I like this, good format. Jim is insightful and askes good questions and lets the guy talk. Good stuff. Jim is a guy who I did not like years ago because I thought he was stuck in the toilet but he is a good egg.
wow, i really had no idea directors have that little control over the final product...i now have a lot more respect for louis. He is such an eloquent and intelligent guy. love him <3
louis is such a classy dude. you gotta respect him for taking some of those knocks over the years in his career. probably the smartest guy working in comedy right now.
This is perfect because when I saw the movie a couple years ago I thought it had hints that it could be amazingly funny, but it was brought down by a corny side and other shitty aspects, which was weird cause I know C.K. directed and he's one of if not the best comedic person out there. This makes so much sense to hear now. I wish I could see what he wanted it to be.
I loved pootie tang when I saw it in 2000 and I didn't even know of Louis CK (now one of my favorite comedians) at the time. I don't understand why that movie gets such a bad rap.
@1844Freddy Sure it's more interesting and important if you're a comic, but for a filmmaker it's extremely valuable to hear about his experiences working in the industry, especially that analogy about pushing your hand into the dog's mouth. Goddamn...
thanks. i heard the commercial for this and wrote a note to myself, and then found out i wrote the wrong fucking day when i turned it on and heard Jim Breuer

@TommYYZ i'd help a guy stuck in a toilet. i'd only hate him if he didn't thank me at some point afterward

Wow this explains why Louis CK's stand up is amazing but "his" film pootietang is horrible. All Louis CK fans should see this.

I wish they didn't waste time talking about Pootie Tang....Louis' thoughts on standup comedy are so much more important and interesting.
