  • I really want this guitar

  • how is the tweakability of the pedal? any mod matrix stuff?

  • not so much

  • I'M ASIAN. WHERE ARE MY POWERS?

  • Awesome....

  • my goodness is this guitar for real? awesome demo! :O

  • absolutely amazing...

  • The Carvin Guitars are top flight professional level instruments; and, so are the Godin instruments. I have a Godin Multiac Jazz. And I'm saving up nickles for a Carvin SH575B which I should be ordering in the next three or four months. I have also put one of the Roland GK-3 pickups on a Strat. I set the pickup correctly and had the Synth adjusted for that pickup, and can tell you from 1st hand experience, the GK-3 pickup does not track as well as the GraphTech system used in the Carvins.

    Ron

  • can a Godin do all of this too?

  • @hardinmichael1981 Any guitar can be equipped with a Synth pickup. The difference is Carvin's Syth Guitars feature a GraphTech system that was custom made for our guitars to our specifications. This gives the player the best tracking and the lowest latency possible.

  • do you need fingernails to play an ELECTRIC nylon guitar?

  • Also, props to Steve for shredding during that rock guitar synth part.

  • I love how late 90's this video looks. Big ups, Carvin!

  • PLZ TELL ME WHAT IS THE RETAIL PRICE ON THIS GUITAR AND PLZ SEND ME A LINK PLZ!!!!!!!!

  • great video !

  • Great demonstration. Wide range of styles and very musical :D

Also, carvin, work in conjunction with True temperament and make true temperament carvins! You worked with graph tech for the pickups....

  • I don't like the idea. Every guitar model has something special in it. Electric guitars can sound so diffrent, so do the acoustic guitars and pianos I suppose. Making one instrument playing everything is like playing none of the instruments it's imitating.

  • @TheMoribundTree Simply put, it's another tool in the tool bag. What I like about it is that now I can finally play what I want without growing 4 more sets of arms... Also, I can also play small stages with a percussionist and not have to rely on 4 or 5 other people. It's a reliablity solution for me.

  • I have the NS1, Both Rolands with the box to bridge them like Steve...what I don't have is Steve's Fingers! One thing I did get was Stainless frets on mine. Once you have them, it's hard to go back. Steve masters that instrument for sure. He's also a great person to talk to. I've met him a few times, and his wife is a real sweetheart too.

  • Jeez I wish I could afford this ax!!!

  • very good demo

  • This guy is the best demonstrator of an instrument that I have seen I think ever. Great range of playing styles(strong at each too) and like his modesty. A lot demonstrations are ego-driven. This makes you wanna buy the guitar. Effective and a musical treat at the same time.

  • nice job steve.

  • wHOA!...awesome

  • Thank you Steve-O!

  • wow I want a guitar like that, and this cat is really good!

  • Looks like a fun toy

  • the guitar is amazing and so is Steve Oliver.. Studio Jams BETJ

  • FYI: I asked Steve is setup, his reply:

You have to get an US-20 unit selector by Roland to operate both units at the same time. So I go from the NS1 to the US-20 then the US-20 has 2 GK cables that run into each unit, it comes with 2 short GK cables, That is how you can operate both the GR-33,VG-88 completely separate from each other I also take a guitar cable and go from the GR-33 gtr out to the VG-88 input, Then I run everything direct into the PA or Amp I hope this Helpful.

  • looks way too much like the godin series

  • Ive played.owned and respect Godin..but I have also have experience with Carvin. Carvin is the better of the 2, honestly. te workmanship is consistantly better..you can select almost ANY options..the price is better AND they are American made. Carvin guitars are really phenomenal. If i was going to buy a Godin..id buy their cheaper line..the Seagull..but they dont offer a guitar synth..and have no plans to.

Carvins wins again, they stay ahead of the curve.

  • is this some kind of midi guitar?

  • holy crap i want it.

  • what is that awsome classical song he plays at about 3:00?

  • i think that's bach's bourre in e minor..

  • That's so frickin' rad.

  • beautiful always wanted this guitar but wheres the pickup?

  • that bridge is a piezo

  • Man! that guitar effect is unbelievable!

    I want that whole set!

  • How is the tracking on this guitar??

  • DUDE. I want.

    *runs to Mama*

    I want I want Iwant!!!!

  • Man, steve is great. He and paco de lucia are the best fingerstyle players ever IMO.

  • i'm sold

  • I totally want one of those now!

  • Dang he's doing all that with his fingers. No pick. That is awesome.

  • is awesome

  • Hmm... Wonder why Steve Oliver was playing a Godin guitar on BET's Studio Jams show. Why wasn't he using the Carvin? The Godin was driving a Roland Guitar Synth also on that episode?

  • That show probably predated the creation of the NS1. Steve used to use Godin guitars but has switched to Carvin as he was very instrumental in the design of the NS1 and the new SH575.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • WOW

  • great video! Steve Oliver is great.
