It is true that nobody will remember them but that is not their fault. They are fighting and defeating the opponents of their time. Imagine if a young Tyson, Ali, Holyfield were boxing now they would demolish this divison.
@instereovideos Awesome response. I personally cannot stand the whole "boring" argument against the Klitschko's. Larry Holmes was one of the most "boring" HW champions I ever saw - and I saw almost every fight he fought.
And, just for clarification - History is going to read: "Klitschko's dominated the whole division for TWO decades". And, good for them. "Flashy" fighters seldom win - except for legends like Ali. They have moments of brilliance, usually followed by disastrous defeats.
Jones and Tyson represent the art and essence of boxing itself. That's why only Tyson's mentality came into Jones' mind. They're in the same level. Jones must knows that clearly more than we thought and discussed. So most of us always appreicate their classical fights howerver time marches on. Klitschko and Haye are good fighters but not great fighters yet. They are just current best fighters in the world, not in history of all time.
Tyson is shit! He doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in a conversation for the best heavyweights of all time. Fucking pussy got whooped by Douglas! LMAO
@KN10SKILLED Your a fucking novice. Tyson's mom didn't die... in fact he didn't even know where his mom was you fucking moron! It was Douglas's Mom who died! Your a fucking cock sucking twat just like every other Tyson fan. Just apologise dickhead! Yeah Naz got beat by Barrera but he never got knocked out DICKHEAD! In fact if you look at this career he went down 5 times and came back from each knockdown to win by KNOCKOUT! That's a sign of a warriro you prick! Tyson is a PUSSY! Like you!
But Ruiz defined paper champion. Most people don't take Jones' Heavyweight belt seriously because Ruiz didn't deserve it, it was stripped from Lewis. If Jones fought Lewis, he'd have a lot of respect from most people.
Tyson mentally was weak... as soon as an opponent beat him at his own game (douglas, holyfield etc) he would lose heart... with the klitschko you have to hve the heart, dedication of Rocky Marciano... AND THE POWER
@KN10SKILLED Why bother bringing Mayweather into the conversation? Do you get a buzz of sucking dicks? I could say Sugar Ray Robinson would knockout Floyd Mayweather jr but this ain't about Floyd you FUCKING MORON! Apologise dick head!
@Nathan2345678 You don't know shit... Teddy Atlas ditched the MORON because he was like a fucking crybaby if he didn't get what he wanted. That tells you everything about Mike. He became a game quitter if things went bad. Tyson makes excuses that he didn't train for the Douglas fight... but he CERTAINLY trained for Holyfield and got whooped at his own game. His always been a bitch crybaby. Over-rated fighter.
@NazhitsREALLYHARD Mike was not in his prime in the fights you just listed, the day Mike Tyson fired Kevin Rooney was the day Tyson's abilities and career slowly went spiraling downwards.
@Nathan2345678 Yeah more excuses. Teddy Atlas said the Douglas fight proved that Godzilla (tyson) didn't have green skin, it was paint. And he wasn't real (he wasn't unbeatable).
Who gives a fuck what you think. Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Sonny Liston, Jack Johnson, Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey, Sam Langford, Jersey Joe Walcott, George Foreman and Joe Frazier are better pound-for-pound than Tyson.
Tyson is S-H-I-T! Frazier would kill Tyson inside 3 rounds... forget the rest LMAO
Roy Jones says you need "Mike Tyson's mentality" to beat the Klistchkos.
The problem is, mentality is only part of the equation. Even if you find a guy with that mentality, he would also have to have Tyson's skill and strength to have a chance. That's why nobody out there can beat them right now.
Johnnie Jones Jr. has been a hard working American all his life and his authentic, soulful voice reflects it. Johnnie also will leave you smiling as he takes you on a journet whith his own songs Sit back and enjory his frist video debut TROUBLE
@muclesmarinara yeah but you have to admit they both have skill, look at toney, he staretd as a middle weight and is taking hard shots from the hardest hitters in the HW scene. he could be a problem for the brothers if he came in good shape. roy jones the same thing in my opinion. i know they arnt the best fighters outthere at, but brothers have cleaned up the devision of most HWs. Unless they rematch haye, solis, arreola, chagaev or if povetkin agrees to fight then i dont see who else there is
@TheXeniaonatopp I love Roy Jones but I don't think an old guy is going to beat either Klitschko unless it was the 45 year old George Foreman. James Toney has never really meant much to me and he really embarrassed himself when he went and did that stupid UFC shit. Arreola is a guy I like,Tyson Fury,Helenius. David Haye is a strange situation. He is only going to fight once more anyway because he wants to retire at age 31.
Believe it or not, in his first 172 rounds of boxing, Roy Jones Jr won 160 of those rounds on the judges scorecards! that was up until he was 35 years old. That is an incredible statistic, thats like winning 11 out of every 12 rounds. By far the most dominant boxer of all time. I would probably have to say that Manny pacman is number 2 and pernell whitaker is number 3. But Roy was just beyond amazing, he didnt just dominate you, he humiliated you. Untouchable!
Correction...i meant those 3 fighers are the most dominant fighters i have ever seen. NOT of all time. Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest of all time. But Roy jones just may be in the top 3, thats how much i respect him, he was truly a man amongst boys.
Roy Jones is the best boxer that ever lived.....his skill set is unmatched in the history of boxing, not ever sugar ray robinson was as skill as Roy Jones...
I always believe that if Roy Jones had retired as heavyweight champion it would of been the perfect Ending to a flawless career... but now he ruins his legendary status with every fight.
Roy Jones is a legend no doubt but you have to look at things realistically, Calzaghe hit Jones and hit him a lot. A man with David Hayes speed and power would knock him completely unconscious. He is no doubt an all time great though.
@shellbsd23 Exactly. The American media loves to say "oh the heavyweight is a joke". The heavyweight is not a joke it's just that the Klitschko's thrash everybody who wants a piece of the cake.
Every fighter, no matter how great, eventually loses his reflexes/skills to age (some last longer than others). Both Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray Robinson, when their time had come, lost quite a few fights that they would have won easily during their peaks. Same for Jones. In his prime he was one of the all-time greats - simply unbeatable in his heyday (in fact, he rarely even lost a single round). The man deserves enormous respect. He was a boxing god. Those that put him down are pathetic.
@9Jeremy3 , yes I agree with this, it is hard to watch a great fighter get the shit punched out of them when they have lost their reflexes...I can`t watch it....
@9Jeremy3 RJJ is my fave fighter of all time. But he's open to criticism because he got busted for steroids in 2000 and after that he slipped and fell and that was that.
@9Jeremy3 I highly agree with you right there IMO I think Roy Jones Jr was very underrated just because people say that his competition wasn't that great but he still cleaned up both the Middleweights and Light Heavyweights(I wouldn't count his DQ Loss) with ease for a decade and 2 years and then became the first middleweight since Bob Fitzsimmons to have ever won a world heavyweight title after his dominance in his peak weight classes. when People mention greatest P4P boxers such as...
@9Jeremy3 Ray Robinson,Duran,Ali,Armstrong,Ray Leonard,Greb,Louis,JCC,Hagler, and other ATGs they didn't mention much about Roy Jones Jr and IMO I also think Roy deserves to be somewhere in the top 20 greatest P4P boxer of all time
@9Jeremy3 And to be honest I loved watching heavyweight bouts from the 90s such as Holyfield vs Bowe,Holyfield vs Foreman and Foreman vs Moorer but I actually find Roy Jones Jr's fights more fun to watch because it's funny how Roy would always dance around his opponents Muhammad Ali style frustrating them they were the classic especially when Roy became the first to ever beat a prime James Toney.
Wlad Klithshko speaks englisch, german, russian, and Roy Jones cant even speak english better than the average street hustler... and would get his ass whooped too, btw.
Im not sure the Roy Jones Jr. who beat John Ruiz could beat David Haye. Haye has the speed that Ruiz doesn't have. It would have been interesting to see, but then again Roy was an amazing son of a gun.
Roy is past his prime at 40 yrs old. He's getting beat by guy's that wouldn't have stood a chance with him in his prime. This is the same thing that Ray Robinson,Mike Tyson and Ali faced later in their careers.
@ESSENCEOFEACHTHING i think your right although i also think that ali may have had a couple good years left if not for the health problems he was already showing signs of before retiring. parkinsons took him out earlier than he may otherwise have retired. but then again his career was winding down so who knows.
I a one of Roy's biggest fans, have been ever since the Toney fight. But I just do not want to see him box ever again. In all fairness, if I was him I would have retired after the Ruiz fight, he sealed his legacy in that, and it would have capped off a great career. But seven years on, he is 6-6 since that fight, knocked out 3 times, he just does not know when to quit now and sadly I think he will retire when he is badly hurt.
Given Jones age, I think Jones would be very tough at cruiserweight or heavyweight, even more so than at Lt Heavyweight. I think the extra pounds would allow Jones to train like he used to instead of draining weight to try to make 175. Jones is undefeated at heavyweight, and if he slowly gains a few pounds of muscle (like he did when he initially moved up to HW), he could keep the speed he had against Hopkins and Lacy up to heavyweight with power. I'd even like to see Jones vs either Klischko.
@ lmaoo hes only had one fight at heavyweight ! hes 41 years old 9 years past prime been sparked out by light heavyweights stop chatting bollocks please.
Respect Jones for all he's achieved, truly one of the best boxers of all time! But who here remembers what Calzaghe did to him not so long ago, he was taunting him with his own weaves by towards the end. Calzaghe was a great fighter in his own right, but if Jones can no longer compete against the best boxers, and yes David Haye is one of the best heavyweights, his career speaks for itself, then Jones should hang up his gloves once and for all and avoid any potential embarrassment.
That's true although it doesn't void the fact that Ruiz was mandatory. He shouldn't of been given a shot at Haye anyway although when a fighter is mandatory...you have to fight him like it oe not.
Haye hasn't really fought anyone in this div yet. The judgment is still out on him in my opinion.
@DarthMuse Haye had to fight Ruiz, Ruiz gave the Valuav fight to David and if he won, he had to fight Ruiz, he had no way of getting out of it, it was all done on contract.
@odin422 Jones is a joke? A former Middleweight World Champion a former Super Middleweight World Champion a former Light heavyweight World Champion a former Heavyweight World Champion. The only man alive to have done that, also former p4p king. But yes you're right he's a joke, looking at what he has accomplished it's not impressive at all is it?
I guess he's not fighting Santiago. Man I wonder how he would do in the heavy W8 division against Tarver or any of the smaller heavies I mean he only hit 199 against Ruiz. But he needs to show the public that he will fight and not pull a Tarver 3 or hopkins 2 performance. A tune up is i need against an ok contender to find out what he has. I wouldn't be suprised if he got Ko'd but if he can get the fight with Haye then do it. I hope he trains seriously for his last fight. God Bless.
Jones can't beat a good light heavy anymore, green smoked him in a round at that weight, i wouldn't want to watch haye jones, it would be a brutal KO by haye
@yfytgfjhgkjhg oh me too! I'd like to see it in England, sell out a football stadium or something. but Haye has to get past Harrison first. many people didn't think too much of Jones - Hopkins, but I thought Jones looked very sharp in that match and I thought there were many close rounds in that fight. If Jones fights like he did against Hopkins with the extra pounds moving up to heavyweight, I think it would be a great fight. I think Jones would at this point have more vitality at HW.

God Bless.

I hope Jones Jr retires... for him to keep on going in this fashion and wind up with pugilistic dementia would be a terrible thing for boxing

Jones can't beat a good light heavy anymore, green smoked him in a round at that weight, i wouldn't want to watch haye jones, it would be a brutal KO by haye

I would LOVE to see Jones vs Haye!
