Why not just work towards unlocking guns instead of constantly leveling up and prestiging? I have the ACR, I've never prestiged and I'm an awful fucking shot.

And it's that reason why I'll never prestige. Why work towards having to unlock everything AGAIN?!

BOOM you're prestiged. It shows how long or how good you are.

When you prestige you lose everything, except your titles and emblems. Its like basically starting all over again but there are some extra things available to you for prestiging, such as the Unlock Gear in the Prestige Shop. So if you prestige, you keep on advancing in leveling up in MW3, but if you choose not to you don't get the extra privileges that prestiging gives you, so if you don't prestige, its not a big deal.

It makes your prestige level go up 1. so when you get the game, your prestige 0. then you move up to prestige 1.

But your rank, like you're lvl 80 when you prestige. it goes back to level 1. You start all over. All your weapons and perks go away. you gotta get 'em back. This allows respect from other players and some other things to be unlocked. with the prestige shop, you can use prestige tokens to your advantage.
