lcd screens have a crap lifespan and frankly its concept is the stupidest way to make a picture you can get a picture with a CRT tube and a voltage, these stupid lcds screens need a hole motherboard just to display a picture they have dead pixels and stuck pixels lousy view angles and suffer from ghisting +

to top it off these days you can only get stretch o vision distorted images on 16.9 which sucks

crt's generaly give better colour reproduction and faster responce times, ect compared with lcd's, but the slimer style and lighter weight makes them ideal for logistic purposes.

we could stack loads onto a palette-probaly 6 22" boxes as aposed to one 20" crt.

you can lift a 50" plasma on your own, a 50" crt would weigh half a ton.

monitors wont stretch anything because photoshop and other programs would run on 1900x1200 which is the native... this only happens if the feed, such as games, is under the native.. it will either cut it (1 to 1 pixel map) or just stretch it...

there are no "square lcds" in this res.. maybe you should get rid of your 15" crt, its lousy

i have this monitor, its great. One disadvantage with digital picture controls is you dont have the flexibility of turning a knob to adjust. I just love the old feeling and speed of turning a knob to adjust settings. Most plastic and metalic items on the markiet are proven to be uncomfortable for ergonomics and skeletal system. I actually have to wear gloves to operating a plastic keyboard as the keys are painfull on my bones. I find gloves help me be more efficient on domestic items

why do the lcd tv always have just vga input and not dvi. I have seen some of the smaller lcd tvs have dvi input but not the larger ones. THe also restrict the resolution to 1900x1080 which makes pc text look fuzzy. PC looks best on 1900x1200 lcd screen. They are restricting it. their is virtually no difference between lcd hd tv and lcd hd pc monitor. just the tv tuner. the should up the res of lcd tv to 1900x1200 for when you connect a pc and auto select 1920x1080 for hd tv mode.

This could be an early version 1 screen or the PVA version, but the W240D you buy in the shops today has 3000:1 DC (not 1000 he quoted). Its also a 2ms screen (not 5ms he quoted).

2ms 24" screens are not rare, but ones this cheap that dont have a high input lag are! This is a good budget 24" LCD that you can use for gaming.

Eg: Samsung T240 has about 50ms lag, this has about 20ms peek

Actually you guys are both right. This monitor comes in both PVA and TN form, this here is the TN model and the reason for the faster response time. The PVA model is the W241D, and to be honest the TN panel on this one is not crap, looks almost as good as the PVA model, seen them both in person. Though the TN banding is a little more apparent, but very acceptable.

I have got this screen and have my gamecube connected to it by component, xbox 360 connected to by VGA and my pc connewcted to it by DVI and I can safely say it effin rocks. The nearest real competitor is $200 more expensive. It has everything but the brand kudos. 9/10 for sure! (can't beat 1920 x 1200 on AOE3!)

I just got one of these hyundai monitors, maybe the next model up. I'm amazed all my standard dvds are looking amazing at 1900x1200. I think it looks better than dvds running through normal lcd hd tv. Would my standard def dvds not look as good on a normal 1080p tv as this monitor? Would a lcd tv play standard dvds at 1920x1080 as gud as my hd pc monitor. I dont think they look as good as the monitor

Nice colours, excellent viewing angles.

W240D-TN => With the 2ms response time

W240-PVA => With a 5ms response time.
