Sky was losing to Crossmen and Freelancers in 88, Dutch Boy had never lost to Crossmen all summer. Sky thought they'd end up in 14th or 15th and it seemed that DB was in for sure. Hmmmmmmmm..........
True, Crossmen beat us like three times...we went back and forth with Freelancers just about every other night. Dutch Boy and Sky Ryders did not meet until Semifinals. We just happened to have a good draw and a hot, hot performance after 6 days of cleaning.
@banjotire Having marched DB it was like fighting one another back then with the scroes. These corps can make any top 12 dci today with the show we had back then. Crossmen, Freelancers, Sk and DB it seems like it was all ways a fight between these corps with the scores. But DB was suppose to be in couple of years and they always hate on us because we were from Canada.
What ever happened to The Skyriders? I've just retired from the Navy after 24 years, spent a lot of time overseas, missed a hell of lot of Drum Corps over the years. I liked their sound and even the look! where are they now?
@oldschooldrumcorps they went bankrupt moved to texas and then went bankrupt again and that was the end of the sky ryders isaw this whole show on them on tv
centennial high school AZ's band director was in this show and now this year we are performing the same show but the display is different not the music though and after seeing this show we are all trying to work to it
Oh, by the way, I asked about that cadence and he said that it was either a variation on or tribute (or something) to a "311" cadence that you wrote out (I think that's right). Hey said he had to "show some love for ma' boy!". It's a really cool cadence, too. Grooves really well and it has the SkyFunk lick at the end.
I love the Muslim guy in pit. :) It really shows how diverse drum corps is.
