  • what is the name of the song playing?

  • @MrLynxCat It's a cover of the main theme to "Escape from New York" by John Carpenter that I recorded for the video.

  • @MrLynxCat You can here the original here (put the youtube URL back in): watch?v=nv3L0YIRoyo

  • New press:

"McCain claims his running mate hasn't sought earmarks, presenting her as a fiscal conservative. But state records show Palin has asked U.S. taxpayers to fund $453 million in Alaska projects over the past two years."

    - Wall Street Journal, 9/15/2008

(I can't wait for conservatives to try arguing that the Rupert Murdoch-owned WSJ is just showing "liberal bias".)

  • The only chage we are going to see is the change in our pockets if Obama becomes president! McCain/Palin 08

  • Difference between Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney? LIPSTICK!

  • I'm sure you think that that's an insult, but it isn't clear to me that it is! Besides, I thought the left's talking point against Palin was that she was an outsider who lacked experience, whereas Cheney was an insider who was picked precisely for the heft of past experience. C'mon, keep your stories straight! ;)

  • MCCAIN 08'

  • I loved McCain's pick of Sarah Palin. It was a BRILLIANT move. Tbh, it's hard NOT to like Palin. People can recognize someone they know in her. She relates to the common people. All this talk about her being a bad mother because her daughter is pregnant is ridiculous. They said nothing other than supportive comments when Clinton had an affair. Why is this any different? Reagan's daughter was gay. Nobody cared then. Every time liberals attack Palin, McCain gets another vote. Which is fine by me!

  • I agree. Unlike some of these people who have lived life as if it were one big resume for politics (Kerry comes to mind), Sarah Palin is REAL. Sure, the Ivy League trust fund liberals, and the much larger group of wannabes, in the Democratic party will sneer at her and her family, but most people won't. Have at it, limo libs, you will only end up looking like the arrogant snobs you really are!

  • Obama beat the Clintons. Something Republicans have never done. And he never raised his voice while he did it.

    How's that for experience?

  • MistyBlue - as preparation for the Presidency? Worthless. In general, it's somewhat impressive; but he did it, we should recall, by doing his darndest to remain a blank canvas onto which supporters of many different hues projected their own views, and I for one find that a very dishonorable attitude. To paraphrase William Rehnquist, one should decide what one believes and pursue it diligently. One should also be honest about what those beliefs are and open about how they will be pursued.

  • Worthless -- way to describe the electoral process. Opposing the gas tax gimmick was principled; people agreed. Opposing the Iraq war was principled, given that he was in the minority at the time.

Meanwhile, opposing an immigration bill you yourself wrote is beyond hypocritical. It's risible. Abandoning a comprehensive energy policy for "drill, drill, drill" is equally disappointing.

Given that we borrow from the Chinese to pay the Saudis, "values" voters are missing the forest for the trees.

  • Lack of experience is a point of contention concerning Mr. Obama's nomination. President Bush had four years of experience in the White House before his second term, and I daresay our economy is no better off during his second term. Experience doesn't always add up to victory.

  • I know you guys disagree, but I just want to state my opinion.

I was on the fence until I saw her speech last week. I honestly thought she was snide, condescending, sarcastic and showed a lack of tact. Then attacking Obama for spending time after he graduated college working in the community made me cringe. She really struck me as an Anne Coulter type.

Also, I don't get why she keeps bringing up the bridge to nowhere, when she originally supported it and was even given funding for it.

  • her comments to obama was after obama's to her putting down small town mayors throughout the country, which she was a part of.

  • Bigmomma, she's gone on the news about the whole bridge to nowhere thing. Originally, the plan called for less funding.. which is when she supported it. Once she had it laying on her desk, the numbers were far higher than were originally proposed.. so she killed it, right then and there.

  • This is the type of person we need, someone who recalculates the numbers.

  • We all must remember that prophecy of gloom and doom is NOT set in stone; we, as sovereign beings descended from God, who gave us the gift of free will, Can change things we don't want to happen, via mass prayers and focussed intention...we Can change the timeline of events; also don't forget that "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing..."Edmund Burke.

  • I was very impressed with the way she carried herself with her speech. I may not agree with everything she says, But on the core issues, I do. I have a great deal of respect for her and I do believe its long past due for a woman to be placed on the ticket.

  • I'm a Dem voting for McCain/Palin

  • real smart after 8 yrs of republican screwups you don;t care about this country

  • Hey, your not alone look at Senator Lieberman, big man in the political world, he supports McCain and Palin yet he's still democrat.

  • Palin she is sooo great. she proves that women are far better and smarter than men. every woman has her own voice. she will be the president someday. we as women have fought for our rights for thousands of years and are finally winning. America will be ran by women someday. GO PALIN! WOMEN POWER!!

  • Amen to that! Palin is awesome!

  • Sarah is the real deal

    unlike the MSM duo

  • they have no choice but to fall in love with palin!!

    she is amazing

    Mccain and Palin

  • I understand why McCain picked Palin.

She plays hardball energy politics in a year when energy policy is the key election issue. PLUS she's obviously pro-life.

However, it seems obvious to me that a better choice would have been former Congresswoman MELISSA A. HART of Pennsylvania.

She's a staunch conservative, and Pro-Life as well.

If Palin decides to remove herself from the ticket, I hope McCain chooses Hart. She doesn't have the same family problems, and she has Congressional experience.

  • go to Livedailycom to the political forum they will ban you for supporting McCain. Go show your support for McCain

  • All Democrats need to realize that neither of their guys (Obama/Biden) would sell out a shady Democrat....I don't think McCain would as much either....but Palin has. She kicked out REPUBLICANS who were crooked in ALASKA!

She has been in politics as long (slightly longer) as Obama, so no issues can be brought by either side for experiance.

The thing is Obama WILL be in control...Palin will be 2ND in Control.

  • She's been in politics slightly longer? Obama was senator for 2 yrs, gov 2 yrs, and ran a campaign for 18 months. That last 18 months IS slighly longer than her 16 months as gov of a small state like AK with a population smaller than the city of Chicago.

  • When the Hell was Obama a Governor of anything?

  • Obama & Biden never governed anything, Sarah Palin has more actual governing/executive experience.....16 years..... than Obama/Biden COMBINED......

    McCain/Palin 2008!

  • why do I support obama? I can live with mccain. I have a degree and a good paying job allowing me to pay less taxes, forget mandating new energy in 10yrs. I can afford $5-$7 gas so drill away, Im not having kids out of wedlock so what do I care about abortion laws, I got out of the military so more unnessesary wars wouldnt affect me. yep Im good to go. Too bad I care too much about this country. OBAMA 08!

  • Obama has roughly 140 days of actual work in the senate and most of that was involved in voting 'Present' over and over again...

Palin = Biz owner, mayor, governor. All Exec experience.

She has used the veto pen, commanded the alaska national guard. She's actually Cut taxes for alaskians. Went toe to toe with the oil company. Throughout history, more Governors have been elected president than senators for a reason. Governing a state is like governing the country but on a smaller scale.

  • sodequis,

those "present" votes you are referring to are from his time in the Illinois State Senate back in the 90s, and not the U.S. senate! 140 days of actual work? Where did you get that from? I'm pretty sure you made it up. BTW, people from Alaska are called Alaskans, not Alaskians!

  • I tried to listen to the rhetoric.

    Right change vs. wrong change.

look not to the future but to the past (8 years past)....????

The right change is to cut out government (massive deregulation like in the banking industry that lead to subprime mortgage collapse) or the ENron loop hole in the oil commodities market that allowed OIL prices to rise to 4.00) The right change will allow American innovation and enterprise (or allow greedy people to profit ...see Cunningham, Stevens, CheneyHalliburton

  • A couple of people have asked me this by PM, so maybe it's worth saying here: the music on this video is a version of John Carpenter's "Escape from New York" theme that I recorded for the video.

  • This just in from ABC news:Democratic nominee Barack Obama Monday said his campaign will not make a political issue of the Palin daughter's pregnancy. He told reporters while campaigning in Michigan that the candidate's family is "off limits and people's children are especially off limits," pointing out that his own mother gave birth to him at 18. Obama's Mama had him at 18 which means she also got prego at 17 herself if you take in the 9 months into account it takes for a baby to be born.

  • Promising 95% of the population tax breaks and then turning around and raising taxes on big corporations is an insult to my intelligence. Barak forgot one of the first rules in economics 101. "No such thing as a free lunch" Do you think these corps' that many individuals and smaller business' rely on, have over inflated their profit margins that they can afford to take that hit without making their customers or even employees pay for it. Welcome to free trade. Don't believe the hype.

  • Obamas plan targets company's making lots of money. Not small business. They can stand a hit, since they have been getting tax breaks for years under the Bush administration. Will there be an off set for the tax probably yes. But, Obama's plan still stimulants the economy more.

Trickle down economics does not work. No company is going to hire more people when they don't have more customers.

  • I understand he is going to tax large companies. What I am also trying to say is that several of the "small business" you speak of rely on the product and services of many of these large companies. Won't this in return force the large company to raise their product/service price. The only thing I see them doing if not that is downsizing and give remaining employee's more work and at the same time raising unemployment and since they are large companies with more employees to spare right?

  • Oil companies are not the only large companies in the country and fact is we transfer way more of the profit from oil out of the country rather than keep it in. Why wouldn't we want american companies making that money?

  • John McCains diverse energy plan will help create more jobs, in return put more money into the pockets of more americans, which will spend that money at the small business around the country and everyone will be positivly effective with more realistic economic growth.

  • The energy is an entirely different issue form taxes. I never said anything against American companies making money.

Obama's energy plan also creates American jobs. What specifically are you trying to imply about the energy policy?

  • Here is what I am saying company's are always going to try a put the costs on the consumer. There is no circumstance in which it will not have some effect.

However, since there would be more economic stimulation. Since, creating a stronger middle class means more customers. Which would enable the creation of more jobs.

  • Also, since small business still gets tax cuts. It off-sets the cost of the initial raise from the larger company's. The larger company would in turn eventually see the economic benefit over time afterword the because of growth in the middle class.

  • I do understand that creating a stronger middle class would create more consumers, and what I believe is that John McCain can do that with his diverse energy plan and jobs it will create. That along with proper earmark expense on legitimate government projects will also create more jobs for the middle class. That way he won't have to tax the rich and give to the poor. Which only creates short term solution and strengthens the belief of government should solve all our problems with more taxes.

  • I do appreciate you keeping the debate respectfull though and I appreciate that we can disagree on these issues without demonizing each other. We obviously have made our decisions on who were voting for and I respect your right to do that. Thanks again.

  • Under John McCain's tax plan it is the reverse of Obama's. McCain's plan taxes everyone that is not all ready rich and prosperous. McCain wants to put more taxes on the middle class, and less on the rich.

Obama has a very diverse energy plan. Which also includes continued support of conservation and alternative energy. Where as McCain energy plain largely rely's on the existing market to spur conservation on it's own.

  • Since, under McCain plan there are still taxes. What is the specific thing that put you in agreement with his plan over Obama's plan?

  • Oh, yes and I agree as well thanks for the respectful debate.

  • In my opinion Obama's energy plan rely's to much on hope. To date there is nowhere in the world that has discovered any source of energy with the return that fossil fuels and nuclear provide. With the progression in technology we currently have to burn the fossil fuels cleaner and realistic continued research in that field, and the numbers of nuclear power plants John McCain wants to build and seeing the success France has had with nuclear power. I'm sorry but John McCain has my vote.

  • I don't totally disagree with everything Barak has pushed in his energy policy, I feel it is just doesn't include enough.

  • Both Obama and McCain current plans supports ruining all of the same identical types of energy. Except for like two things: Obama supports drilling fossil fuel slightly less. Also, Obama added an additional plan to support conservation of energy.

  • in terms of taxes, McCain is going to cut taxes for the middle class and the rich. Obama's tax plan put's a ton more taxes on businesses, and all that does is make the businesses raise their prices, lower workers' wages, or fire workers to make up the money they're losing to taxes. It also becomes a lot harder for businesses to grow and create new jobs. Keep in mind that drilling creates jobs too and keeps money here instead of sending it overseas. Of course alternative energy is good too.

  • I'm a proud Hillary Clinton supporter and I will support John McCain this November! NObama for me!

  • then I question your actual support for Hillary since McCain doesn't support the core values that Hillary had.

  • You see, I never liked McCain that much. But I don't like Obama and I don't want him president. And the only way around Obama right now is McCain. But I love Hillary more.

  • Its more than the presidency. Its a continued failed policy in Iraq, the debt ballooning from 10 trill to 20 trill, continued dependence on Oil, stacked conservative supreme court were you even paying attention during the debates?

  • Voting against Obama is the same as voting against Hillary. It's putting to sham the very reasons why Hillary was running in the campaign.

  • Hillary was running for the democrats. To support her views as a democrat. Think of all the ideals she was running for in the election. McCain is running for the opposite of Hillary's ideals and the issues she was trying to change. The republicans were never in support of Hillary during the election. The republicans were the ones bad mouthing Hillary on the media the entire time during her campaign. If you really love Hillary at least reconsider what she wanted to change.

  • SO proud that you ignore her issues and vote for a candidate, she would sooner drop dead than vote for her. That makes no sense whatsoever.

  • I'm voting for McCain because he chose Palin as VP!

  • Why?

  • Palin would do an amazing job as a vp, a much better job than Obama would do as president. I would trust Palin over Obama on national security any day, Obama just doesn't get it. "Iran isn't a serious threat", yeah ok Obama.

    NoBama08!

  • Pale and Palin '08!

    What a joke.

  • ST. PAUL, Minn. — John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin said Monday that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant, an announcement aimed at rebutting Internet rumors that Palin's youngest son, born in April, was actually her daughter's.

THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING! THANKS, McCAIN!

    OBAMA/BIDEN '08!

  • I like her. She has a short track record like Obama, but she was the governor not a congresswoman. As a governor she stood up for what was right against her own party. Have we seen this from Obama? Everything one congressman does is so diluted. Who knows if he was actually there voting for that stuff. Right now Obama is talking about alternative energy, but why is it that congress hasn't yet extended the tax credits to companies that put up wind turbines? Is he really putting country first?

  • Do you mean same old qualifications. The ones people who have had in the past yet never did a thing to put this country ahead. Or do you mean the qualifications you get that only come through actions that helped the people. Not ones you get at an institution. Obama doesn't have the qualifications I want in office. Palin does. I want someone that will stand up for whats right in the face of her party. I want someone who is concerned with progress. Does congress = progress? Ask yourself that.

  • Palin has experience as a sports announcer and a beauty queen. How does that qualify her for the job?

Plus she has FIVE kids, one of whom is PREGANT, and another has Down Syndrome. Palin has enough on her plate back at home -- this is no time for her to be running for VP!

  • Palin is Not Qualified:

She graduated from the University of Idaho with a BS in Journalism, minor in political science in 1987. After a brief stint as mayor of 8,471 people, she has served as governor of Alaska, a state containing only one town with a population over 100,000 and only four over 10,000, a state with more reindeer than people, and for only a meager 20 months!

  • As opposed to Obama, who has never served as a mayor or governor, who was a part-time state Senator and has been a part-time US Senator for a short period? Our veep nominee leaves your top of ticket nominee in the dust in terms of experience, so how is it that you think that you get to make "experience" arguments against her? Don't you see how silly it maks you look, and how much it goes to underline your own nominee's inexperience?

  • Thank you McCain! The ultra cons forced your hand and you caved and brought the equivalent of a trojan horse into your own campaign! Stand back and watch the fireworks folks, many surprises in store for John and the GoP.

  • Beautiful! Thank you for pointing out that if she wasn't a woman she most likely would not have been chosen. There were better candidates. It's insulting that McCain chose Palin because he thinks women are lame enough just to vote for her because she has a vagina. I hope it comes back to bite him.

  • what do you say about obama and black people then?

  • 2ak3n, I didn't advocate McCain picking her because she's a woman, and I think that your assumption that he did is wrong. The best reason to pick Palin was that the GOP needs to rid itself of the legacy of corruption, lethargy and incompetence that were the hallmark of the DeLay-Frist era. Palin is someone who has visibly fought against those things in her own state and won - she's done what McCain thinks of himself as doing, and IMO that's the main reason she's an attractive running mate.

  • is it premature to label her as corruption free when she and her administration are under investigation?

  • I wish people would realize that this election isn't about which specific person has more experience than another. It is about a change in ideology and the closest thing, in our time, that America can have to a very necessary social and cultural revolution.

  • Rain vs. hurricane heading for New Orleans three years to the day after Katrina. Getting wet vs. people dying and billions in property damage.

Don't need a pan balance to weight those two.

    Good try.

  • Guess the republicans should have thought of that when they ignored the Katrina victims.

  • Mayor Nagin ignored the warnings before it hit, as well as county and state.......those people ignored it as well! How's that anyone else's fault......or does government need to go down there and wipe their asses too?

  • James Dobson of "Focus on Famiy" asked Evangelical Christians to pray for "rain of biblical proportions" to fall on Senator Barack Obama as he accepts the Democratic nomination." Yet, somehow, the republican convention is going to be the one that gets canceled DUE TO BAD WEATHER "of Biblical proportions".

Remember, God never is wrong. God is for Obama!

  • NascarDaddy0 Do all of us a favor ......Quit commenting after smoking crack!

  • Please file all complaints with either James Dobson or God. I am just a messenger.

  • Dude you're fucking weird!

  • NascarDaddyO the institution let's you get on the internet this late at night? Is this before or after your medication?

  • She thinks the world is 6000 years old and that God put the fossil record here to test our faith.

She doesn't think Global warming exists.

The total number of people that have EVER voted for her is not much more than what turn out for a Michigan/Ohio State football game.

Her Mayor job was part time !

Her experience as "commander and chief" of the guard was CEREMONIAL !!

    This is Insane!

  • And yet she still has more experience than Obama! Now that's pathetic! LOL!

Oh' yea' she's way hotter also!

  • I don't believe that one party is better than the other. For me, both Obama & McCain are qualified to run for President, and that change must start from within each of us, not just the gov't. I noticed though that there is something ominous about OBAMA-BIDEN partnership. Replace B with an S in OBAMA, it becomes OSAMA. Insert the letters NLA between the letters I and D in BIDEN, it becomes BINLADEN! OSAMA BINLADEN! Terrifying, especially if you reflect on many 911's ominous signs!

  • I'm going to leave this on the assumption that it's intended to be humorous, but that's as close to the line as a comment's going to get and not be deleted. Just FYI.

  • "McCain's VP pick Palin draws boos when mentioning Hillary Clinton."

"I think as well today of two other women who came before me in national elections, and I can't begin this great effort without honoring the achievements of Geraldine Ferraro back in 1984 and of course, Senator Hillary Clinton," Palin said.

    Boo. Boo. Boo.

So much for trying to win over disaffected Clinton supporters. They, apparently, are not turning up to McCain-Palin rallies.

    [REUTERS August, 31, 2008]

  • McCain vote against making Martin Luther King day a national holiday

  • yahtzey111, yes, twenty years ago, McCain voited against making MLK day a national holiday. More recently, he went before a predominantly black audience and told them that he had been wrong to do so, that he had changed his mind. When will Obama be going before an audience of working-class christians and apologizing for saying that they're just clinging to guns and religion to smooth over their economic distree?

  • That wasn't a racist thing if that what you are trying to insinuate! Holidays are very costly, to both government and employers, there's more to consider than you would understand so I won't get into things that are above your comprehension.Democrats are always looking for freebies, and never ever consider whose paying for it.Why isn't Abe Lincoln Day or George Washinton a holiday? You think I'm going to cry about it, Democrats are quick to talk but very retarded when it comes to understanding!

  • when I first saw McCain's selection walk on stage, I was all excited, until I realized it was not Tina Fey.

  • have u seen obama's speeches? theres blacks, whites, asians, hispanics, ALL types of ppl

mccsame's speeches are all white ppl

+ mcbush/mcsame voted against the martin luther king holiday twice or three times

so who's the bigger racist now?

    obama/palin 08

  • Don't you mean comatose in 2 years?

If McCain keels over while in office, we will be led by a 2 year governor of Alaska.

Of course, everyone's first thought is that someone will come and help her if ever she were in charge. I'm sure someone will tell her what to do, its just too bad nobody gets to vote on it.

  • No.. everyone's first thought should be, wow.. she still has more executive experience than obama!

  • Would you prefer to be led by a woman who has displayed courage and results, or Obama who has never shown any courage to stand up to his party (or his church) or results?

  • I honestly think Britney Spears would have brought more to the McDipshit ticket.

  • As women, we need to UNITE behind a candidate who cares about women's rights, and Palin is not in our best interest. Palin is:

    •anti-choice

•ant-abortion (even in rape and incest cases) •against marriage equality and supports a federal gay-marriage ban

    •believes schools should teach creationism

    OBAMA 08!

  • your a freak-ABORTION IS MURDER no matter how you try to justify it

  • While, Palin may believe some of the things you have listed, the thing that I like most about her is that she does not use the law to push her beliefs on others. She said that government shouldn't interfere and that schools should choose whether or not to teach creationism. Also, as governor of Alaska, she vetoed a measure that would have prevented the partners of gay and lesbian state workers from getting state medical insurance benefits. She stated that the measure was unconstitutional.

  • Sorry, you've placed yourself as an editor(as you've stated yourself) and you must give people the same rights as the Government.

  • This is entirely incorrect, and I'm deleting subsequent comments asserting as much. The First Amendment and the Universal Declaration of Human Right, which you preposterously cite, are binding on governments, not private actors. What you can and can't say here are at the discretion of Youtube and myself. If you want to argue this with someone, I'm sure your exmployer has a general counsel who will explain it to you, but it is off-topic here and your latitude has expired.

  • Great Post Acolyteofscalla!!

This is very good; Very Creative!

  • Please visit a new SARAH PALIN fan and supporter website at:

    sarahpalin.me

It has a bio, photos, contact information and free Sarah Palin computer wallpaper.

  • I wonder how foreign leaders are viewing this development. I bet there is an urge for each one of them to say "Lovely pick Sen. McCain. I have several, ummm..VPs just like her somewhere around here." Still others might say, "Look. How sweet. John McCain brought his daughter along!"

  • Palin is currently the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Alaska state Legislature for improper use of her office.

When asked her if the investigation could disqualify her from becoming McCain's running made, Palin said it shouldn't disqualify her from anything because she had done nothing wrong, adding, "As for all that VP talk, I can't answer that question until someone answers for me: 'What is it that a exactly that the VP does every day?'"

  • And there goes your lieing liberal twist on the interview, why did you end the quote, she continued the "What is it exactly that the Vp does everyday" that wasnt the end of the remark Palin made, it is continued with, "Im use to working, and getting things accompolished" You are a typical Obama supporter... "A LIAR"

  • And the rest of that interview explains what she meant by that. that she is being modest of whether she is the right person to run the country. and that she spends her days on thinking about RUNNING alaska, not the job of VP

  • I look forward to the State of Union Address and seeing McCain speaking and behind McCain to the left you see Palin and to the right you see Pelosi. Pelosi will be put in her place by Palin. What a class act Palin is!

  • As for MLK holiday...The Federal Gov't didn't need another holiday. Do you know by adding one holiday for the Federal Gov't it cost taxpayers billions! That is why McCain initially was opposed to it. He is a man for change and not for big wasteful spending gov't. It was nothing personal!

  • McCain-Palin '08!!!

  • McCain will delegate Palin things to do, and SHE WILL GET THEM DONE, as her records show. She will be a great innovative support for the well-experienced McCain.

Obama will ask Belin what to do, will make mistakes over and over, and Belin will be there to clean up his mess when possible.

Remember, Palin has a short career, but McCain will still be the Head.

Obama's inexperience will be in chief... are you sure the US can afford the big mistakes and tries of an inexperienced president????

  • Palin has been governor for 18 months of a state with less people than Memphis! GIMME A BREAK!

Before that she was the mayor of a town of6,000 people!

Seriously, not as Republicans, but as AMERICANS, aren't you afraid of McCain getting sick and all of a sudden she is in charge? Wasn't experience the argument against Obama?

Imagine this former Miss Alaska having to decide whether to use nuclear weapons against a country that we believe is about to use them against us!

    This is MADNESS!

  • This argument is moot in view of the Democratic ticket. I'll tell you this: I'd feel more secure if a mayor selected at random from the National League of Cities' rolodex was in charge of responding to a crisis than I would if Joe Biden was, and I'd certainly feel safer thinking that Palin was in charge in a crisis than Barack Obama.

  • McCain has long history of really bad decisions without careful study of situation like being 5th from the bottom of his class, not reading the instruction book on his jet crashed into Gulf losing plane/almost his life because he did't know how to open the cockpit, got shot down/lost another million planegot captured. H always chased younger beauty queens. This is more of the same, and a really confusing/stupid ad to boot.

He has dissed his party and given Obama the election on a silver platter.

  • Because you censored MCcain Palin comments

  • I removed dumb comments that were critical of Palin, and I removed dumb comments that were supportive of her. If you want to call that censorship, suit yourself. I spent several hours creating a video urging McCain to pick Palin as his running mate, so it's a little silly to suggest I'm somehow opposed to the pick.

  • cool video. McCain/Palin

Can't wait to see Palin beat the crap out of Biden in a debate.

  • I'd love to take that bet! Are you serious? Calm In Panic? huh? This from a party and an administration that strives to instill panic and fear in the people. Yeah. I get it.

  • right...let me ask you this...which party started the KKK. it was the democrats. now that is pretty scary. did you know that byrd was a member at one time. now let me ask you this...which party started the Jim Crow Laws...not the republicans...yep...democrats. which party has members that STILL wear the white hoods...yep...democrats. byrd made horrible comments about MLK...what party does he belong too. yep..the democratic party.

  • Democrats even started the brutal Vietnam war, but not even CNN would bring that to light because CNN covers negative stories about McCain and bring in to frame 4 positive stories of Obama to cover his rear end. I don't hear much about th pastor church guy who kept saying obscene comments towards White Americans, but thats okay, hell with you Obama because your inexperienced, and coz YOUR BLACK. gO MCCAIN PALIN.

  • Robert Byrd made horrible comments about MLK. Wow. I guess all democrats are racists. John McCain voted against the creation of the MLK Holiday...REPEATEDLY. Arizona became one of the last states to recognize the holiday. Other notables to oppose the holiday:

    Jesse Helms (R)

    John McCain (R)

Ronald Reagan (R) [although later changed mind when house voted a veto-proof 338-90]

  • actually his horrible comments aren't so bad as byrd belonging to the KKK. But put the two together saying horrible thing and belonging to the KKK...that's another story. big deal...a holiday?? MLK wasn't president? why does he deserve one?? lol...should we give EVERYONE that has made an accomplishment a holiday? is that what you want?? ok...no one ever has to go back to work....the rest of your lives are holidays!!!

  • But back to the comment I actually made on the blog...I responded to your claim that you couldn't wait until Palin "beat the crap out of Biden in a debate". Not sure where you got your debating skills, but by going back to 1828 and the start of the KKK and then citing Robert Byrd....methinks your debating skills are subpar. For your sake and the sake of the elephants, Palin better be a bit more qualified.

  • jpbalkenende, I think you'd find very few people who'd take seriously the idea that editing the Harvard Law Review is more impressive than putting one's career on the line to fight corruption in your own party and becoming Governor on the back of it. Your other point is deonstrably false, too. Obama didn't "run" the 13th District, and at 217,840, its population is less than a third of Alaska's (pop. 683,478). That leaves only his election to the US Senate, a stroke of good luck at best.

  • I still think that Obama's most impressive acomplishment to-date is his on-going demonstration of political savvy, which has gathered Americans in a manner not seen for many years. Some might argue that the dislike of Bush makes such an act quite easy, and I'd partly agree, but I see Obama's oratory (original by the way, not handed to him) as being so compelling that people are very willing to follow by that alone. All this at the National level, that's his most impressive accomplishment.

  • When it comes to experience Palin makes Obama look like Colin Powell.

She has been governor of a state for a year that is SMALLER than the district Obama ran from 97-04. Obama has been a senator of a state 20x the population of Alaksa for 3 years.

The fact that he was elected president of the Harvard law review is an accomplishment just about a zillion times more impressive than anything Palin has ever done.

She doesn't know her own foreign policy! q7niokOXyjs

    Or job for that matter

  • Why would you as the poster of this video be objective to any comments supporting McCain and Palin then?

  • You understand that this video was posted before McCain picked Palin ("Added: August 25, 2008"), urging that he pick her, right? That being so, why on Earth would you conclude that I would be hostile to "comments supporting McCain and Palin"?

  • Owner~ You have set NO public guideline and no one has broken their user agreement that you have the right to censor comments. Don't play journalism if you don't know the law. Beyond the 1st amendment the comments that were posted that YOU removed were the rights YOU took away from the people of their 1st Amendment right that you hold as a private journalist also. It's a channel you've been allowed rights to use. It's doesn't mean you decide people's voices!

  • dadealeo88, the First amendment protects you from government censorship. I'm not the government. I can delete any comments I choose to, for any reason that occurs to me. If I wanted, I could delete any comments critical of the GOP ticket, which I support and advocate the election of, but I don't think that's appropriate. Comments that strike me as being uncivil, abusive, rude or unproductive will be removed, as I've said more than once. Make intelligent points, or find another forum.

  • I'm contacting Palin about the trademark thing right now.

  • I had many of my posts deleted and they contained no profanity although I did discuss McCain's and Palin's pro-life support and where our Government stood on Foreign policy. I have it saved in Word Doc and received PM's to prove this.

  • dadealeo88, I'm sorry if some comments were removed that could have stayed. It's probably little consolation, but FWIW, I think anyone can see from some of the comments I've left up that I'm certainly not trying to exclude critical comments.

  • And if you think it'll get any better pack your bags now and head out of here.

  • ScottJoseph08 I see your point in that these individuals on youtube which seem to support McCain are conveniently biased .I think by the next election it should be law that if you want publicly support a candiate you must be registered in order to provide video to the public. They should a trademark their names. That's just so supporters have an unbiased outlet in order not to be censored. Understand dems will get dirty now because they know Palin is a threat.

  • Of course, to do that would require repealing the First Amendment, and stands in stark contrast to ScottJoseph08's comment urging completely free speech and comparing any kind of censorship to Soviet Russia and China.

  • Keep up the good discussion, all.

  • Simple question .....

What is McCain's single greatest accomplishment in his 30 yrs of service?

    What is Obama's?

  • On the same side of that coin - censorship is more akin to Soviet Russia or present day China. Free speech is the best way.

  • Oops! Sorry, I deleted your comment above when I meant to hit reply. Let me preserve it here - you'd written "Yeah, I noticed that you had deleted several posters' comments that were not abusive, but actually valid arguments that all Americans should ponder."

  • Now, let me reply to that comment. You're not really correct, although it may be a matter of perception. I've deleted comments that fell afoul of what I said before - if they were rude, abuse, uncivil, &c., they're going to go, even if they contain valid points (which virtually none of those deleted did), and even if I agree with them. That said, a comment that expresses something that's useful is going to have more leeway - it's not a bright line rule.

  • And on the censorship issue, I'll say only this. I believe very strongly in the marketplace of ideas. And I would think that liberals, of all people, would agree that sometimes, markets do not function most efficiently when they are left 100% unregulated. A standard that requires civility promotes the effective functioning of the marketplace of ideas, while letting people call each other names and repeat silly and fallacious canards actively hinders it.

  • Fair enough. But, in the end, the truth eventually hits everybody. Should be an interesting race this fall.

  • Given that I posted this video four days before McCain picked Palin, urging that he do so, I suppose it'd be a conceit if I said that in this instance, the truth of her being the right pick certainly hit him. ;) All I'm saying is this: I agree that the truth will out, but market of ideas is hurt not helped in its ability to do so if sensible comments are drowned out by people calling each other "rethuglican" or "libtard." That LGF/Kos style of "debate" is really unhelpful.

  • I agree. Let's have a good civil discussion. That's America!

  • Thanks, Scott - I removed one of your comments below, but the other was fine (although obviously I disagree with it) and it's been left.

  • Just a reminder to commenters that messages supportive or critical of Palin (or McCain) are equally welcome -- but if you can't do it without resorting to profanity or abusive language, you're wasting your time typing a reply that will likely be deletedat my discretion. Keep it clean, keep it civil, and keep it productive.

  • Yeah. You're right. He's proving to be a puppet of the GOP machine - just like Bush. Back in 2000m I never thought that I would see the day when John McCain would sell his soul to the devil in the name of politics.

  • I'd like to hear from people about McCain ACTUAL position in the GOP.

I haven't been following McCain's career at all, but have always thought he was some sort of small "c" Conservative that appealed mostly to a narrow range of Conservatives. That's only a perception though, based solely on my media exposure to him.

  • McCain questions Obama's judgment and then chooses Palin as his running mate? He only met her six months ago! This is scary. I'm voting Obama and Biden for sure after this.

  • This should be no surprise. McCain is not his own person, he's owned by the GOP and he's being directed to make that choice. She probably wouldn't have been his natural first choice, because he really doesn't know anything about her, until very recently.

  • These wars we are fighting Americans need to educate themselves and the Gov. needs to explain who the enemy is and what it is for. We do have security issues. McCain has many Americans who understand this including Palin and he made the absolute right choice in someone who is willing to protect us without the compromise Obama wants because his is NOT possible. History has proved that.

  • I think a lot the differences being brought the day after are "Pro-life" and Foreign Policy."

In the order of Pro_life I believe all parties understand they are not in the position nor ever will be successful in overturning Roe. Prolifers focus more on the cause of unwanted pregancy. As for Foreign Policy I stand on the fact we are a Democracy and the President or VP, but all parts of our Gov. at home and Internationally.

  • Palin is qualified for the job. She can lead this country on day one if McCain cannot. She has almost two years of gov. experience in Alaska and a BA in Journalism from Idaho. She is a hockey mom and pro-life. She is also a hunter and an NRA member. So what about the polar bears. They are in the way of oil pipelines. I know women will flock to her and McCain will get a large boost from woman voters. Plus she supported Pat Buccannan for president at one time. She is well qualified.

  • All this talk of experiance!!! Look what has happened with those that we tknow had the experiance! They screwed us over. The only thing that experiance gives them is to know whos palm to grease and who to avoid. Lets put someone in there with drive and determination, they could not possibly do any worse. They could put a college kid in there, and even he/she would thrive! Lets get off that horse and ride another one!

  • Are you really going to hide behind a woman to escape critics. This smacks of desperation. Why not just choose a black man to scim the black vote. Hillary isn't just a woman but a qualified woman. I guess Obama was right. Mcbush just doesn't get it.

  • The big difference Ive seen the last few weeks is Barack Obama and John McCain is, Obama didnt need to play the vote game, his choice was not driven by how many votes Hillary had. He pick someone who he knows and someone who the people of the lower 48 united satates know. McCain clearly was not going to pick Palin, until he saw the DEMs were united comming out of the convention. He knew he was in trouble, so he is going to use Palin, a good woman as a pawn. why would she even take the offer?

  • Are you sure Obama didn't pick Biden because he had two more states to turn over out of the 57 states we have in the USA? Of course everybody knows he needed someone if Foreign policy, he doesn't even know how many states are in the Country he wants to represent!

  • LOL that was funny...but I heard out of Palins own mouth she doesnt know what a VP does, thats real, and its on YOUtube

  • That's prob because what a VP does varies so much depending on what the Pres kind of "assigns" to the VP. (There's only 2 things "assigned" by the Constitution.)

  • Obama's pick with Joe Biden showed how weak his confidence really was. His strongest point that he was "against the Iraq war from the beginning" is destroyed by Biden, who approved the war. Not to mention, his "fresh face" is demolished by Biden's years "inside washington"

  • Weak or good decision making? Obama is smart enough to know that more experience IS in order on his ticket and he met that head on and kept going.

"inside washington" you mean experience, like McCain right, maybe thats why McCain switched his argument from experience to change, Hey that sounds like Obama. Its funny how Obama's camp goes about thier business in a direct manner while McCain's camp is dictated by what the Dems do.

  • Thank you TheSeaSpoilers! Finally someone with common sense! Instead of attacking her for being a Woman or being "inexperienced", lets actually look at values and views.

She also has the ability to reach over party lines and come to a common sense agreement over issues instead of being restricted to a parties values instead of american values. If you look at her record, shes a moderate but her values are conservative.

  • The thing is Republicans are struggling to come up with reasons why she would be a great VP and possibly commander in chief if something happens to John. Nothing they have said is creditable. John only cares about winning not About what is best for us. This was a choice to win Hillary clinton voters and his base. Didn't matter that there are more experienced Women in the Rupblican party. He chose her for her inexperience thinking it would backfire on Dems when they talk about her inexperience.

  • She has more experience in her small finger than Obama has in his entire body. Obama is your #1, Palin is our #2. Name one accomplishment Obama has made. You can't, because he doesn't have any. She DOES have accomplishments, go look and you can find them. Not only does she have accomplishments, but she has morals and she stands by them. Its more important to have someone who stands by their decision than someone who doesn't keep their word for shit. (Like Nancy Pelosi who has done NOTHING!)
