Canon TX-1 Brooklyn Test Shoot

I am trying to learn more about the TX-1 and found your vid. It is definitely one of the best videos I have seen on You Tube from a visual content point of view. You have a an excellent eye for artistic angles and scenes.

Actually, no i wouldn't.....unless you had a tripod and planned on NOT zooming in and out frequently.

Thanks, I thought WMV-HD would look good but on youtube it was just ok. Video with alot of motion like water looks the worst. I'll take a look at streamclip.

Excellent video, very well one. I uploaded a TX1 test video but still not so great on youtube. Yours looks very good. What format did you use?

I use software called 'MPEG STREAMCLIP'. I export movie as quicktime, limit bitrate to 900 or 1000 KBPS, encode audio as AAC 128kb. Basically, experiment until you get a happy file size with good looking footage. i did maybe 5 or 6 different encodes before i was happy. Honestly, YouTube flips everything to Flash Video, which makes everything look soft anyway. I think this video does not look so good compared to the original footage, which is beautiful.

Awesome Video, I ordered a Tx1 Yesterday, and wanted to see some footage from the cam. Very impressed. I was however under the impression that the cam does film in slow mo, am I mistaken?

thanks for the response. there are a bunch of online retailers including amazon that are claiming this camera has a "time lapse" movie mode that shoots at 1 or 0.5 fps. i didnt see anything about it in the manual so i'm going to assume it's just bs.

I see. did you lock exposure on all your shots as well? I just got my tx1 in the mail today. this video was a real selling point. I'm trying to figure out how to use the time lapse feature but i cant find it anywhere. I'm beginning to think amazon lied to me.

There is no time lapse on this video camera. i did my time lapse in iMovie HD by speeding up a shot i took. Not many consumer level video cameras can do time lapse. This camera is capable of doing long exposures while shooting stills, maybe that is your confusion. i did not use exposure lock, rather always set ISO to HI. This camera does not do that well shooting indoors, if you do shoot indoors, use a tripod and keep the camera still. godd luck, looking forward to seeing your vids!

I shot in Manual the whole time. Picked good shots with good light. Made sure i paid attention to ISO, focus and other stuff.
