivalent of "Daniel". Simiar sort of sound.

  • Elthon come to Perú! pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • all I can see in my mind when I listen to this song is my son Wyatt doing flips and gymnastics in family room!!!!!!!

  • bring it on papparazi but be prepared to be cussed out!!!!! :)

  • papparazi are worse than hell weirdo

  • this song reminds me of my son Wyatt Beckham Stone 7 years old. he is my little acrobat

  • Awsome. takes me to a happy place when I was a kid. almost like Daniel pt2 with sax

  • Elton probably admires Leo Sayer, and I'd imagine Leo Sayer is influenced by Elton. Leo Sayer wrote songs for Roger Daltrey's solo albums in the 70s before When I Need You and his own hits.

  • Sometimes the reason a song is a personal favorite of someones is more than just lyrics...sometimes its a feeling or a sound of an instrument when I have sayed on numerous occasions that this is in the top 3 songs of all time...I am speaking of my own personal favorite top 3 songs of all times. I often have a hard time deciding if Lucy in the Sky by Lennon and John is better but I love them both and I thank God for Sir Elton John his music definitely makes the world much better.

  • "You stepped into my life from a bad dream, making the life that I had seem suddenly shiny and new." Love that part ...

  • I'm not an Elton fan but this brings back good memories when I was much younger watching my brother building a side car in the shed on a rainy day with this song playing in the back ground :)

Amazing what memories come flooding back..

  • I'm not an Elton fan but this brings back good memories when I was much younger watching my brother building a side car in the shed on a rainy day with this song playing in the back ground :)

  • beautiful

  • que cancion tan agradable de escuchar

  • LINDA MÚSICA!!!

  • Elton John is one of the finest singers ever. There are few good covers of his songs. Too hard to match him.

  • I thought this was an early 70's song? surprised to see it was recorded in the 80's

  • the melody of this song is almost the same as the tune, "When I need you" am I hearing things?

  • Elton gives so much to a song--some of my favorite music are Elton John songs.

  • A wonderful song that reminds me of a wonderful time in my life.

  • "and I've known quite a few" -- brilliant, love it, love him, love his music

  • This is for you my dear old friend and Sista...Jeanne.

  • LOVE elton john's late 70's(from Philadelphia freedom) to early 80's(Guess thats why they call it thje blues) music period..great stuff and it also strongly brings back pre teen and early teenhood yr memories

  • @ythorsen1 HERMOSAS PALABRAS,YO AMO LA NITIDEZ CON QUE FLUYE TAN CANDIDA CANCIÓN

  • you stepped into my life on a bad dream. Making the life that I had seem suddenly shiney and blue.

  • One of my all-time favourite tracks and a very popular, rather forgotten gem from Elton. Always remember this most memorable track, and has stuck with me ever since it came onto the charts, funnily enough I was only about 4 or 5.

  • reminds me of my last semester or summer session in college, i just wanted to end, thx for the add, good memories

  • This is a good song, but Elton rarely sings this in concerts compared to others. Anyone know why? Songs that have had less charting success than this one (US #3) are played more often. So it can't be due to popularity. Could it be because the lyrics were not written by Taupin?

  • @ronsin1976 Elton's concert choices have always been interesting. Blue Eyes is one he regularly performs and that was written with Gary Osborne so I guess it can't be because it wasn't written with Taupin. Maybe because it sounds so much like Daniel, which is a song he often does perform.

  • Magical music.

  • WHAT IS SHE 12

  • PERHAPS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER WRITTEN ,JUST LIST TO KEY BOARDS AND THEN THE LYRICS SEEYA TIM

  • I love this song!! Thanks for posting. We Post all the classic Oldies at my channel

TOMA'S TIMELESS TUNES, over 1500. I hope you'll stop by and give a listen. I subscribed to your channel. Hope you can do the same. hope to see you there soon. Thank you. Tommy Toma

  • They don't make lyrics like this anymore. Sad

  • my fave Elton song along with Yellow Brick Road

  • takes me back............so there I go!!

  • Little Jeannie & Baby Brother Smith, I miss you in this life.. Mum is back to the house. Come to me. Full Circle & God Speed.

  • Interesting to hear so many love this song - it's long been an EJ fave of mine, but I thought I was an oddball in that regard. Personally, this song broke a drought of EJ mediocrities for me. I always felt like his career's hgh pt was the mid 70's (Cap'n Fantiastic album) and this was the first really great song following that period. Maybe the last really great pop song he released - has had a few ok efforts since this one, but nothing to match this and 70's material.

  • THIS SKATE IS FOR COUPLES ONLY....

  • Who was the lyricist, do you know perchance?

  • @Lottabean It was Gary Osborne (no relation to Ozzy)... It wasn't Bernie Taupin.

  • @Lottabean Gary Osborne penned the lyrics for this song - I believe EJ and Bernie had parted ways at this point.

  • Gah, goo.

  • @mysticalwind72 You have great taste in music, btw were you born in 72 ? What a great year lol :)

  • @mysticalwind72 A girl named Jeannie pick me up hitch-hiking today after work, and I have been singing it and trying to remember the lyrics but now listening to it in full is so much more like the dream she was.

  • @mysticalwind72 This is a great song and Elton is a great singer, but, I would not even put this song in his top three.

  • awwwh my mom used to hold me when i was a baby and dance to this<3 miss you mom<3

  • @delhigal97 If you lost your mum my heart aches for you :(

What a great song to remember her by.

  • Excellent song....

  • pt 2 7) TPS He's So shy and 80 Smokey's Crusin

  • The thing I liked about EJ is he didn't self hate like MJ. england is more socially acceptable more tolerant and more well mannered and well polished than america(we in america DEFINITELY have no right to throw stones until we can be half as good as the brits and french) so until then everybody needs to just STFU...And look it Elton's alive happy and so in love for years...his mission is still not over...Michael burned into tiny pieces of charcoal somewhere in the fires of hell..

  • @entertainme3000 wow, are you God? I thought only God could judge a person. All you know about MJ is what you have been told my the media. Unless, you knew him personally? Did you? I don't think so, so why dont you keep your ignorant comments to yourself!!

  • @wizarddave85 THANK YOU YES ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE PEOPLE I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENT

;) M J WAS THE GREATEST RECORDING ARTIST OF ALL TIME (IMO)

  • 1980?!? I thought it was 70s era song, I don't know if early, mid, or late. I guess I was wrong.

  • Go straight to 1980 with this magical song.

He could have 5 greatest hits compilations n' still forget some

    like this.

  • Wow, such a beautiful song---the vocal, keyboard works, backup vocals, horn works...Was there a real known Little Jeannie, anyone out there know, and is she still living? Thanks again, J.E.!!!

  • As a twelve-year-old refugee from Vietnam going to school in Sacramento, CA in 1980, this song brings many beautiful and fond memories into my soul; the things we do as well as witness as children through songs and dances can bring everlasting life treasures for years to come...Thank you, oh, so much, John for those priceless memories!!!
