  • He is gorgeous apart from his injury. Hope he's better! Why is the stitching area blue? And didn't you wash the blood off his leg or is it stained?

  • @QuarterHorses007 its a spray bandage, and there is a drain in it so it is meant to ooze a little

  • @nutcase1995 Oh oaky!

  • apart from the cut he looks like a beautiful horse <3

  • did you ever figure out how that happened???

  • didnt you wash the blood off his leg, or is it just stained??

  • Isn't it amazing and wonderful how many informed experts there are on YouTube? You would think these professional people would be so busy making money with all their information that they wouldn't have time to embarrass themselves online.

  • that probably hurts like hell!! poor horse!!

  • My horse was severely injured at a horse show last June (2011). We had to wait until the trailer could come and pick him up, bring him the 45 minutes back to the stable then have the vet meet us there. When the vet saw him he said I did an amazing job with my wound wrapping. Took about 35 stitches. Was hard to heal cos of being behind the knee, but I scrubbed it 3 times a day, kept all proud flesh away and it healed in a month. Today you can't even tell he had an injury. =]

  • I want to cry

  • I have seen this kind of injury before.

  • upseted??? now THAT's grotesque

  • Comment removed

  • What a beautiful, loved horse. SSo glad that your dad and anyone else involved did the right thing. Injuries like this can be real budget breakers. Kudos to you for being so brave and being there to comfort your beloved animal. I have no horses, but a boxer and a mildly obese americal brown tabby cat, and I would eat stale bread that the food banks give out in order to alleviate any discomfort they were having.

  • My horse had the same injury. She got spooked and ran into the barbed wire fence and it cut her pretty good to. Needless to say the fence has been changed and only has a shock like instead of barbs. To the people sayin the owners was responsible, you are truly ignorant. I seriously doubt they would call a vet much less pay that much money to get him fixed. If it was done on purpose to make the horse suffer, then they would have let him stay like that instead of gettin him fixed. Animals injure

  • what happened to the poor baby?

  • Is he better????

  • @fantabulousK

I agree with you. I want to know what the hell happened too. For all we know, "someone" may have been a little knife happy. =/ Since to me it looks almost like a slash mark. Like someone taking a butcher knife and slashing a tender piece of meat.

I'd like to hear the story - fresh from the horses mouth - pardon the pun, and just be updated on what happened to hurt him and what his condition is now, since seeing such a wound concerns me, and I'd like to know how both of you are

  • @sexyiceprincess1993

Hey kid, watch the language. You're acting like a little spoiled brat, so just chill the hell out before you start attacking and accusing - and calling other people names I might add - before you start to throw a fit. For all we know you're a) a close friend b) an alias c) a liar d) all of the above. So just stop. You're not the one being addressed. If you love horses so much, then try and see it from our side for a moment, and support us in getting a proper - new - answer

  • Awww....poor thing hope he feels better!

  • Horses can injure themselves standing still. You were at least a responsible pet owner and took your animal to the vet.

  • what a bad booboo! glad you did the right thing by gettin a vet(s) out there to help! wish him best of luck!

  • why won't you tell us HOW the horse got this injury?

  • @iTerrify It ran into a fence...... it does say that!

  • @iTerrify It ran into a fence...... it does say that!

  • Poor thing, I hope he's healed up well. What kind of injury was it?

  • @sexyiceprincess1993 I'll tell you WHY, you airhead! It's because SOMEBODY needs to ask that question! SOMEBODY needs to stand up for victims that can't speak, including animals, and sometimes that means asking questions that might seem fucking rude but in the end are the questions that save lives and help the helpless. This horse has a gash in its shoulder almost a foot in length, it's bleeding out and important muscles are exposed. It can't speak for itself. "Injured" is not good enough.

  • @fantabulousK they did explan u stupid cunt they called the vet to help the fucking horse and bitch if u want to go there you should be in there shoes i have been there my horse was running in the pasture and fell in to the post so dont fucking act like u fucking know me bc u dont now stop trolling these ppl n go fuck ur self

  • @fantabulousK it ran into a fence dumbass!

  • There are many thing that could happen. We had are Horse's with there fouls out in are Pasture. One of are Fillys run right into the fence. it slit her chest from left to right. like a hot knife in butter. her face was just as bad. anything at anytime can happen. Just like us. just that it has never happen to you dosent make you a better horse person.

  • My moms horse was in the pasture and my mom is a maniac about any thing endangering her; however, on day lightning struck and it spooked her. She jumped sideways into a fence that used to have a gate in it that was taken down by the next door neighbor who had left a bolt in the fence post. That is what she jumped in to. So she had an injury like this one. Accidents happen even when people are super vigilant with their pets/animals. I hope everything has turned out okay for your horse.

  • I had a mare that injured herself with a wound exactly like this. It took a long time to heal with a large scar but she was completely sound. After about 5 years the scar was hardly noticeable. The hardest part in the healing process was that when it started healing it itched, a lot, and she would rip the sutures out scratching it. We finally had to immobilize her in a specially designed tie stall to keep her from biting at it and rubbing the wound against posts.

  • ouch bless him hope hes okay now xx

  • All you keep saying is "this is the injury". People ask you "how did this happen?" and you say "horse got injured". I think what they MEAN is, what events caused the horse to recieve the injury?! You can't just write something, post a video like that, and not explain what HAPPENED to your horse and ask for no angry comments. Until you explain it, it's animal cruelty. That's just how it is, opinions work different than the justice system, it's guilty until proven innocent on the internet.

  • @fantabulousK whatever happened they took care of it atleast they let him die in a stall or +ever even tried to call the vet y cant u just accept that they helped their horse

  • @sexyiceprincess1993 "Why can't I just accept that they helped their horse?" Let's say I bring a baby into the hospital emergency ward, beaten to hell. Doctors diagnose him with shaken baby syndrome, bleeding and trauma to his brain. He has a black eye and bruises and burns all over his body. The doctors give the baby Morphine and stabilize his condition. Should everyone just accept I helped this baby? Or should somebody ask me what the fuck happened to it?

  • @fantabulousK Listen multiple vets saw this animal. If there were any serious questions to be asked I trust them to ask them much more than some random person insisting on making an ass of themselves on a youtube comments page.

  • @mygaffer And that's THEIR perogative. They were probably friends of yours. People in the equine community get pretty close with each other and it's rarely the vet who calls the SPCA to report abuse because they've seen everything in the book. I don't give a shit who DIDN'T ask, I'm asking NOW.

  • @mygaffer And your constant declination to say what happened to injure this horse just further illustrates the fact that you feel somehow guilty in this, otherwise you'd say what the fuck happened to your horse. Nobody ever asks who DIDN'T report something before investigating, they just fucking investigate. Know why? They don't give a shit who knew that's why they give a shit WHAT they know. They want to know WHAT happened. So I'm asking again, WHAT happened to your horse?

  • @fantabulousK If you took the time to look back on comments they said a lead mare ran him into a fence. But guess it is easier to complain an not look for yourself.

  • @fantabulousK IT RAN INTO A FENCE

  • @fantabulousK Basically we didn't have our fence in good repair so there was a jagged piece of wire just hanging out there. The horse ran right into, like the idiot he is. I wanted to put him down rather than pay to have him fixed up but the wife would've left, she already puts up with the drinking and episodes of violence.

  • poor boy hop he is better good luck

  • poor baby. :( hope he's all better. keep doing what you're doing and he'll be fine. :)

  • in fact, i'm upsetted by the spelling of the vid poster and Aimeehorsemaddavies's grammer. if only i had some pain RLeaver? WTF?

  • i am upseted by you spelling skills.....

  • BTW, the lady who owned the stable and caused the injury to my horse had the nerve to charge me FULL rate for a stall while my horse recovered. My horse was in the pasture when this happened. Talk about greedy! I dont know how she managed to sleep at night knowing that she caused the accident, and then had the nerve to charge me FULL rate for a stall. The right thing for her to do would have been for her to only charge me the pasture rate that I was paying! Greed, greed, and Greed!

  • @Wellington5392 i would have bitched till i was blue in the face. but it goes to show how hard it is to find a stable that the owner really cares for every horse and person that comes in. hope you horse gets better.

  • @Wellington5392 thats when you should sue in small claims unless your contract prevents you or you desperately need her services

  • @nooodles865 Thanks. Unfortunately there was a HUGE sign that said "Equestrian Area not responsible for injuries or accidents". So, basically that sign covered her ass even when she was directly responsible for injuring my horse... Just shows how people generally care for the almighty dollar instead of one of God's living and breathing creatures. I'm sure that horses and all animals can feel pain too.

  • I am so sorry about your baby getting hurt. My horse got shoved by other horses into a gate latch on his L side shoulder, it caused his muscle right above his leg to get severed. The wound caused the muscle to drop, and it looked like a "pot roast" was scooped out of him. The vet couldnt stitch it, and he was in a neck "cradle for a few months and confined to a stall. He did recover but it took months. His wound was way worse than your babys, but I wouldnt wish that pain on any horse.

  • ik this is old but i feel so bad that this happend!! :(( hope hes better

  • is he okay now?

  • what happened????!!? please respond

  • I am glad he recoverd, stop posting nasty comments, at the end of the day she is the owner not you its down to her what she does with the horse (within reason) i have seen this before it could go either way depending on what vet you have so whoever wrote a nasty comment go get life and never buy a horse!! :)

  • how did it happen

  • its been 3 years. one would hope all is well now

  • Fence im guessing? Its not the worst ive seen, it dosent look very deep. Still no fun though, hope he makes a quick recovery

  • ooh, poor thing, hope hes ok!

  • How does it happen?

  • hope he feels better. he is a pretty horse

  • what caused this injury?

  • Thats a painful place !! How did it happend?

  • If you don't mind me asking do you know how it happened and can you tell me but if not he is a beuatiful horse and i hope he recovers well

  • Hope you dont have BARBED WIRE or any NAILS sticking out of fences that could have caused this... in that case you're just asking for trouble. Ive seen much worse tho. Be glad it was just muscle deep.

  • Awww :( what breed is he? Hope he's okay now

  • u fuknn cowboyy piece of shiett

  • @MsCesoner ????

  • I am happy that he has a good owner who takes care of him. You have a great big friend for life.

  • What happened to him?

  • I would like to ad this though that while humans can recover from broken bones we can recover without walking or putting weight on our legs basically we don't stand on our legs 24/7 like horses do,yes they can be put in a sling harness, but that isn't an option for some horses who don't have disposition to handle that confinement.

  • My first horse had and a 20 inch gash than ran from his up front chest area up under his right front leg all the way back to his girth area.We never quite could figure out how it happened check pasture all over.I did have suspicion it was cause by their round bale hay holder but saw no evidence of it.He recovered nicely.

  • @parrot2me I hear ya...seems like we could put a horse, ANY horse in a padded stall/room, and they can still figure out how to unintentionally get themselves injured. Hope your horse is all recovered now.

  • Poor poor baby....

  • Ooh, poor baby. What happened?? :(

Oh, what kinda horse is he? He's gorgeous!

  • poor baby! hope he feels better :)

  • poor thing. We had a horse go thru something like that not too long ago. It sucks.

  • Comment removed

  • He's still beautiful

  • awww the poor thing i hope he is ok

  • @lolpop103 im sure he recovered since 2008 xD

  • this is nothing....my horse was impaled 6 inches into his shoulder, and had his knee ripped open (pasture accident)...he's fine now, but his muscle was basically falling out of his chest lol

  • we had a horse with a similar injury after running into a metal support for a water tank. He actually chipped his shoulder bone. 128 stitches later(internal and external) and several months of rest, he was good as new. Horses can heal from amazing things! Hope your boy healed well!

  • mix lavender and cut an heal for wounds 2x tetnus.

  • owww :( hes gonna get better in time tho :) i hope he feels better!!

  • I would like to know how he got a cut that bad. We have had horses put t-post through their chest and not require that much work (a vet was called) It wouldn't look so bad if they washed his leg.

  • @Turnershot it's quite likely his hair is stained by the blood, fairly common in a grey horse with an infection or injury. I had a colt run through a barbed wire fence and get a wound like that (much deeper with a lot of muscle tearing) and it was years before it was "healed"

  • I hope it healed right, do you know how he did it?

  • omg!! i hope hes okay!!!

  • at least you guys actually put the money, effort and heart into your horse to make sure he would be of, some people would have just sold it for as much as it was worth....some... but not most :)

  • what happened to him??

  • i am so sorry , and if you dont mind me asking what happened?

  • What caused it?

  • Im so sorry for Silver. :( I hope he will be better.

  • shut up

  • how is he now?

  • ouch! how did he do that? back in October one of my clients horses cut her chest open trying to scratch on a T post that had barb wire fence at their place. It was pretty nasty she had over 200 stitches. Shes all healed now and living the life of a pleasure horse because she cant be shown with her huge scar.

  • Cuteponieslol u r wrong sometimes a horse fractures or break a curtain bone that we can't fix or we can but they will be in pain and can only walk it would be best to put them down also horses need all four legs and it's hard cuz we can't tell the horse to stay still or not walk so then the sometimes can't heal

  • Well @roanokegal98 i see doesn't like horses! Horses own half of my heart! Hope your horse has a speedy recovery

  • awww sorry to hear... unfortunatly this happens in the horsy world :( how is he doing now?

  • Comment removed

  • or.......poor horse

    hoe gig that happen???

  • how did she do it

  • Oh did that happen

  • Man what did he run into a T post? He looks like a good horse tho good luck with him

  • What happened :( how did he do it ?? is he ok now??

  • does anyone here actually have a horse? cause i do, and if you knew the kind of pain some horses have to go through if they injure their leg? if you say that no horses should be put down because they broke their leg, then you should be charged for animal cruelty or something because all of the pain relievers in the world just cant heal some horses. i know this because i had a horse who was put down after an accident very much like this. this girl is vey lucky to not have to put her horse down.

  • Wow, that's such a beautiful horse! I'm glad u guys hadn't put her down!

  • poor thing. im so happy hes better now.

  • When he was all stitched up, he didn't look like he was in much pain! hope he is doing better!

  • I hope i'm not intruding if I ask how that might have happened? He looks like a sweet heart! I'm glad you decided to keep him going!

  • Nutcase, you need to calm down. Horses are put down because of those things because people ride them and work them. Not because we're mean and don't care about horses it's because we do care and we don't like seeing them in pain.

What did happen to your horse?? I'm deffnitly NOT saying you should have put it down. Also pain meds are to sooth the pain, not get rid of it, in one case it may have been better to put a horse in that condistion to sleep but clearly he got better so no worries!

  • I disagree with those who say that he should've been put down. No, an animals life might not be -equal to- a humans life. But in this case, the wound was treatable and recovery time shorter than most. And I'm sure this horse lived happily for many years more. I would say putting it down would've only been to escape the hassle of actually looking after the animal. But you make that commitment the moment you make the decision to own them.

  • looks a lot like an injury one of my horses got after running into a steel bar. He healed up good as new in a couple months, hope your horse did the same. Ugly injury, but with proper vet care, very fixable.

  • nutcase1995 you need to calm down.... everyone needs to stop posting stupid comments like the horse needed to be put down... he obviously didnt... he was probably in a lot of pain when he got the injury but according to his owner he is all better so stop posting stupid comments!!!

  • I'm sorry if t's too rude to ask, but what happened to him?

  • Good for you! I would have done the same thing.

  • awww poor horsey what happened? glad hes better....hes beautiful btw

  • i am so with you. y is it that every time a horse hurts himself bad like that and stuff y do ppl loose faith that they cant get better. like are foal at are barn he ran into a electric fence and somehow broke hi leg and they had to put him down. but why do they have to kill them i mean we brake are legs and arms soooo many times and we dont get killed i do not think that is fair to the horses

  • Wow my sisters arab did that to himself exact place and all up at a Michigan state I was walking him he spooked at a grate on the floor and jumped into a water spiket.. Poor boy took 2 hours for him to get stiched the vet up there is amazing. Now hes back to work

  • How did this happen D;? Poor thing!

  • ohh injuries are never, ever fun :( glad to know that no tendons or muscles or bones were hit, that's always a relief and a good sign for recovery!

Stitches on the shoulder are always tricky... did he ever pop any when walking?!

  • There are limits for putting a horse down, I don't put a horse down unless you're sure there's nothing you can do, or if it will take too long to get help. I had a gelding who had twisted his gut and we couldn't get one vet out not even in the end to euthanize him.

Be careful what you say and how you say it, not everyone thinks of their horses as idle playthings or some winner. Each horse is special and this is why they have medicine for that. The person who posted this video did right.

  • Hows he doing today?

  • Hey nutty, it says on your profile that you weld! You could've welded the horses skin back together!

  • something similar happened to 2 of my horses a while back. one ripped his shoulder wide open and the flesh was just hanging there along with parts of the muscle. another horse of mine, the mother cut up the leg really bad that it was showing 3" of the bone on her leg. and it was on the inside. we still to this day have no idea what happened to either of them. we never found blood anywhere on anything.. we almost think they might have been attacked by something in the night

  • omg thats his bone ewww

  • i don't want to make you upset but how did he get that horrific injury i mean i love horses and obiously you do too so that must have been a hard disision!

  • Im glad that the horse is ok. Im glad you decided to get him help rather then put him down. your a lucky person to have such a beautiful animal, many of us dont get thos luxerys. as for all the people making stupid comments, im ashamed to hear people talk like that to each other. makin fools of themselves using language like that, speaking the way they are, for what? because of one dumb comment that someone made that could have been ignored. im still waitin for one to man up and apologize. Shame

  • poor horse!!!What happened?

  • Bless him, how is he now? Did he make a full recovery? He's beautiful x

  • Ouch!!! Poor guy! Glad he's okay now tho!!!

    do you know what happened?

  • Oh, that's a nasty wound! I'm glad that s/he's okay now!

  • Umm...im pretty sure that horses leg isnt broken. Wow. You are soo dumb. It was just a deep cut...im pretty sure that it wasnt in enough paint to have to be euthinized...haha. wow.

  • omg what the hell happend to the poor thing

  • what happend to him?

  • OUCH, oh my lord!!! That beautiful baby is such a trooper!

Don't listen to roanokegal and aftynwilson......they don't understand horses, clearly.

You did the right thing and I hope she is all better now!!!

  • awwwe so sad. :( is he doing ok now?

  • how did that happen poor buddy

  • BEST WISHES!

  • aww :/ a horse at the barn my horses stayed at their was a 6 yr old that also stayed their and his rider was riding him on the street he got spooked by a truck and ran/tripped over a fire hydren and tore up his leg where their was a flap of skin hanging they had to put him down cause it was way to severe.but im glad your horse pulled through it.if my horses got injured like that i will try everything to save them

  • Holy shit! That must have hurt! But shes okay now and that whats count!

  • I would under stand if your horse had a broken leg but a cut like that can be heeled. If you love your horse and the vet said they can fix it let them. Your horse will thank you for believing in them that the can heel.

  • The horse is lucky to have such a caring owner that wouldnt just put her down like many of you said!!!!

  • My hear would've been broken:(

    is he doing good??

  • Awwww :( I'm so sorry you had to go through this with him!!!

Has he healed up nice? How did it happen? :/

  • soo how did that happen?

  • what hapend to him

  • How did he get that wound?

  • how did that happen

  • your poor horse :( hope he is all better now

  • im sure the vets know what is right and they didnt put him / her down hope he / she is ok now i know its like 2 1/2 years later xxxxxx

  • sometimes its better to put the horse to sleep.... but you know whats best for your horse :) Good luck <3

  • what happened to cause the injury

  • wow this horse is fine people!! it got vet attention the professionals who would have told her if it was that series to have the horse put down. so leave it to the professionals and stop telling people there horse should have died because of it needing stitches and pain relievers to help with an injury like this..

  • @zStarrGazerz your right

  • everybosy just shutup i have had enough being called stupid leave me the f alone and get a life loosers

  • @aftynwilson47 i'm flagging that for spam.

  • i never said i put down myt horse i just said thats what some people do i never said you had to put him/her down now quit asooming stuff

  • thats what normaly happens now i dont want to fight so leave me the f alone

  • thats not what i said i just mean that horses have longer legs so if they broke it you should put it down thats all im saying and all the signs ive seen that bad they just put them down but im glad he/she fine

  • as much as i hate to say this i would have just put her out of her misery and put her down let her free from the pain

  • @aftynwilson47 wow, your a retard that knows nothing about horses

  • @nutcase1995 no i just would have just been nice and done the right thing so he/she wouldnt have to go through with all the pain even if she does have pain releavers

  • @aftynwilson47 not at all!!!!! does that mean if a child breaks a leg they need to die?!?!"even if they do have pain releavers!" do some research b4 you go telling ppl their horse should have died

  • @nutcase1995 i agree. If the vet can fix it let them. If it doesn't get better then put them down. How is your horse now?

  • @aftynwilson47 What's nice about euthanizeing an animal for an injury that will only take a couple weeks to heal? End her life so she wont have to deal with a minute amount of pain for a little while. Seriously?

  • @aftynwilson47 I could never let my horse go through that much pain I would do what you said and put her down I am a very caring and loving animal owner and 3 hours just for stitching her up and that much pain she was in I couldnt stand it

  • @roanokegal98 your pathetic, people go through more pain than this every day...guess what, theres medication for that!!! I know right, this is such a new concept for retards like you. horses can get pain relief, and he healed up in less than 3 weeks

  • @nutcase1995 thats right tell em like i said lets put the dumbasses down that dont care if the horse lives or dies! put your self in the horses place would you want to live or die!! i my self own the 3rd great grand doughter of man o war! an all i can say is id die for her she MY BABY
