franky, whenever you're cooking a rare steak and let it rest, do you cook it first, let it rest for 5 min or so then cook it again to warm it up? i find that if i dont cook it briefly afterwards it will be cold when i serve it even if i let it sit for 30-60 mins to get to room temperature before cooking.
@sdpgposd If you are cooking a cut of meat rare, you can probably get away with waiting a less before cutting it, or try to let it rest in a warm area.
@sdpgposd - When I have been cooking rare steak, sear it on each side for 2 mins. and ten throw it in the oven at 400 for 5 mins, take it out and cover it with foil when you let it rest 3 to 5 mins before serving. I am not sure if foil is toxic because it aluminum. What are your thoughts on the foil FrankyG?
Yeah I always tried to use that technique. but you can get good at just touching the meat and being able to tell the doneness.your videos are cool though make more! where in maine do you live? I use to live in Sanford.
@ChefFrankyG Do you go to the Bond Mountain Spring at all? Just wondering cause last time I was there it was barely flowing so I didnt know if it has picked up at all. I went there in the summer.
@StomperReed I guess some kids knocked the pipes out of sync, but Bond is running full bore since early December. We were getting really worried for a bit there
