It is all about how you feel comfortable playing it though.

I play it using the nail on my index finger as a pick.

Works fine.

Similarly, I don't play the Jose Gonzalez' version of Heartbeats anything like the way he, or any one who's covered it on youtube plays it. But it sounds fine to me. All the notes (bar a couple in the last chord of that middle section) are in the right place and make the right sound so, meh.

It's pretty much a unique inlay pattern that Martin guitars almost ALWAYS use... wish I knew though..

I play a Martin D-28 and while theres 2 dots on the 7th fret inlay, on the side inlay the "cheater" dots...7th fret only has one...
