The FIA have ruined rallying with their media freindly (i.e. money making) policies.

Vatenen, Toivenen, Blomqvist, Mouton, Rohl, Schwartz, Kankunnen et al entertained us with their endurance as much as their skill in these brutal machines, compared to todays 'F1 on gravel' marketing crap

@CharlieWhiskey63 Don't forget Timo Salonen who was also an all time great (maybe a bit chunky for a race driver) but could drive to the limit. I read one of his interviews a few years back and he claimed the 205T16 Evo2 could max out 620hp without any problem with over 3.0bar of boost. The pug engineers asked their drivers if they wanted anymore power in the car and they all said 'no thanks, we have enough already!' 205T16 was all Jean Todt's idea. You can see the F1 in the car in the layout.

Well modern WRC cars have been quicker than the B-class for over 10 years now, but I agree that there will never be another B-class :)

Fantastic car and driver. Back then you wanted to watch rally 24 hours per day. Now i don't really care (allthough Loeb has broken every record) even if modern cars suppose to be equally fast and much safer. Where has the thrill of these days gone?

WRC until 2010 was a good formula, but they need more commitment from car's manifacturers...

Broup B is nowadays unfeasible.

Personally I don't agree with 2011 WRC regulations.

@herencnecht I would dispute this about the S4 being a better car. Everyone that knows anything about Group B knows the S4 had twin induction, but the T16 Evo2's had a turbocharger that was really from an F1 car and in past interviews with the designer of the T16 Jean Todt has claimed it could max 800hp if required. Even Timo Salonen used to run his at 620 at times when needed. I like the S4, but the 205 was better and it's record proves that fact.

Locquenoz i 100% agree with your comment. The WRC needs Group B and fast. With much better crowd control and car safety these beasts should be back in the Championship. S2000 cars are a joke. Hopefully with Jean Todt as the head of the FIA he might change things as he was part of the 205T16 but i doubt it. If the FIA will not someone else should

all we can do is pray,hoping that they realize that WRC has lost its charming....we know group B is too dangerous...but that 20 years ago..now..with all the crazy technology we have i believe they can come up with something..WRC still have hope
