Battlecomps breaks are great. ...except the cost! Its hard to justify $220 on a AK break! Thats a LOT of money! I wish they'd drop their prices, i'd buy them for all my rifles, which in the long run is me giving them more money.
Man how I wish I had a place like that to shoot. Here in Florida we only have small gun ranges operated by the range Nazis that forbid any kind of fun.
Hey does anyone know what brand those gloves that he's wearing are because I want some good shooting gloves in coyote tan just like those. Thanks ahead of time !
There is a spring loaded nut on the front sight post that secures muzzle devices in place. The nut will be seated in the groove of the muzzle device. Most aftermarket brakes will come with a crush nut to ensure the best possible fit.
@IronFox102 i know that but I was wondering if you need to loc-tite it as well. The reason I ask is because I took mine off, put it back on but it managed to wiggle loose during rapid fire and flew off at the range. It damaged the threads to the barrel some so before I put another one on I wanted to find out if you use loc-tite. Guess the answer is no. I can't find info on this anywhere online. Thanks
180 dollars for a muzzle brake?! You've got to be shitting me. Compare it to an AK 74 style brake you can get for about 15 dollars and i bet you there is no significant difference in muzzle rise. Overpriced snake oil.
I'm assuming this acts as a flash hider as well? It's certainly more effective as a brake, but I'd want some flash suppression on a fighting rifle, which was always a problem with traditional AK brakes--Soviet battle doctrine would rather sacrifice you to get a couple more shots off.
Thank God! So happy someone else is doing AK stuff now. The only other options as far as videos, has been Gabe. I like him, but his attitude gets old, and he does some iffy stuff. Finally someone with some real world experience teaching!
Hey Travis, I was wondering since the results between the Battle Comp AKBC, and the Primary Weapon Systems FSC47 breaks were pretty much the same, which would you say felt more controllable? I have the Slant on my MAK-90, and the A2 Birdcage on the Yugo RPK. I would like to upgrade the MAK permanently.
Thanx Brother, Great Job with Haley Strategic, see you at NOLATAC Firearms Training for the Kalash Class! -MrSKSkill
@MrSKSkill I have the fsc556 on my ar15 and can tell you its a great comp but at almost twice the price i don't think the akbc would give you any real leg up over the fsc47 other than the gases arent vectored toward you. but like i said fsc is around 100 battle comp is on sale atm for 180.
I've got a MAK-90 that I permanently attached a slant muzzle break on...thanx to bill clinton. Great video brother. I hope to be able to take off of work and attend your class in La.
I also like to run my AK slick. I am not a fan of quad rails, and the ultimak is the best choice IMO for light wieght. With a us palm grip, Vltor offset light mount and Ampoint micro, your good for combat and it will be light as possible and ergonomic
That's the first time I've seen a BC AK brake. Very cool indeed! I'm seriously considering one for my newly barreled AK. Hopefully, someone will host a Kalalsh class closer to the left coast. Thanks for sharing, Travis!
Guys, we will be hosting Travis for a one day Kalash class in the New Orleans, LA area in JAN. There are still a couple of seats left. Simply google "nolatac haley strategic" and the first hit should be a link to our forum thread with the class info. This is the first and so far only scheduled Kalash class... though I am sure we will have more. Join the forum and let us know if you want to sign up or have any questions.
Im not really sure about the english nomenclature, but is it normal to refer all targets as IPSC targets?because that target was a IDPA target? or was it just a blooper?. either way DAMN UR FAST.
Thanks for taking the time to do this review.

@FriendofCat Overall for SHTF I'd say it would be a good bet since you can buy craptons of ammo for cheap.
