  • Being alone to write really does help.

  • I don't know why this has so many dislikes. It's hilarious!

  • This guy shouldnt be allowed on Youtube

  • press 5 and 8 for seizure

  • i thought it was hilarious.

  • I would do it but in NZ it's in the middle of our exams so i can't do it, thats my excuse

  • Yeah, i dunno why you have so many dislikes xD Everyone can say their opinions xD I like NaNoWriMo, but this video was also funny ^^

  • I think the people who disliked this didn't watch the video all the way through. This is really funny!

  • Only 43,000 more words to go. Challenge accepted.

  • I adore this. :D Thank you.

  • This is my first year doing Nano and I just hit 50,000 words :)

I just wanna say that there are people out there who can still write despite all these things... I'm the first at my school to do Nano, I had 7 exams over this month, Alex Day was got me to sign up and I am so not spending 2 years thinking about my book.

If Stephanie Meyer can get published so can I :)

  • Actually this was the best inspiration I could have thought of! As soone as someone tells me not to do something I immeadeatly start doing it! gonna hit this 50 K today! or at least tomorrow! I mean 5.000 word to go? how hard can that be!

  • Haha, this is fantastic! Just hit the 50k mark today, Skyrim probably feels lonely and abandoned...If only I'd seen this earlier and not wasted my time in countless hours spend writing. XD

  • @RexPericuli Wow! Done in only 19 days? Congrats.

  • This IS a satire, right?

I'm not just being an asshole by liking this?

    You're being sarcastic?

    Right?

  • If only I'd seen it before the start of November.

There go my grades and relationships and all I get is a rough draft of a novel I haven't been able to force myself to do, satisfaction, and a caffeine addiction.

    Woe is me.

Going to go swallow my computer, put an end to both myself and my word count.

  • 1- November starts after halloween. On hallowen you get candy. Candy has sugar, you get the point.

2- Its called a contest, for a reason, it is a chalenge.

3-Dude, so dose everyone doing NaNoWriMo, find a way. get off facebook!

    4-what hayley said

5-do a video on you writing a book. No one likes to be cool. Nerdy is the way to go<3

Of course this is just me, but when is me, its right.

  • I'm procrastinating NaNoWriMo by watching this video....

  • "writing tea party" genius

  • Yes... we take over people's minds.... you are next! Bwahaha...

  • Julnowrimo awesome

  • *I'm not gonna respond to John* Yeah, Ryan. *Don't do it* You know you want to, come on. ;)

    Will power ftw.

  • -LOL your voice @2:42 made me laugh

    *hug*

  • It's already no shave november it can't be nanowrimo too! xp

  • Lol. I gave into peer pressure last November. I won, but I don't consider it a great success, as my characters have not reached the point where, like the characters of my "serious" books, they argue with me, win arguments with me, make me look ridiculous, and refuse to do what I tell them to.

  • The point of NaNoWriMo is to just write as many words as your can in November. If you only have time to write 10,000 Words do that. Rather than running away and never trying.

  • Dude you just said why not to do it... You said you'll be doing it next year.... But it's on the same month lol...funny vid though I'm doing it next year :)

  • @iceblueirish Well I actually made this video last year, so right now is next year. But I'm still not doing it, haha. Even though I'm about 20% as busy as I was last year, I just don't feel like doing it. Next year, man. Next year.

  • How do you write with no contact with civilization? What if you need to Google something? Or if you want to type and not write by hand?

P.S. This is a very serious question. If no one replies, it will be on my mind 24/7 and my word count will suffer.

  • @LittleHogwartsGirl

You could still have a computer with you and not have contact with civilization. So you could use it for typing. But yeah, no internet. While the lack of google may be a hinderence, I'd argue that the lack of the many distractions that come via internet would more than make up for that.

Also, there were many books written before google. I've read a couple, they actually aren't too bad.

Sorry it took me 6 hours to reply. I was at work. I hope your word count is OK.

  • @LittleHogwartsGirl Do it the Stephenie Meyer way- If you don't know something, make it up! :D

  • This is entirely awesome.

  • "Everyone is out to get you." Yes, this is probably true.

  • So did you decide to do it this year? If not.....would you like some crysal meth? :)

  • nanowrimo is great! I wrote a novel! BRAGGING RIGHTS!

  • Hm, I wonder what NaNoReeMo is.

  • Your not writing a book. Your writing a Draft for a book in thirty days.

  • @PACSLeader I still get to brag about it though!

  • I love NaNoWriMo (until November starts lol), but this video was really cool =)

  • @VivaElKlan Thanks, and good luck!

  • On two, it really isn't meant to be finished. It's just a draft and a way to get out the basic story.

Yeah, I didn't do it last year cause I was busy, and I'm busy this year too, but I have too many one-shots that sit around gathering dust as I work on my series. I can't let these great ideas go to waste. I COULD DIE TOMORROW!!!

Anyway, hopefully you really DO it this year. It's better to know you aren't the only one suffer- I mean... having fun!

  • But we like being crazy.

  • gotta admit it, number 1 made so muchf-ing since. Number 2 made me laugh to hard. It's just for the hell of it anyways

  • Wait, should I be smoking or snorting my peer pressure educed crystal meth?

  • @thepappytube Sorry, induced.

  • Good video! Loved your comment on twilight!

  • I fully intend to do NaNoWriMo, but I liked your video because you're funny and actually make some valid points XD Buuut, I apreciate the thousands of people telling me to get off my lazy butt and write something. Still, funny video :D

  • lmao awesome. you're dead on with the not 31 days thing. at least it's not february we can be thankful for that.

  • BAHAHA never mind. I take that all back.

  • @CourtneyLoux13

    Wait, now I'm lost.

So first you tell me I'm wrong, then you tell me that you were being sarcastic, and then you tell me you take all that back...

    So...You take back...your joke...which leaves us...where?

  • If you actually did your homework and read at least the first chapter of No Plot No Problem by the creator of nanowrimo, it would explain why November and how to still get 50,000 words while attending school and other things. The book includes all the information to make it possible. But good try. (that's sarcasm in case you didn't pick up on that.)

  • THAT was obnoxious...yet I enjoyed it thoroughly. ;) It made me smile.

NaNoWriMo is amazing, I did it for the first time this year and loved it so.

  • K so.. NaNoReeMo or NaNoRyeMo?

    You said both.

  • I've heard both. If you technically break it down to what it stand for, it should be "Rye". But calling it "Ree" sounds better to me, and long before me it caught on as a popular pronunciation. There are many people on both sides of the fence. I don't think it's that big of an issue. I hereby give you permission to say it in any manner which pleases you.

  • NaNoWriMo FTW!

This is why we have an intense editing process.

    Yeah, so, NaNoWriMo rocks. ;)

  • hahah this is funny. and true. like i'd EVER even consider NaNoWriMo...

  • Haha yeah, I agree with Equuestriaan :P Pretty stupid. But no. I love NaNoWriMo. Even though I fail at it. xD *has only written 30k to date*

  • This is hilarious if you don't take it too seriously :P

  • it's NanoWRImo not Nanowreemo

(national novel WRITING month not national novel wreeting month)

    you're stupid

  • interesting video.

  • haha im writing 83,111 words this month cuz i can! and yet i still have time to watch videos email friends clean the house and babysit

  • But are you participating in Song Fu? Not that I knew I would be when I made this video. But now that I am, I'm REALLY glad I'm not doing NaNo too.

  • @thepeteris I have no clue what song fu is but if it requires anything that relates to singing or making videos i will for sure not be doing it

  • hehehe :D

    I'll read the NaNoWriMo books...

but I have the whole Harry Potter series to finally read!

  • Comment removed

  • C'mon. There are still... 24 days to write 50000 words. Dooo eeeet!

    :)

  • this is great. Very funny. -John

  • @vlogbrothers I liked this because John Green said it.

  • I think it''s pronounced Rhy not Wry.

    But it doesn't matter.

  • i pronounce wry and rhy the same anyways....

  • i love this video it's why i decided to do NaNoWriMo

  • hilarious man

  • Thanks!

  • Eh, I personally enjoy it. And it's not supposed to give you a perfectly great book in one month. Just a general theme and way to make yourself get all your jumbled ideas down, so you can make them better at your leisure. I do agree they could have chosen a better month, though. :/

  • More power to you! Really, I hope it goes great for you and am in full support of everyone doing it. This video was just to ease my conscious for choosing not to do it, and I do think I'll do it next year(or I might just do it by myself over the summer)

  • Thanks. C8

  • I will be joining you in not NaNoWriMo.

  • Woo!

We should organize. Get a website. Have meetings during November where we get together and not write with other local supporters.

  • This has so much potential...

  • You could call it NaWriNoMo... Mo?

    National Write No More... Month?

  • Hmm, we've already settled on EnMyNo, but that's a lovely suggestion nonetheless. Maybe better actually, too bad I already made the ning group.

  • NaWriNoMo... Mo? is pretty poorly constructed, anyway. And it could very well be a component of an evil webmaster's plan to deceive you.

    *Twilight Zone*

  • What happens to this book after you write it? If someone writes and book and nobody reads it ... does it exist, or matter? I may wait for the movie in any case.

  • I bet you cave in to the pressure and write your brains out next month. Or not.

  • I was going to say sorry for falling asleep.

But I dunno... this was a pretty good way to wake up.

Your reasons are justified... I guess. But I still think you should torture yourself with this process.

  • Hahahaha. I may be guilty of persuading people to read Twilight (when I was very young and VERY BLINDED BY ITS MAGNETISM TOWARDS TEENAGE GIRLS), and I do occasionally dailybooth, but you can't put the whole crystal meth thing on me. Or Kristina.

  • @hayleyghoover OMG HAYLER I LOVEEE YOU! :D :D :D :'D xD

  • @hayleyghoover Hayley, you are amazing.I'm completly against everthing he says and for everthing you and kristina says, just sayin. <3

  • I did it last year, and I actually completed it! But this year I have no idea what I'm going to write about, so I probably won't do it. Maybe next year.

  • No plot, no problem!

  • Octavian Nothing = A+

Thanks for putting reading Twilight and smoking crystal meth in the same category, haha.

I'm hoping if I tell me English teacher I'm doing this she'll give me extra credit or something.

Oh, and you didn't say no tag backs so... you're it. no tag backs.

  • excuses, excuses! :-P

  • Shhhh.....
