i have a fishwheel it is all alum and metal it is home made and i use Inflatable 4 24ft long x 24inch dimo 2 Inflatable each are right and left side tear down and set up within 4 hours
did that guy throw the fish head back into the river?? THe fish head has a fair amount of meat on it. The skin is pretty tasty too, if it is cooked right. You can cook the skin and mike potatoe chip type snack.
i bought some copper river salmon today, and thought about this vid. Not as good as fresh from the river like you get, but good nonetheless. Salmon and spinach in our house tonite!!
Fish wheels are amazing contraptions. They're powered by the current. Fish caught in the baskets slide down the trough into the holding pen. Here in Alaska they're only allowed on the Copper River and the Yukon River. There used to be huge ones on the Columbia River in the 1800s.
very cool, i never heard of a fish wheel. I am a salmon fanatic, and eat only wild caught salmon , not the farmed type. Especially sockeye salmon. My absolute favorite of the salmon fish.
good luck

Heck yeah, Thanks for the vid. Was trying to explain to my new to AK girl what a fish wheel is, this was far better than my feeble words.

My grandma wanted to move to Alaska, because its beautiful up there and COLD. Turns out she moved to Kentucky. O__o

I think Kentucky is one of the most beautiful states. It's so green there and has such a pleasant climate. So your grandma made a great decision. :)
