Guys, I neither doubt LoL copied DotA nor I doubt DotA is much more flexible and complex as much as meta is concerned. I played serveral hundred games in both DotA and LoL and I cant say one of this games is better. While DotA has more depth I think LoL has a much faster and straight forward gameplay. Riot changed the game they copied and developed a new one. They changed the game and created something new tough the basics are the same. I like these gameplay changes but I cant speak for everyone

@fudgeisg00d Valve should sue you for slander. DotA 2 is a direct copy of original DotA it's just on its own platform thanks to valve with updated graphics and gameplay. DotA was the original game that HoN was inspired from which essentially was a copy of DotA with a bunch of minor tweaks.

@samsocccerboy1 I know. I didn't mean DotA was the original map of its kind. I was just stating that in relation to LoL and DotA 2, they are both games that are based off the original DotA game. The creators of League of Legends were on the DotA team and as I stated DotA 2 is pretty much an exact replica of DotA just on its own engine which allows so much more room as far as future development goes. Heck DotA wasn't even the first AoS style map on Warcraft III it's just the one that caught on.

Hell it doesn't eve have a release date yet... for all we know they could re-make all the characters so they're wearing spandex and set the game on the moon. Guinsoo aka Steven Feak was one of the main creators for DotA: Allstars but now is recruited by Riot games who created LoL and is one of their main developers now, when developing LoL he added SOME similar things to DotA but kept quite a few things different (easier to kill characters in LoL, believe me I've played both the games) plus whats stopping you from playing all the Moba games? I think, if it would really be that simple, all DotA players would go to LoL or the other way round. Having a gun and being able to jump etc, is charasteristic for a FPS.

The only real differences between LoL and DotA are denying and bushes. Saying this means it is NOT a clone is like removing one vehicle from BF3, adding one gun and saying it's not a clone.

The graphics of the effects (spells) are awful compared to HON.

Lina should have effects like Pyromancer in HON but it's nowhere near it, actually even War3FT has way better designed spells.

It has nothing to do with the engine, Valve has some lazy sprite designers working on Dota 2.

1. Pick one hero that won’t feed the solo lane versus 2, like Puck or Clockwerk. Also, pick Shadow Friend. He’s beastly, broken and can deal out a lot of damage at level 1. His presence -5 armor.

2. Trilane Anti-mage because pub players in Beta never suspect the double support trilane. They wiped, whine and blame the middle solo player for not ganking. Once the team falls apart, the game degenerates. Good support heroes for this are Lich, Ancient Apparition.
