You have so beautifully captured why I love the west. Zion is still on my list of places to go, however I have gotten to Yellowstone. Isn't it amazing how different the landscape can be when there is so little vegetation? Gotta go - you've posted many more.

Did you actually go to Zion national park? i was reading up on all the walks and hikes that are available.The Narrows of Zion Canyon is one of the parks most popular and strenuous, off-trail hikes. Hiking through the Narrows for example is a 15-mile trip requiring at least one full day.

Much of the trip involves wading through the Virgin River.Then you have wonderful sights like Frozen waterfalls...

LOL we were actually disappointed that we didn't meet any grizzlies! (from a distance, that is!) Curly-horned sheep, bison...yes...mmm no elk or moose, either :(

So much beauty. We were on somewhat of a schedule to get to the Old Faithful Inn, so did the bus tour. I would have loved to hike a bit.

Fifteen miles is a long one for this bird. Well, all day, ok..

p.s. take the south entry into (or out of) Yellowstone Park....there is a grand view there.
