  • Judo for life!!!

  • in the first UFC a lot of rednecks

  • @marshallBrasil1 Home of marcial artes de bacla! HAHAHA!

  • BJJ= marciales artes de bacla! HAHAHAHA!

  • i take gracie jiu-jitsu

  • reality, for most the people who fought royce gracie in the early days of ufc was gettin choked!

    truth be told.

  • Does kodokan judo require more speed and strength than other arts?

  • @k00lkane

No, quite the opposite. But don't be fooled: strength and speed always helps, regardless of system.

  • Someone mentioned ... Penn is Jitsu and GSP beat him . GSP is a fucking black belt jitsu dude. If your not very skilled a jitsu .. Don't bother fighting

  • almost like a tekken story

  • Gracie talks about "traditional japanese jiu-jitsu" as the origin of BJJ. Maeda who taught Carlos Gracie wasnt of traditional jiu-jitsu. He was a Kodokan Judoka. Tell the story straight ass face.

  • @ScanianLeather666 Story Straight or not straight, why don't you just go out and make a name for yourself. Are you competing or just a YouTube opinion retard....

  • @ScanianLeather666

Can't blame them. They believe what they are saying. 70 plus years of dogma. But, you are correct. Maeda trained sumo and then judo. He never trained a Koryu jujutsu system. But back then, overseas especially, the term judo hadn't stuck and "jiu-jitsu" was still being used to describe any Japanese hand-to-hand method.

  • Nazi salute at 5:11? I've heard people say it's a savate or kyokushin salute but I have my doubts given the swastika Gordeau later got tattooed on his arm.

  • I disagree with rogan. Boxing is not a more dangerous sport, simply because when youre knocked out, it's over. You can grab onto them also somewhat in the clinch. Once a person is down for 10, its over. In the UFC, once youre out cold on the mat, the fighter typically has time to hit you with 2 or 3 more punches while your defensless before the ref ends the bout.

  • you have to understand bjj(vale tudo) and muay thai are both initially illegal in most countries except thailand and brazil..thats why its late to develop to other countries.saying its more effective than other martial arts is stupid.having more rules doesn't mean its a bad martial arts.its a good martial art because its safe.

  • @khairuleven Muay thai is legal in usa

  • Gracie = legend

  • I've been training in karate for nearly 20 years and i can say honestly that a classical karate man would loose 9/10 times to a BJJ man. Karate simply does not have the the platform of skills and stratagies to deal with high speed graple and floor fighting, it doesn't even aknowledge the real of the floor. Karate only really works best againt karate.

  • @qetoun Tell that to all the jackie chans who think they can just wing chung some dude cause he watches the matrix, they still think u can land spinning jump kicks on people 8 ft 6

  • @qetoun I know someone who is 3. Dan in Taekwondo and 2 degree black belt in Judo. He says he could beat the shit out of any BBJ fighter . He can strike deadly and on the ground a skilled Judoka is capable of dealing with BJJ easily.

  • Your friend is delusional.

  • @qetoun as the name implies ultimate fighting is about taking aspects from every style. even greco roman wrestling techniques can help compliment the weakness of jui jitsu as can karate help compliment the striking ability of a mui thai fighter. every style has its strenghts and weakness. lyoto machida is a good modern example of a hybrid fighter using karate kicks and strikes for effective motion and speed. I wouldnt be suprised to see the next breed of fighers start using wing chun

  • @qetoun Also wortks good against people who don't know how to fight. I wasted 5 years on Tae-kwon do but had fun.

  • GREAT VIDEO! THANK YOU FOR POSTING!

  • EPIC!!! Which documentary is this from?

Its kind of like the Ultimate Gracie documentary which is also great.

  • With all due respect: Gracie didn't show everybody the true meaning of MMA, he showed that Jiu Jitsu is probably the most effective way of fighting. MMA is mixing Jiu Jitsu with wrestling, boxing, kickboxing, muy thai,... Gracie never did any of this, just Jiu Jitsu...

  • @vanberla Is Gracie JJ more effective than Professor George Kirby's Budoshin Ju-Jitsu?

The Sensei Mark Jordan says that if you rely on BJJ in the streets, you are dead.

  • @sidewinder188

If you don't have serious ground skills in the street, you're dead. Now, there is some truth to what he's getting at. Pulling guard and such in a real fight is stupid. Clinching, kneeing, takedowns and establishing a superior position like the knee ride is far better, but sometimes you don't have a choice and end up on your back. All those people who rely on finger and wrist locks or groins strikes usually don't last very long in any real fight, sport or street.

  • @bryjitsu So tell me how its possible that I saw so many street fights but none of them ended on ground ??The notion that all street fights end in ground is utterly asinine and has very little to do with reality. What Krav Maga teaches as ground fighting is more than enough to survive a street fight unless of course you are not fighting Mr. Rickson Gracie in a dark alley ! If you are a good striker( Muay Tai or Kick Boxing) and can punch really hard and fast and also kick the groin, you win.

  • @sidewinder188

I've seen/been in plenty of "street fights" and no, not all go to the ground. Especially when the fight you are referring to is actually two guys going macho on each other versus really trying to do permanent damage. Muay Thai is excellent and you can bust someone up quickly using it. I'm not sure what Krav Maga teaches on the ground but you proved my point: you need ground technique. Overall, I think Krav Maga is good if you traing realistically against resisting

  • Opponents. In short, statisically speaking, most fights go to the ground (check the FBI statistics) if they last more than the first several seconds, gound fighting is crucial to self defense, I agree that Muay Thai and other realistic stiking bases systems are great to have and increase your chances of success (I practice muay Thai, and BJJ/judo (about to start SAMBO). But the idea that BJJ can't be used in the street or that people who take turns doing cooperative techniques on each

  • other is more effective is ridiculous. I've trash every traditional jujutsu person I've trained with. That's no testament to me personally but a clear distinction in training methods. I've even had some say, "well if I could bite or groin strike..." to which I've noted that I can bite and groin stike too, the difference being I'll have far more opportunities due to the timing, distance, reflexes developed during actual fighting versus patty cake, take your turn technique training.

  • @bryjitsu What is the difference between traditional Budoshin jujutsu pioneered by Prof. G. Kirby and Mark Jordan in the US and BJJ?? Which is more effective in street situations?

  • @sidewinder188 Kirby is an American jujutsu pioneer and I've always been a fan. They have some very good technique, but they also use some things that won't work. Such as trying to grab someone's jab and apply a wrist lock. It's not that wrist locks don't work. They do. But you'll have far more success applying one when the person is committed to grabbing you in a grappling situation versus trying to catch a limb in the air which is more likely to get you knocked out. As far as...

  • as which is more effective for the street, in general my money is on the BJJ guy, only because I've never been to a BJJ school where they didn't train in a realistic environment and learn to apply techniques against resisting opponents which is the absolute most important element in building real fighting skill. Can't become a good swimmer without swimming and can't build fighting skill without fighting. Some people make the mistake of believing that training "street lethal" techinque

  • like throat and groin strikes, etc is going to put you at an advantage, but it that training just consists of taking turns pretending to fight each other, it's not going to help you. This principle of "alive" training is why judo is better than most if not all traditional jujutsu systems, and why muay Thai, SAMBO, BJJ, boxing, wrestling are all effective. The "sportive" aspect allows the practitioners to build real, applicable skill, to innovate, to discard techniques that don't work

  • and to innovate. Pretending to kick each other in the groin or crush each other's trachea's isn't going to anything to help you with self defense anymore than pretending to ride a horse is going to help you ride a horse. And some people, even in jujutsu circles, do just that: Spend all their time pretending to fight. And they never build real reflexes, timing, footwork, etc. They can't even land a jab much less a throat strike. Where the guy who just boxes can crack someone in the

  • throat at will if he wants because he's sparred for a decade and has all the skills and attributes to actually pull it off. It's not about technique (jab to chin vs. strike to throat) as it is about skill and attributes. Now, that is not to say that BJJ is without criticism. There are schools that mostly spar starting on their knees, that never train in an evironment where striking is allowed, and for self defense purposes, this is a mistake. IMO, training whatever you train in a

  • MMA-rules environment is the best way to develop real fighting skill. Striking only is different than when grappling is allowed and grapppling only is different than when striking is allowed. There are techniques and strategies used in modern BJJ that are not realistic for the street, like the inverted guard, berimbolos, etc. The BJJ of the 1980's, with the focus on self defense- far better in my opinon.

Every art has something to offer, some more than others. But the training

  • environment and focus is paramount. My opinion is this: take any art, karate, boxing, judo, kung fu, muay Thai, etc. and make the people train with minmal rules and in a full contact environment. Over time, their training will change and end the end you will end up with something like looks suspiciously like MMA. Why? Because that is how humans fight and it's inevitable. "Style" exists only in the minds of men.

  • and I apologize for the poor grammar. I should have proof-read before posting but was in a hurry.

  • looks like mortal kombat tournament!

  • Ken Shamrock looks and sounds like Owen Wilson in this vid to me.

  • Jiu Jitsu and Brazil are the best

  • @Heitor3320 But its useless against 2-3 attackers ! A combination of Kick Boxing and BJJ sounds better.

  • when ju jitsu fighters fuck do they use transitions?

  • @samcotton i seriously can see that happen lololol

  • No offence, but does this kinda remind anyone of YipMan 2 where Ip man takes down all the masters and trainers?

  • Wow John coffee is a Gracie black belt!

  • I hate Joe Rogan.

  • Brazilians may have invented the UFC but not BJJ which is Newaza which at one point was part of traditional JJ which was simplified by Jigoro Kano in the early 20th century.

  • In addition we all have now seen what Sakuraba did in early pride days against multiple Bjj. No other style has been able to do what Catch has done. Gracies have gone as far as to say that Saku studied Bjj. Lol... He's a Catch wrestler under the legendary Mr. Billy Robinson. Robinson is truly the last of his kind.

  • Too bad the lost art of hooking, Catch wrestling, wasn't introduced in early UFC. Catch which has made a come back recently has been around before Bjj was even conceived. I'm not putting down Bjj. However Catch is very brutal and effective. It is in my opinion the best submission system out there.

  • @alexpapyz31 i hear you, it works very well.

  • Gracie jiu jitsu sucks not effective

  • @Kentariton Yea thats why police departments and the military incorporate this into their arsenals.

  • @Kentariton of course its effective, Gracie JJ is the pioneer of what Jiu Jitsu is today. Modern Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an evolved form of Grace JJ. The Noguiera brothers trained under the Gracie family and they are Legends in the sport.

  • @Kentariton Yeah, and that's why in early UFCs and worldwide (Vale Tudo Japan-94, 95) Gracie-Jiu-Jitsu members beat every of their opponents!

  • @ussrwrestling lol. .Did any of them ever met a real Russian Sambo fighter? I doubt it.

  • @Kentariton What makes you say that? I am very interested to hear.

  • gracie jiu jitsu is great BUT sakuraba onwed the whole gracie family :)

  • jiu jitsu sucks and is gay

  • @mruck05 i'd like to see oyu say that to a gracie

  • @mruck05 says the fag that looks up "how to make pickup and hookup lines" stupid obese cow.

  • @mruck05 so it means a "gay" can break u arm, leg, neck, put u to sleep in seconds etc etc etc so u are even worst than an avarage "gay" ???

  • @mruck05 gay like you? lol.

  • @mruck05 Idiot!!!!

  • Naga City Camsur. Naghahanap ng training partners 0909-9629553

  • kinda messed up this dude gives no credit to the man who actually taught him and renames that shit GRACIE jiu jitsu

  • @DLeeMusik You on about maeyeda?

  • @DLeeMusik maeada had no part in making bjj he just taught them the original art

  • @ColdSoreIpod he had no part in bjj he just taught them the entire foundation ok thats some good logic right there

  • gerard is a nazi?

  • Where is the rest of this documentary?

  • I only just found out that that kick at 10:08 to the kidney is now illegal in UFC, I assume because of the risk of kidney damage? Anyone know details?

  • How did it cause a negative impact?

  • sprry, 5:54 !!

  • 5:57 for the best part!

  • @iaterex it doesnt work

  • Why is this flagged for 18+?

I mean I can understand that BJJ is beautiful and sexy but still... ^^

  • the boxer made 126 accounts and disliked

  • the boxer made 126 accounts and disliked

  • Ryron is going to kill someone if he fights in the UFC.

  • Much respect to Ken Shamrock, Royce Gracie, Grandmaster Rorion, and the late Grandmaster Helio.

  • man, can we have one MMA video with out someone like Joe mentioning ''boxing''.. shit man, Kick boxing is far more greater danger then 'boxing' then cause you have kicks with it.. kick boxing sells way less then even MMA so i'm sure Kick boxing and Muay Thai belts should be the 'blue print on what not to do'.. no.. they gotta attack boxing.. dude, shit man leave it alone!!!!! why does Joe have to be on a video with real men talking anyway? Go smoke some weed bitch.

  • Brazilians made the ufc

  • @dakewlestkidevr well with the UFC being a mixed martial art fighting competition it includes BJJ, which alot of the fighters train in, I am pretty sure their the professionals and know what to use, not some youtube fag who loves fantasying that he is a martial artist but actually knows something, Royce gracie, best example winning the 1st UFC using brazilian jiu jitsu, so erm carry on watching the tv mate :)

  • Wherer's this from ???

  • 126 people had their asses handed to them by one of the gracies

  • mma would be alot less gay if there were truly no rules and no padded gloves

  • @daw329 it used to be in like the 90s right but people were getting way too hurt

  • @daw329 Then thats not a sport.

  • Legit stuff right here. Anyone know where I can find free UFC?

  • thats the dumbest thing ive read in a while'

    "UFC is better than BJJ"

    -____-

  • @dakewlestkidevr tell your mother I'm coming over to make a mess in her mouth

  • @dakewlestkidevr UFC is not a martial art.

  • ufc is really martail arts serbs are really asshole!

  • @Jaeckrich yea ufc is a company

  • @Jaeckrich How profound.

  • So what's the full name of that doco?

  • I am a blackbelt in MCMAP so GTFO

  • @SGCBallistic mcmap is based on other martial arts..and when it comes down to it..marines kill with guns mostly..so fuck u dumbass..no one is unbeatable or unkillable

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Tell that to chuck norris. BTW I can kill with my hands and KBAR just as good as I can with my 16

  • @SGCBallistic ok good for you..so u can kill the average idiot..whoopy dee doo..

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 You need to do some research bout MCMAP b4 you talk. If you were in front of me I would break you. We train to kill the warriors of every culture and kind. NOT the average idiot like you

  • @SGCBallistic i really wish are great us military didn't have people like you from it..my bro in law and brother are both marines and they don't go online to youtube acting tuff..lmao u think ur kool or something makeing threats online..shouldnt you be killing the worlds deadliest warriors right now instead of talking shit to me..

  • @SGCBallistic i respect the marines and mcmap...i said what i said to see ur true colors and frankly im disappointed mr marine

  • @SGCBallistic Norris was defeated in his first two tournaments, dropping decisions to Joe Lewis and Allen Steen and three matches at the International Karate Championships to Tony Tulleners

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 you are sadly mistaken or making up shit to support your case. Either way, you are still a dumbass. Besides it doesn't matter what other ppl can do, wtf can you do yourself.

  • @SGCBallistic if you dont believe me about chuck norris..wiki it stupid..he lost 10 time in karate tournaments..

  • this video is AWESOME.

  • @TheChidoKrew I am a republican. You will never see me on my back with a man between my legs.

  • @TheRealChaelSonnen Except in a rest stop or something.

  • I'm a "republican" too, and Brazilian Jujitsu is my life passion. So I have no idea what being a Republican has to do with BJJ??? =P

  • @GuamKomudo Let me guess? You condone homosexuality too? Real men dont BJJ. Never have a man in between your legs

  • @TheRealChaelSonnen That statement was quite ignorant, that is all.

  • I'm actually Roman Catholic... There for do not support homosexuality in any way... Also BJj has been proven to be an extremely effective fighting system, and it is my favorite sport. It uses physics and leverage over strength and brute force. Besides if the two guys WERE gay doing it, then it may be weird, but if two straight guys are trying to choke eachother out or bend the other persons arm the wrong way and ONLY that, then it's not gay, at all. Grow up man

  • @GuamKomudo Well said !

  • @TheRealChaelSonnen Homophobe

  • WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A GJJ GUY CANT TAKEA STRIKER DOWN..BANG KO

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 The chances of a GJJ expert not being able to take a striker down is very low.

  • @MrNaySmith umm okay..lol..did you see what silva did to mai.siver did to sotorpilus..now a days gjj doesnt dominate in a pro sport like mma..it might dominate guys from karate schools who never train takedown defense in their life.but not in mma..fact.sorry man..

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Good point, GJJ isn't really a full on combat art though. It's self defense for real life situations, in MY opinion.

  • @MrNaySmith yes its good for self defense as is karate.but remeber it all comes down to the fighter..we can train like crazy and still get beat by a nobody from anywhere who hasnt train a day in there life..

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Your a dumbass

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 "takedown defense" is a part of wrestling/grappling training! It is never taught in kickboxing clubs!

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 >.it might dominate guys from karate schools who never train takedown defense in their life.but not in mma

    So, UFC 1,2, 4 wan't MMA??!

  • @ussrwrestling uh hello what baout ufc 75 through 136..lol.124 was how many years ago..jujitsu doesnt dominte anymore.get over it..look what gsp did to penn

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 That's because everyone in MMA world has become pretty experienced in jiu-jitsu and jiu-jitsu\submission-defense. Also, most of the new rules introductions were mostly anti-ground-fighting (introduction of rounds, stand-ups, etc).

  • @ussrwrestling exactly my point ..even the nogeiras have admit that its a lot harder to submit wrestlers now

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 I don't object this!!!

  • @ussrwrestling good..if you did i would have told you to look at what matt huges did to the gracies and their students

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Nevermind! The Gracies must be honoured that they were the ones who turned interest to and put attention to the importance of grappling.

  • @ussrwrestling yea i honor them but thier time is done ..just like i honor kung fu from the 1800's and early 1900's but its time is done as well and i honor japanese jujitsu but its time is done as well

  • @JUKEBOXX1990

    GSP does Jui Jitsu too!

  • @SkemeKOS yes but penn was the bjj champion..and gsp beat him

  • @JUKEBOXX1990

Yeah but it happens now. The guys are all MMA guys now and are high level martial artists.

No single art dominates anymore, you need to be a complete fighter. If not, you arent going far.

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 GSP does jiujitsu , and he is a very good athlete

everyone knows that bjj is the ultimate martial art , so if your jealous cuz ur some boxing fighter or wrestler , dont come show ur jealousy here :)

  • @TheDeathTriangle ok so tell me can bjj beat 2 guys in a street fight??jujitsu is for sport only and its not as dominate as it use 2 be.jones vs shogun for example.

  • @MrNaySmith Yeah, especially if a striker doesn't know anything about takedown-defense, ground-fighting, etc. - which most of the strikers do!

  • Wow, Michael Clarke Duncan narrated this? I didn't know he had a blue belt either.

  • Respond to this video....

We train traditional Ju Jutsu in Serbia...

    See our videos ....

See how our children do the Ju Jutsu perfectly !

  • the gracies fuckin kick ass such beastly fighters

  • The Gracies are a bunch of stuck up guys

  • For me it is not is not so samurai style that Royce were holding the chokes after the opponent had been tapping. I am practicing BJJ before getting attached by comments.

  • @Szellemkutya2 he was angry because that savate guy (that was a nazi guy) bite him in the fight.

  • @Ariel1Dominguez Thanks. But I saw him doing this in other fights also.

  • Comment removed

  • How many jiu jitsu moves are there total? Like if there was a chart of all the fundamental parts kinda like the periodic table-- if that helps.

  • dont vote for McCain.

  • I thought it was Ving Rhames :D

  • Brazilian Jiu jitsu + Michael Clarke Duncan = Epic Win

  • One of my favourite aspects of the Gracies is that they all seem pretty humble considering they're undeniably the best at what they do

  • @petethespud then you obviously dont know a lot about the gracies, they are not humble at all! lol, im not a gracie hater by any means, i can just tell you do not know a lot about them.

  • @Alchy21 They were from what I could tell in this vid, but you're right that I don't know too much about them so I probably am wrong :P

  • Rickson could have been the best, but Rolls came first! He were the best before Rickson! The story does not begin with Rickson, Rolls, not even Carlos Gracie or Helio! The spirit is important, the technique! Stop worshiping idols, and get foccused in the knowledge of jiu jitsu...

  • Chuck Norris better watch his back... a new kid is in town.

  • The Gracies themselves claim Rickson Gracie to be the family champion. I watched a documentary called "Choke" in which the narrative said Rickson had over 402 fights with NO losses. He went to Japan and fought other martial artist in a fighting marathon. Of course he won and continued his undefeated claim. And I thought Royce was a badass!

  • @starblazer64

Sorry, but Rickson's claims of 400+ fights won is kinda like John Holmes claim of sleeping with 10,000+ women, yeah, they were both prolific in their own ways, but there is a lot of bullshitting an exaggeration as well. Rickson is considered to be the best of the Gracie's by people in the know (good enough for me) and he has had success as an MMA fighter, but the million bajillion fights he claims are pretty much acknowledge as bullshit by the same people who claim he's the best.

  • @SomeGuyYeah007 He counts his BJJ matches as well in his wins which makes that number a bit less ridiculous.

  • My instructor was trained by the Gracie's

  • O_O...

  • first there was gracie jiu jitsu now its lesnar jiu jitsu

  • Wow thanks for uploading, really decent doc... I am goin to watch the 2nd part now

  • Ken Shamrock is awesome.

  • calling Jiu Jitzu Brazillian Jiu Jitzu isthe most arrogant thing ive ever heard. they gracies were given it by the japanese, and the altered it slightly. just like everyone who does the sport. but they dont rename it. the Gracies didnt even really improve it. look what sakuraba thought of GJJ

  • @Spaitin so if someones grandmother would bake a pie based on an old recipe but just slightly altered the recipe,,making it a great pie,,and everyone in the family would call it grandma's pie...it's arrogant?:P
