  • what did u say??

  • 1:49 lol canon rock 100 times faster

  • no , his showing us that there's no difference between cheap guitars and expensive guitars. but only important is

that we have our talents and potential in playing guitars such as he he can! right?

  • ridiculous. cheap guitars play like shit. fret wire sticking out past the neck. tone like crap. poor sustain. poor resonance. you get what you pay for with guitars, except for gibson, then you overpay for what you get.

  • @christiandatingwebsi very well said! (although there are some pretty decent guitars comparable to gibson or fender, a quarter their price.. see yamaha rgx a2 for example)

  • @yeefanchang2010 there is a difference, it jsut doesn't matter for begginers at ALL. the tone is totally different. and also, he plugged the crappy guitar into a very good amp. that guitar might be a copy of a les paul. but i think it's an epiphone special cause of the headstock and neck, (i can't really see the body that well in this vid.) and if it is, i think it's worth a little more then 150 bucks. but not much more. tone is important, but not as important as some people say.

  • The expensive guitar was so out of tune though.

  • Did he get rid of his strat?

  • Was the point of the video to test the difference between expensive and cheap guitars? Because buying a guitar has nothing to do with how cheap or expensive its how the guitar feels to the player....

  • thats right.. jerrry c still kick ass with cheaper guitars

  • omg what are he playing exactly? there's no musical at all...

  • mmm when most people try out guitars

they dont usually try to play music.. USUALLY

its about testing the playability, the feel, how well the guitar is made by looking at the frets...

testing out the pickup settings etc, and most guitarists just use scales or random licks (slow or fast) to test out if each note is coming out as it should be

playing "music" may not be what he was aiming to do

  • a lot of it he was playing canon rock, at other parts he was playing improvised solos

  • he's so shit? I bet if you play, he's 100x better than you

  • try times OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!

  • dude he fucked up one his own songs :S

well i guess he must have been very nervous :P

  • just shred no musicali

  • totally agree... hes good but no direction maybe? he starts something good and then it goes off to him sweeping randomly... >.>

  • @XDooj do u know his videos?!

  • I remember to have heard Slash invited by a radio, while he was playing on a really low quality beginner electric guitar and amp. The sound was dirty, not cool, but even with that, it was so cool to hear !

  • yeah, thats the thing man, if slash plugged into my little amp, he would still sound freaking awsome, if i used all his equipment and guitar, i would still sound no better than myself =P

  • he actually is better than most guitar players b/c of his awesome pick sweeping ability

  • plus those awesome rhythm licks, a truly good guitarist can play both lead and rhythm

  • yea man! thats why im working on upin my rhythm skillz! xD

  • it's not that hard

  • awsome im the same ethniticity and/or asain

  • so are billions of others

  • no matter hes a good teacher

  • hes not realy that good is he, better than a lot of people but i have friends that can play that good

  • JerryC never said he was a guitar master, he's from taiwan not a place known for its rock music so when this song became such a internet hit he became quite a celeb in this country. Anyway that Canon Rock was a great guitar song he composed I have heard of quite afew guitarists who wanted to do a rock version of that song but never managed to (such as brian may)

  • ur only saying that cause you know about him through cannon rocks ;)

  • that was good for me...

  • i sorta feel bad for thsi guy he looks like a nice guy with amazing skills but hes just losing his fame feels like the crowd and everyone hates him

  • He sucks for me..Pathetic man. .Really stupid at 0:18 . .

  • yeah didnt expected it at 0:18 that was pathetic..

  • JerryC. C stands for Chang he's my schoolmate in Sanchung City High school, hes a homo guys rumor has it...believe it or not its up to you

  • FYI he already has 7 or so songs..

  • Dude, he didn't even write canon rock

  • Correct. The original Baroque version was written about 1680 by Pachelbel. This is the same thing rocked up.

  • he has other songs that are good.

  • So in other words- Buy a cheaper guitar that sounds same as a expensive guitar and get your self vaulve amps.

  • or just practice till you're that fucking amazing

you can play a 50 dollar guitar with a 20 dollar amp and it'll sound amazing with those skills...

  • Correct there.

  • Amp is more important than guitar for sound, but playability on expensive guitars is often better. Try playing a 2k guitar through a shitty amp and it wont sound much better.

  • the ESP looking guitar(expensive) one sounds brighter and the Les Paul copy is darker sounding and can be used for metal like Kill Switch Engage, Lamb of God.... etc but anyways your sound is 90% made up from amps tone 5% from pickups

  • He realy is very good... playing the Canon Rock ...

  • I would hope so...he was the one who originally wrote the adaption <_<

  • He realy is very good... playing the Canon Rock ...

  • He is saying it doesn't matter what kind of guitar you have. As long you have a really good amp.

  • now if he took off the distortion, the sound would be very, very different.

Distortion can make most guitars sound the same.

  • somehow i cant hear the sound??

  • i can.

  • 1:54 Good to see that even jerryc sometimes has trouble with that walk after the d barre chord in canon rock. That one always gets me :P

  • The cheapest alternative to gibson which maintins quality is tokai because they use nearly identical types of wood that are found in gibson les pauls. Epiphone wood is slightly different and it shows a lot

  • with only 20 to 24 frets it limits you I say he rocks if you guys think you can do better post videos of you doing better

  • dickface.....he invented one of the most covered songs in youtube.....cannon rock

  • ha i can tell the diffrence basicly with £150 the g,b,e strings sound pritty thin, but the amp gives it that push to sound good, witht the $1500 guitar i can hear the notes which his playing really clear. btw that guitar which he played first is £1400 with the pick-ups his got.

  • Is he using an aweful amount of distortion, or are those sweeps at the start reeeaaaally sloopy?

  • it would be even better if i could understand whathever the fuck he's saying

  • go see his other songs lol he is awsome

  • he got another songs man.. just search

  • LOVE YOU!!

    lol

    hugs from Norwaygirl<3

  • funny how i alwyas hear him play the same thing with a few fills here and there.

  • No feeling..? He play's fantaztic^_^

  • this is bad! no feeling at all!

  • Are you kidding me? He's not trying.

if you want "feeling" listen to his songs like "Whose autumn"

  • Man, the guitar he played first has a better tone to me. And I hate Gibson guitars. They were cool when people like Jimmy Page and Angus Young used them. but now they are just old guitars.

  • that's esp

  • have you tried the new BFG les paul?

just dont come and tell me that gibson makes "old" guitars!

  • The only good gibsons IMO are the older ones. Everything they have come out with new in the past few years is good yes, but you can get something of equal quality for about 1/4 the price. You just don't get what you pay for with gibson anymore... =(

  • jeez, can someone translate it, i cant understand a word, and he messes up loads!

  • the cheap one is a Kramer guitar... the Expenseive one is a Gibson Les Paul custom

  • i can hear a huge difference srry

  • from experience, les pauls are much MUCH harder to play really fast stuff..because the strings are pretty far away from the necks..and guitar companies, such as jackson, makes guitars and the strings are practically touching the neck, making it easter to play faster stuff

  • you dumbass actions are adjustable, the difference in speed is from the neck and fretboard and even if the strings are farther from the fretboard anyone whos been playing more than 6 months should be able to play high strings.

  • Dude, 6 months? I think not. After 6 months Id be probably still trying to figure out how to successfully change chords. Id think 6 years. but 6 months is rediculus.

  • it depends on how you practice. most people who focus on legato spend a few months playing without picking to get their fingers stronger. i can give you pointers if you want.

  • he was missed the canon rock on 4:00 xP

  • 4:04

    hehe good observation^^

  • If you spend 1200.00 buck ++ on a guitar , than obviously you will spend 500.00 buck on a good amp + 200-400 on good pedals +100 on accesories(string,Box,Pick)than after 2-3 week you give up and you dont play anymore.Lot of money wasted.WHen you start ,purcahse a cheap acoustic or classic guitar (40-100 buck)

  • maybe he wanted to encourage beginner to buy a cheaper guitar.

but sorry, i can hear a difference between the guitars.

  • cool! :o

  • For those, who want to know which guitars are those:

The "$1500one" the ESP Horizont FR (neck-thru/Original Floyd/25'5 scale/alder body/maple neck w/ebony fingerboard)(can't buy one of these in USA)

The other one is somekind of Epi Les Paul (Standart or a Studio probably)(em...may be with set-neck, could be a bolt-on thou,24'75 scale, mahogany body with a mahogany neck)

  • so that they don't need much money to enjoy playing music rock. not bad point!

  • he encouraged guitar beginners not to cost much on finding an expensive guitar, instead they can use a cheaper one that is ok while playing to practice and improve play ability. the sound of expensive guitar is better for sure. however, if you can accept the sound quilty difference between two guitars, maybe the cheaper one is better choice for most of beginners.

  • he cracks this joke early on about how the guitar is definitely not a gibson, then tries to read the label, but decides he doesnt know how to read it.

the second guitar (the les-paul style one) is supposedly a cheap copy. 4000nt is basically $120 USD, goes out to show how cheap the imitation is.

  • too bad i can't understand him... he is still god

  • ZZzzzz... ZZzzz.... boooooooring.

  • You could of course just buy a cheap guitar and change the pickups.

  • If your a good player, you can make a Sears guitar sound good.

  • I disagree with him. I'd rather want a good guitar, than a good amp (if money was an object). You can make music out of a guitar, and you can only make guitar sounds out of an amp.

  • I agree with Arpreggio cheap amp doesnt really make any difference i thnik

I have a epi lp junior and ibanez rg.

When i use my 10 watt amp with epi it sound horrible and when i use it with ibanez rg, it sounds whole lot better

  • So, which guitar is the cheap one?

  • The les paul copy guitar is the cheaper one

  • i dont get any of ths sht

  • You call this shit? You have to be nuts!

  • he does admit that expensive and cheap guitar makes a difference, eg. quality, parts, productions, etc...

But he indicates that better amp would make more of a difference. He pointed the little practice amp and said he doesn't care who it is, with the little amp, it just can sound heavy enough.

  • A good guitar helps because of playability, but if you can get a cheap guitar with good fit and action then you're in luck. Amps are nice, but really all you need is a good amp sim/multi-effect - convenient and versatile.

  • hmmm I not really agree with this..

I rather have a good guitar than a good amp...

cuzz to me.. it does make a different very much..

its both important.. but for me the guitar is more important And believe me I've played on shitty guitars

And by the way I think the he gets out of this amp.. Is not that great either.. anywayz I do like kerryC very much dont get me wrong

  • goood!!

  • he is saying that the sound difference between 150US vs 1500US is small if u have a good amp. so if u r a beginner, u should focus more on amp instead of getting a good guitar with crappy amp.

  • Plz translate this.... Anybody would?? Subtitle will be great... please please pretty please

  • yay im glad i speak mandarin

  • can anybody translate this
