Amazingly I only discovered Katherine Jenkins this morning on an interview at Channel Seven. Having listened to her on a number of you-tube videos soon after

I think that she has a wonderful voice and I put her in the same category as Josh Groben who is one of my all time favourite singers of today.

It's not technique per se that is lacking, it's real musicianship such as you find with mezzo sopranos like Anne Sofie von Otter, Janet Baker, Alice Coote, Marilyn Horne and so on. I find listening to Katharine Jenkins rather like listening to whalesong CDs: lovely and somewhat touching, but manufactured and inexpressive.

Rubbish rubbish. It's such a shame that (nearly) everyone thinks this admittedly very pretty & very nice girl is considered such an great singer!! She's has such an average voice, try comparing to "real" opera singers like Angela Georgiou or Renée Fleming (if you've never heard of them that's because they haven't the marketing machine behind them manufacturing an image). They are true opera superstars.... Ever wondered why no-one's ever seen KJ in an opera at an opera house??! Not good enough.
