  • Fuck. This is so fucking good.

  • Agreed. I'm buying this album.

  • Rate me R- My kinda Music-a

    .

  • amazing

  • as long as I don't have to see Grohl in a dress and pigtails on Tv , I am happy

  • This song will write History.

  • Ha! Reminds Me of Grange Hill! Awesome!

  • ahahaha, mintit, it totally does as well!!

  • big fan of the bass work in this one

  • great album. REAL Talent.

  • Harder, Better & Stoned!!! really good!!!

  • 2:22 has a pink-floydness to it

  • Absolutely killer, great grove, can hear JPJ's influences,,,awesome..

  • I need Josh Homme like I need air.

  • @TheGreatRamrod

I need Dave Grohl like I need air.

  • 100 percent agreement

  • Sounds like Josh had several "Bowie" moments when singing this!

  • Wow I think that SFTD and Rated R are my least favourite albums. Their Self titled is awesome and Era Vulgaris is close behind. the three that are between them are much closer to each other and I like lullabies better.

  • I am a huge qotsa fan, however I don't like anything post SFTD. This song is a great example, fucking amazing riff but they basically just give up on the chorus and just add in effects and layering. Maybe I'm just not getting it. Oh well I'll still see them live who am I kidding.

  • they made two albums since SFTD, and if you don't like anything post-SFTD, then how are you a huge fan?

    just messing with you.

  • if you don't like their first 2 albums, you are not a huge qotsa fan. period. rated R has some of their best songs. how can a qotsa fan not love "i think i lost my fucking headache" and "the feel good hit of the summer."

  • No man I said I don't like their last two. There first 3 are gold.

  • love that funky beat :P

  • just sound like auto wah with a short filter setting, and maybe a subtle octaver on the bass.

  • Ooh yeap, Gunman Gooseman

  • i dont think that this group will last more than 2 records .

this is more a fun project than a serius project.

anyway , the song is good and only that matter .

  • wow josh sounds so young

  • For the main riff, is josh using Flagger or Phraser

  • I've tried both and phaser sounds similar to this. so i'd go with phaser.

  • Thanks man, trying to tab this myself and both effects sound the same to me :P

  • *flanger

  • sounds more like an auto-wah/envelope filter to me.

  • I was just correcting his spelling

  • autowah/envelope filter definitely.

  • It makes me happy that JPJ is doing this. A full-on Zep reunion sounds cool, until I think about how most bands that reunite sound, especially with new material.

Sure, I'm only a fan and don't know their lives, but I would rather see Zep remain gods that to make new stuff that wasn't nearly as good as their old stuff (how could it be?).

    This is a great album,

  • you wouldn't know disco if it crawled up the inside of your leg and took your last testicle. this song is groooovolicious

  • this is fuckin amazing!

  • Holy shit. Definitely one of the best on the album; it's just awesome.

  • music from the musicians that have been rockin and shaping music for the last 40 years, how could you go wrong?

  • repeated listenings yield great rewards

  • Anyone think that like a lot of the songs on here would be awesome to dance to? Like that funky discoey sound in Guman sounds so awesomee

  • I think that is a good way to envision Homme and JPJ Zeppelin songs. Just picture walking somewhere you wanna be, or your "lady on the streets freak in the sheets" dancing really close to you.

  • they just don't make music like this anymore! its just great musicianship. gotta love josh's guitar and vocals..

  • best there is at it.

  • The vocals in this are seriously Bowie reminiscent, I love this track!

  • What the--- How many strings does a bass have???

  • Such beautiful guitar sound. And vocals. And bass. And drums. Beautiful :)

  • Doesn't this sound like something you'd hear from Era Vulgaris?

  • I really can't tell if the sexy part in this song is Homme or JPJ. Is it a bass or a guitar?

  • I feel like I just had hot sex with Josh Homme's guitar

  • As much as I love ths album it has me really worried about the future of the queens. I predict this band to be fucking huge so big that it might dwarf qotsa. Boo.

  • Nah, they're going to back together in the coming months.

  • how the hell would you know that ? ....you don't .

  • Troy said as much. Unless you consider him an unreliable source.

  • hrm can't see it. I don't think Josh would want to do that (hes got a load of side projects anyway, and none have 'replaced' queens) and I don't think Dave would want to break up the Foos.

  • dave prbly didnt break up with the foos, hes also drumming for his metal band probot

  • Probot isn't a band and doesn't exist anymore. And I was talking hypothetically; 'Dave *wouldn't* want to break up the foos'

  • Hopefully. But Joey's with EODM, Troy with sweethead, Dean is a permanent Dead weather member and Mikey Shoes is with Mini mansions. Foo's are gonna break up I reckon and JPJ is a free agent who i think would love to keep this trio going, so as much as I hate it there is a real good chance of no more queens which is a dying shame coz IMO they are the greatest band of all time.

  • >_> dean is a permanent member of a not permanent band lol

QOTSA hasn't ever had concrete members outside of Homme. He'll find more members if they don't come back. If anything, Josh Freese'll be there lol

  • nothing could ever dwarf queens of the stone age, this is just the orgasmic appetizer preceeding the next album

  • I think if Jones had joined Humble Pie or the Faces instead they would have ended up as big as Zep . He is the secret ingredient .

  • Good shit, badass riff.

  • fuck this is good, hes kinda singin like david bowie.. its fucken awsome..

  • yeah i hear it too

  • my favourite song on the album

  • The guitar is so damn filthy in this song!

  • filthy.

  • Mmmm

  • This album is as good as Mine.

  • dats reminds me of whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • you have never heard Jones solo albums I assume . Jones is all over this album

  • Comment removed

  • that riff reminds me of deep purple's Sail Away

  • Yes you're right, a wee bit faster, but basically the same, initial riff.

  • I think for all the ghrolites and jpj fans that hate on homme they should re evaluate that they are choosing to work with him so stop hating on homme he is easily over 1 third of the vultures driving force...

  • Well, liking this album is basically a thing that completely ruins the credibility of the "I hate Homme" argument, since the Homme-influence can be very, very clearly seen here. And I even am not a Homme fanboy (should listen to his works more, though), JPJ and Grohl are both awesome as well. A dream team, one could say. :P And yeah, awesome album, gotta buy it when it comes out.

  • Yeah, definitely not my favorite song on the S/T, but certainly dance-able.

I'll give Josh (who wrote most of the songs, he said in an NME interview) one thing: No matter how much he indulges in the "rock star" act, he's always trying something new. This sounds like nothing he's written, except the solo, which bears a superficial resemblance to the keys in Desert Sessions "Cake"...

  • ill bite, actually alot of this album sounds like a wide variety of Josh's and friends' older work

  • To Niggags: I meant "gunman" specifically rather than the album. Don't you agree?

  • ah definately, sorry so much room for shit said to be misconstrude

  • This song gets your blood pumpin' and feet movin'! Fucking sick.

  • ¡¡¡¡buena mi blackperry!!!!

  • hmm....i think i might write like this.... aswell

  • anyone else wanna dance?

  • to MegaDaldo...Chill out kid...well 30 years old one...how sad

  • Yep 30, I'm a burned out old asshole. I aint hip, and thats fine. When I was in my teens I wasn't hip either because Weezer, The Presidents of the United......, and shit like that was cool. I was Into Pantera, Rush, Slayer, and Zepplin, of course. Few bands have real staying power, and the radio stations here in Utah are simp as fuck, and wear out the good bands. Anyway today I'd rather hear QOTSA than Zep. I'd rather hear Akercocke than Slayer, or Porcupine Tree to Rush, so whatever.

  • @MegaDaldo I dont think anyone cares about you... goin on about how "un hip" you are... get over yourself.. im cool coz i say im cool and thats all that counts. get it?

  • did you say megadildo?! hahaha

  • sounds a bit like bowie in the chorus

  • I have no words to describe what i fell when this song plays... AMAZING

  • I suppose if you can play stairway to heaven at the age of 9, you must have captured the essence of Zeppelin...

  • massive fuckin echoes on this tune, creepy in a reaal good way. cant stop invisioning those skeletons dancing from the small clip they released haha

  • the best band in the world! :?)

  • "Gunman" is this albums "Misfit Love" Sexy!

  • check out PROBOT, you hacks

  • Fuck yes, maybe JPJ can grab some well deserved time in the limelight. He has been overshadowed by the other dudes in that one overrated 70's band with the shitty vox. Josh and Dave are both the real deal and its time the mainstream world got a fucking clue about how bad it needs to douche. So here it is you pussies, applicator and all, self contained and springtime FRESH!

  • you got it right, only mainstream is as bad as the government they control the masses. Which snuffs out the individuals like us.

  • so zeppelin is overated..wow

  • @MegaDaldo you are an idiot. yes they are awesome, but that doesnt excuse your dickhead-edness

  • are you saying that zeppelin sucks?because i think ur saying zeppelin sucks, little dipshit get some ears. Music is not supose to look good but sound good.

  • @MegaDaldo: Music is completely subjective. To give other people shit about what they like or don't like makes you look like an ignorant, know-it-all douchebag.

  • You are right, let me back up. LedZep are one of THE bands that pioneered modern rock and deserve their place in the upper echelons of music. The issue I have with them is they are one of many, and not the end all. They as a whole were greater than the sum of their parts, and J.P.J deserves more credit for his contributions.

  • "Zepplin"

10/10, would be trolled again, excellent service A+++

  • PERV .

  • I like the way you think. Kill today's popular music with a knife and let's hear bands with TALENT who won't make shitty music because it's safe and what the masses want to hear.

  • This sounds amazing!!

  • ok first he played in nirvana the foo fighters and in the 1st album its ALL dave hes also called drain bramage so you all cane stick that in you juice box and SUCK IT!!!!!!

  • This album sounds phenomenal

  • and he mostly only played drums on recordings.. not live.. they had a band percussionist.. mr. billy goldsmith.. so SUCK IT!! he wasnt the only drummer like he is in this band.. and nirvana...

  • i wasnt aware of that.. no need to tell me to suck it though.. seems a bit rude for an honest mistake... ass.

  • Is this album Josh Homme's "Ten"?

  • Stone Age Zeppelin Foo Queen Led Fighter

  • well it cant have anything to do with foo fighters if yall are gonna mash up the names.. cause dave grohl played drums for nirvana and not foo fighters.. so it would be more appropriate to have something about nirvana.. but even then dave was the original drummer (or one of them) for Qotsa.. so you could just leave it as queens of the zeppelin or something.. but honestly the name "them crooked vultures" is bad ass enough

  • FALSE! Dave Grohl plays drums on the first two Foo Fighters records. So suck it.

  • 3...he played on TINLTL

  • i thought they had taylor hawkins by then? at least it has a picture of him dave and nate inside the record cover

  • pretty sure he was the touring drummer by then, but i think i read something where Dave played on the 1st three...but i could be wrong

  • my bad...you're correct...i think Dave played on a couple tracks tho

  • Led Fighters of the Queens?

    LMFAO!!

But anyways... this song is soo Awesome and it has a touch of Groovy. lol

  • Led Queens of the fighters

  • sounds like a Stoned Zeppelin Fighter.

  • yes it is epic u just dont have good taste in music

  • I say "Fighters of the Stone Zeppelin" if it has to be a mashup of the names

but I like "Them Crooked Vultures" better

and yeah THIS SONG IS EPIC

  • this has to be the sexiest song on the album.

  • Pure brilliance...

  • Deep Jimi and the Zep Creams........wait, that's actually a band.

  • Age of the FooLed?

  • Stone Fooled Queens? :)

  • or maybe just 'THEM CROOKED VULTURES' lol

  • Led Queen Fighters

  • FooLed Stone Age?

  • yeah man me too but this is fuckin awesomme!!

  • Ladies and gentlemen: Kings of the Led Age!

  • Age of the Led Fighters?

  • lol that promo video with the skeletons totally suits this song

  • e z now

  • Super Disco Breakin... f'kin awesome

  • wu woh wow wu waga waga wau woo!

  • wah pedal is sexy

  • Grange Hill!!!

  • Feels good!

  • This song is amazing.... this song is da shit!!!!

  • DISCO FUNK ROBOT DRUGS

  • GO BENDER GO! LOL!

  • holy fuck this is so great. i feel like a cock for just saying "great", but seriously! in every sense of the word. well done, gentlemen!

  • why did we have to wait so long for music as insanely good as this? I no longer have to dust down my 70's vinyl now

  • fuckin eargasmic

  • This shit is like an orgasm of fuck and rock and roll in my soul.

  • This sums it up pretty fuckin well!

  • Great song! Def my favorite of the album!

  • Comment removed

  • The way this song ends really reminds me of the ending to Heartless by Heart. Just the whole off beat aspect of it with the sudden drop off.

  • i think its sounds more like them crooked vultures.

  • This is the funkiest song on the album.

  • i think i hear a little bit of insane kickass in this song. make that ALOT of kickass.

  • All these people who "hear" other artists in the song are silly.

  • EXACTLY! People are always wanting to do that, trying to find similarities. It shits me to tears.

  • my god so many movies are gonna have TCV soundtracks..

  • total AIC!!

  • The best one by far!

  • this is weird i feel as if this is a alice in chains song

  • It's def an AIC type harmony. Josh must be a fan because this ain't the first time he's done it.

  • If you can't hear a Bowie influence in that then it is YOU!!!

  • this totally has a Bowie feel to it

  • Why are you guys talking about Bowie?! It's just stupid talk.

  • no way dude... listen!
