  • Love the bullet list.

  • 26 Boy-lovers disliked the video.

  • i find it funny how on EVERY kinetic typography someone asks what software was used.

  • @Alucardracula13

And will you please share that out source information ?

  • @plan101 Adobe After Effects -_-'

  • the calm swirls at the end of the vid didnt make me think of the quiet anxiety that the persian messengers must of felt at that moment.

  • i always wonder why he says "those boy lovers" like it was something bad. in fact spartans prefered the love to a man over the love to a woman. women were the weaker gender and homosexuality was superior over them. at least, thats what history tells.

  • how did you do the trees effects from 0:35 to 1:13 ?? please teach me

  • @brenobigi i'm not the creator of this video but i do it like this: you first make the trees, so you make the swirls and curls, then you place them on your worksheet, then apply a mask on the trees, covering them fully, and as time passes slowly delete the masks upwards making it look like the trees are growing

  • very cool dude

  • cool video, and i like the font choice for the sparta at the end. as glassminimalist said, it was originally a comic book.

  • Y'know, call me crazy, but I thought that the way "Sparta" was written at the end wasn't half bad--seeing as how "300" was originally a comic book and all. It actually seemed like a neat little call back to the origins of the film.

  • You know how he says Athenians are Boy Lovers? ACTUALLY! Spartans were known to have... Fuck it lets just go with Sex..With other men.

  • @ForTheCodmunity yeah but didn't athenians prefer -young boys-?

  • @ForTheCodmunity But they are not quite as known as the Atheniansare, for having sex with boys, as in young males. As is what he said. He did not mean men, he literally meant boys.

  • This is TYPOGRAPHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

  • Maaaaan, the sparta font at the end really killed the experience! Awesome overall presentation BTW.

  • i like the use of the flourishes, very nice but i do have to say i think at the end when Leonidas yells "sparta" the font could have been different something a little more of a brutal style to it would have done better but thats my thoughts good job all in all

  • I was the 300th to like the video xD

  • @nandafm88 noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    you fool............

  • Ooooooooooooh I love it lol

  • dude. don't blame the messenger. What a douche D:

  • all of the people who do kinetic typography are seriously talented and i am so jealous. i would NEVER be able to do that! especialy from 0:37.

  • OMG! Brilliant. only once ikkle thing, if i had to maike one, and that is the end "Sparta" part, it should be bigger and bolder, in my opinion. but tbh, i loved it so much, i aint too fussed. lol. Great job.

  • Love the use of Evolution. It's a personal favorite of mine. Nice work

  • And an Internet Meme was born!

  • The exclamation point turning into a question mark in 2:12 was really great. It looked almost like a raised eyebrow.

  • Only bit of advice is; I was expecting huge, grungy font for the word "Sparta!", instead of greyish black, you should have used red. Thus making it more dynamic/

  • best kinetic ive ever seen

  • lmao, I fuckin loved it! - I was expecting a SUPER HUGE dope ending...But..It did it for me....5 stars yo!

  • That is AWESOME!! I love the rhythm of the text and the growing plant animations or watever u call that, which starts at 0:36. How did u do dat or wer du get it even?

  • very nice!

  • Clears his throat and goes into his best Spartan king impression------ THIS...IS. AWESOME!!!!!

  • YOU rock!!! :D How did you learn to do that did you use Aae?

  • MR.EKO!!!!

  • The only thing I can think of to complain is the "Spartaa" word, to me it's not as POWERFUL like the rest. Other than that, outstanding job.

  • @IOS123

I think the problem wasn't that it was bad font, but rather that it was in little letters when all the rest WERE IN CAPS.

  • @h3lblad3 See my point is, the word "Spartaa" should be the emphasis of this typography, but then you made it looks like you spend the least time on. With the non-cap and low opacity doesnt make it stand out, while i think that word is the whole reason why you made this. Hope that make some sense :|

  • I do not have words for how awesome this is.

  • boylovers was pink

  • lmao OOOOOOOOOOOOH

  • My new favourite. You did a great job of accenting the important words but the font at the end ugh 4.5/5

  • i love it!

  • Fuck outta here with that hippie shit

  • stupid hippie

  • the OOOH part made me laugh

  • OOOOOOOOOH

  • I love it! Great creativity and use of lists. This. Is. Quality!

  • you can hear gerard butler's scottish accent creeping through

  • I loved it, very nice job.

  • i love the ooooooooo's lol

  • i love what you did with the yellow lines sweet as

  • That's excellent! I love the lists lol!

  • Madness... This is SPARTA!!!!

  • Im not sure that the Evolution Vines where well suited for this, As you chose to do 300 as some Kinetic Typography i would have suggested a colour scheme more fitting to the graphic novel, perhaps a grey/black background with red text? or the golden waves of the wheat-fields?

Good piece of typography though, keep it up!

  • Well it worked. The words were red, which was Sparta's color for their capes and sails.

And the yellow Evolution Vines happened during a scene where they were staring at golden wheat-fields, so...

If it had been some kind of intense battle scene, then yeah, grey/black/red/etc. But this was sunlight, stone buildings, spartans, and fields of wheat.

  • i didnt like the font that you chose for sparta at the end

  • What's that spin effect thing at 0:36?

  • It's a vector-image spinning around its center.

The vines are from Andrew Kramer's Evolution DVD.

  • @bartje006 Where would we be without Videocopilot and andrew Kramer :D

  • @bartje006 Looks like a Fanta commercial

  • @ajt1012 florals that he just stuck together. I bet its from video copilot's evolution series.

  • i like the OOOOHHHH Behind the tree. That tree was mesmerizing

  • niiiiccee

  • Best Kinetic I've ever seen! MASTERFULLY DONE!

  • awesome!1oneone

  • THAT. WAS. AWESOOOME!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent work!

  • where i can find the tutorial for make

    this 0:51

  • Not to take away from the magic of it but those are a series of strung together flourishes from the "Evolution" collection you can buy from "Video Copilot". They also have many free tutorials for After Effects.

  • Hahaha, Choooose

  • King Leonidus sounds Scottish.

  • Gerard Butler is Scottish.

  • it is leonidas

  • Wow!

    Very creative use of typography!

  • Very Nice!

  • What software did you use for this? Adobe Premier?

  • Adobe After Effects.

  • Lol, I liked the whole "Ooooooooo" effect when the song in the background played. XD

  • ANDREW KRAMER IS A GOD!

  • How do you know he made it?

  • He didn't made it. But his site is very helpful and I used some flourishes from his 'Evolution' product.

  • he created evelution animation wich is what this person used in his video

  • Sparta should've had a sans serif font, something bold :P Great work though!!

  • Greeks write in a very very sans-serif way I guess

  • it's Trajan Pro Bold...

  • Not sure if you have, i think you used after effects to create this text animation. I'm trying to learn after effects by myself, just started actually, could you give hints on how you did yours, or direct me to tutorials online that shows how to make nice videos like these? Thanks

  • Creo que es el mejor motion graphic tipográfico que he visto nunca. Formidable!

  • Very nice all through, but the ending was a let down. Sparta was supposed to be much more Bigger, Bolder, Stronger, heavier, the opposite of what you used.

Killed the ending, but the whole thing was very well done.

  • nice...

  • EXCELLENT!

  • the ending was so lame!

  • I loved it, but I was expecting Sparta to be more bold. Other than that it was kick ass.

  • meh + too long

  • Long live Andrew Kramar

  • Oh my god... the font for "sparta" sucks big time. Killed the ending.

  • @Webbaren aggreed

  • @Webbaren If he used a sharper font it would have made it better.

  • @Webbaren Seriously... If it were a lot bigger, and had more of a metal-ish tone, and a lot more blood splatter, then it would fit in much more.

  • The color scheme goes well actually.

  • That Was Amazing How You Used The Vector Stems Effect For The Fields Scene ,

  • nice BT ;)

  • the ending could have been way better

the only thing i liked was the part the music plays, but is that considered typography, but a very good job overall

  • Oh this is amazingly beautiful.

  • That was great...

My only complaint would be the choice of font for the word "SPARTAAAA!" at the end. Other than that, excellent work. Did you draw all the vector swooshes out yourself?

  • i agree about the font in the end, but except for that, awesome work!

  • yeah i agree. i actually lol'ed when i saw that. it looked kinda funny. other than that is was great. I want to learn how to make these

  • evolution :)

  • pretty cool stuff :-)

  • How the hell do you do those vine-like things? Is that masking? That looks fantastic!

  • It is in AE, its using the keyframing in the grafitti text style. It is like masking, but a little bit easier than masking every frame, because instead you can set out a path and then just set where along the path it is at the time. So basically he drew along the whole thing, then went to the start of the text and had it showing nothing, then to the end and had it show everything. Its pretty easy, go to videocopilot(dot)net and watch the graffiti tutorial for more info on it.

  • Wow, thank you for that link. I've been going through that site today and last night, it's very helpful.

    Thank you!

  • Not a problem its an awesome site xD

  • nice

  • Sick work right here brother.

    SICK WORK!

I hope people show you love cause this is great, you really gave it a good feel.

If you still have the project on your compy you should go back and tone the colors more to the 300 grundge though, it seemed to bright the majority of the time. The 300 color scheme was really what made that movie.

    Again, awesome video!

  • Ha!, 300 is popcorn.

  • pwn.

  • Very nice typography work here :)

  • im coming from the VCP forums... this is awesome!! (VCP name: tequilaman2006) i commented there as well.
