  • Vielen Dank für Kommentar und Beratung. :)

  • very good, but you take to much pressure on your voice :/

you must sing with much more air :)

  • PERFECT!^^

  • @pipirepipi There's no way to be perfect in singing but just trying to be. It's pleasure to have such great comment.

  • @pipirepipi I am trying.

  • WOA!!! I LOVED THIS BASS

  • @MrDarknesslover Thank you!! You will love also :)

  • bravo Martin, very good performance! i love also kurt Moll's interpretation but what a difficult adagio tempo to hold !; josé VANDAM seems more accessible to me for training this aria. Haveyou recorded also the other aria of Sarastro?it would be nice i guess ... good luck

  • @sean44david Kurt Moll is a legend. Even 2nd aria of Sarastro is more difficult with piano accompany. To keep the legato and tempo, with orchestra is much better. I'll post some when I come to have record of 2nd Aria. Thanks for comment.

  • I am singing this one too at singinglessons! Very nice but low...

  • @SamLikesToSing Yes..it is low but the musicality of this aria is much more difficult than low tone itself.

  • @martinohu well that's true but even if you are a very good singer you still must be able to sing that low. I mean a bass can't just sing this, you really have to be a provondo bass... well that's what they told me..

  • @SamLikesToSing A basso profundo ?? No way man, !Listen to Vladimir Miller then you'll know what a basso profundo is really like

  • Martin, swallowing your tongue does not make you a bass. You have a promising instrument but, if you're following your teacher's advice here, he/she is putting a lid on the top of your voice. Good luck.

  • @iriisblue Thanks for advice. I know my vowels were too dark and blocked with my tongue. My voice is much lighter than this period. I do welcome your advice always. :)

  • Congratulations. Nice bass voice at the top and low notes, too.

  • @alvarezfan Thank you for your comment!

  • woow that`s better :X

  • Love it

  • Very nice my friend!!Well done! With which teacher are you working your voice?I m interested in going abroad to study further...

  • hi there. i'm also training to become a bass-baritone and think you have a great resonance and will go far. try some ramfis from aida. i think you would love it and would certainly suit your voice. unfortunately i keep singing higher bass-baritone stuff like papageno, figaro (le nozze and il barbiere) and don giovanni to name a few. another one you might be interested in might be gremin's aria from eugene onegin. i sang that in concert and loved it. anyway, good luck for the future.

  • @tommybaby124 Thank you for your comment. Yes..I could have chance to sing Ramfis last year but the contract was canceled. Gremin's aria, now I'm learning russian pronounciation. But russian repertoires, I would like to try not too hurry. The bass-baritone roles you've tried are also great ones. I hope to listen to your recording if you have. Good luck for your future and music too.

  • Now I've begun with singing classes, my key belongs to baritone-bass, and this aria is one of my favourites for practicing, as well as some others from Mozart or Rossini.

  • @jmbonell You can learn some feeling of Mozart opera with practicing this aria and try to find out your voice color also. Many of bass-baritones have difficulties to decide their voice type from the begining of their voice training. So it's not bad to test your voice color through trying various kind of bass arias.

  • How dare a young man like you have such a great bass voice - reminding me firmly why I didn't take up singing as a career !

    Well done & good luck.

  • Thank you for your kind words. My voice, I believe, came from my parents. There are many people with good voice, however not many good singers even rarer artist.

I would not be a singer just with good voice but a good artist. Please keep looking at my works further..I would love to show you my progress.

  • Nice!

  • Thanks!

  • Nicely done! I look forward to hearing more.

  • @dngrbunny Thank you. If you were in europe, I could invite you to my performance...I hope I can show you improvement always.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Perhaps as your career progresses and you gain recognition you may give a performance in the US. someday.

Meanwhile, I will enjoy your posts on YT.

    Merry Christmas,

    Dayna

  • I was going to do this piece for contest in high school back in 2001, but opted for another. Went back and learned it for an audition.

Excellently done, one of the best I've seen.

  • @LordEnigma Thank you! You could try again to sing this aria...!

  • You're welcome, and I did end up singing that aria in an audition, though I didn't get in (They said afterwards they had no parts open and were just auditioning for people to replace if they suddenly left)

  • awesome bass :D!!!!!!

  • @cansooon Thank you !!

  • This is tough to do effectively without the chorus, and for that reason is perhaps not ideal as a recital piece. But you sing this nicely. You do seem a bit fidgety--you might relax and try for more stillness of delivery, and be mindful that every gesture really means something in context. Not easy in recital, but it really adds to the majesty of this piece when done well.

  • Beautiful bass. One of the best Sarastros on Youtube!

  • Thank you for your comments. I'm improving myself more..and soon I will let you listen the result. :)

  • what are u saying..u are jocking i hope....

  • Very nice; you can add more musicality if you get some inspiration from Robert Lloyd. Inspiration, not imitation! Keep it up,

    Joseph

  • Rober Lloyd is one of the greatest bass of course. I'm concentrating myself on musicality thesedays also.

  • your german is pretty good, this is a very good recording. Got a bit to go before you're the next kurt moll though :D

  • Very kind of you. I've listened the last concert of Kurt Moll and really inspired..It's a long way to be a good bass.

  • I thought it was good. Also the pronunciation of the German was right on.

  • This was a really great rendition, man, good work! I also sing this, though I'm not a profondo, so my Fs are a bit lacking in... 'size'. Yours were really great, though! :)

  • Your voice is beautiful.

  • Thank you..

  • well i am a basso profundo as well Mr. White profundo. And this is good for an amateur and not terrible at all. At least this guy is a legitimate bas. Which is unlike so many other people who attempt o sing this song.

  • You have a lovely voice. I truly enjoyed hearing that. Best wishes for continued success.

  • Please excuse me for saying this one bad word,I had a really bad day, many musicians aren´t very human and I have problems with that;it´s difficult,to make it short here, but I try,at first, what isn´t that bad is the good balance of power you use, keep that,it´s really ok for this aria,I mean,Sarastro PRAYS here and it´s not necessary to sing like Wagner here(I mostly do that,so it´s more exciting!),be careful of your pronunciation and take care, that your tones don´t go behind to your neck.Useful?

  • Terrible.

  • Coul you tell advice me in which aspect it is terrible? Then it could be helpful to improve myself. thanks.

  • Could you be interested, Mr. Ohu? I am still searching a good bass singer who will sing my translations of this aria with my own text and who doesn't live at the other end of the world. I have already translated this aria into 30 languages, which wasn't so difficult, because the text is simple. As I can play the piano, we could work together and put all versions into "Youtube".

  • On the contrary, I find it very good. There is a lot of strength in this voice. One thing must be clear: No human being is perfect, that also means that no singer is perfect. Even in those that are seen like "gods" (for example famous opera singers) I could discover some mistakes, if I really wanted to do that. I know well enough about what I am writing. I am neither a singer nor a composer, but a translator of such pieces of music into many languages, so also this aria, but with my own text.
