Obviously, it was quite effective, as it had everyone talking about it. Also, please do watch the video AGAIN, and watch PAST the end credits (as with all of my videos) to see the out takes -- do you know how DIFFICULT it was to keep a straight face while filming this? Of course I know 'cool' was not in a thermal context!

I didnt think it was very funny until the half way through, i did start to enjoy it at that point. A few interesting points, expecially when she buys the wrong computer. Also, the notes at the end are good.
add a high capacity battery, high res screen, and some low end video editing software to any dell or hp and the price delta stops looking so big.sure macs come with a relatively small amount of ram(2gigs vs 3 or 4), they also don't need as much. leopard uses half the ram of vista, and tiger is even more frugal.the only problem i have with apple is the tiny hard drives that come with their computers. 160gb hard drive? what is this, 2004?also, apple uses the geforce 9400 instead of intel gma 4500.

um, over 80% of laptops use integrated graphics. i used hp and dell, because they are the two largest pc manufacturures(aside from acer, who's laptops are not user configurable).mac laptops have much longer battery life then the average pc, that is why you need to buy a extended 12 cell batery. an hp dv3 configured with a p7350, 9cell batery, led backlit screen, and a geforce g105 gpu(40nm version of 9400) costs $1131.99. thats WITH a $150 rebate. thats $132 MORE then a macbook.

Two very short comments. She says "guys" because she is using the northwest [especifically WA] slang. It is for both sexes, but your are right the commercial should not only address all people in the US but in the world.
2. She says MAC Store because it is a chain that sells apple products in OR and WA. Again, this was a bit egotistic of Microsoft because they should have consider that it is a local chain. And she entered an Apple Store, not a MAC Store.

add a high capacity battery, high res screen, and some low end video editing software to any dell or hp and the price delta stops looking so big.sure macs come with a relatively small amount of ram(2gigs vs 3 or 4), they also don't need as much. leopard uses half the ram of vista, and tiger is even more frugal.the only problem i have with apple is the tiny hard drives that come with their computers. 160gb hard drive? what is this, 2004?also, apple uses the geforce 9400 instead of intel gma 4500.

what do all dell and hp branded pc's use the same video card? really man. and your talking about laptops, their jokes me, way too expensive, even for pc's. um, over 80% of laptops use integrated graphics. i used hp and dell, because they are the two largest pc manufacturures(aside from acer, who's laptops are not user configurable).mac laptops have much longer battery life then the average pc, that is why you need to buy a extended 12 cell batery. an hp dv3 configured with a p7350, 9cell batery, led backlit screen, and a geforce g105 gpu(40nm version of 9400) costs $1131.99. thats WITH a $150 rebate. thats $132 MORE then a macbook.

Even if everything said and done in this commercial is true, the only thing it would have proven is that macs are more expensive than PC's.
Saying that macs suck is a subjective comment, and most likely, you (nor I) have any idea how a Mac works.

I was the first person to have the balls to fight Alfred about his silly sayings on the Microsoft commercial. I talked to him and realize what he said was just a joke. I didn't see he was laughing at the end... anyways the microsoft ads make their point like it or not.. nothing stupid about them.

Oh for godsake, I say 'guys' all the time to refer to a generic bunch of people, and I'm not even American.
I'm no Mac or PC fanboy either, but I liked the ad. I liked the focus on the most significant factor - price, and I liked how that comment slightly diffused the Apple smugness with a little self-deprecation.
It's a nice, clean, simple ad, that I think a lot of *mainstream consumers* would be able to relate to, with the setting of an everyday shopping experience.
(I own a 2009 17" MBP.)

Two very short comments. She says "guys" because she is using the northwest [especifically WA] slang. It is for both sexes, but your are right the commercial should not only address all people in the US but in the world.
2. She says MAC Store because it is a chain that sells apple products in OR and WA. Again, this was a bit egotistic of Microsoft because they should have consider that it is a local chain. And she entered an Apple Store, not a MAC Store.
