British and other allies fought well and sacrificed also. The fighting ended in a stalemate ceasefire, but the war has not offically ended. There might be an offical treaty signed to end this war in the future or near future.

the US forces had impressive numbers but were poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly led. They made very fine tank fodder but their effect was easily comparable to the much smaller number of better trained British, Austrailian or maybe even NZ soldiers present. Having said that, sheer weight of numbers was the determining factor in the whole war though..

The Chinese contributed greatly to keep a dictator's legacy alive. however I can't place blame or even contempt because if it was South Korea that was communist, China would have helped the same way. It is the duty of an ally so i respect that. Mao Zedong's only healthy son died fighting in the Korean War. Shows how serious they were.

but eventually the T-34 tanks and soviet migs were matched by the U.S. sherman tanks and f-86's. China's involvement was a big factor in favor to the NK's. Well from here on you can tell how it became a stalemate. China's army had superior numbers and 70% of the PVA were PLA regulars. So they had experience. Its still considered and honor to many chinese today that they held off a western army and kept nk from falling.

Whats ridiculus is the fact that 80% of the casualties on the korean side were civilians. about 1.9 million casualties were civilians. Mostly done by the U.S. and U.N. forces btw. From napalm and air raids. from bombing civilian packed bridges so NK forces couldnt manuveur....to just strafing through crowds of people fleeing. They did that in fear of NK soldiers trying to defect. Defect meaning to bring 1 to the other side.

the casualties in the korean war were about 38 thousand for the U.S.. Which you can say was less then the Vietnam war. However the korean war lasted only 3 years while the conflict in vietnam lasted 15 years. True the U.S. and U.N. had superior weaponry to a point. However NK forces pushed U.S. army forces back till UN/US controlled only a strip of S.Korea inthe early stages of US/UN involvement.

The US/UN/SK forces we're winning quite rapidly until China got involved. China sent over hundreds of thousands of soldiers utterly pounding our forces, that was the reason. As for America, they helped the world in many ways, and although occasionally they get one stupid president (like Bush and a few other ones) they're there to help.

Sure, technically the UN/US forces didn't loose, it was a ceasefire. However, given the situations then the result was synonymous with a major UN/US defeat. A poor starving third world nation beat a mechanized coalition of 21 developed nations to a standstill. For the U.S. it was a major humiliation.  It was the first time a U.S. commander agreed to a ceasefire in all of U.S. history. Glorious indeed.

Also its not a real war because war was not declared by either side and the casulties were very low. Also, the troops involved were from the Argentine government and the war consisted of a lot more than 1 small battle. Maybe you should read about the Falklands War, or watch some videos about it on YouTube.

Finally, on the 14th June, it will be 25 years since Britain won the Falklands War, i wish there was a way that i could tell the British people, the British Government, the media, etc that the Falklands War wasn't even a real war, because trevcali said so!

Argentine had more troops in the region and supersonic aircraft. UK had no supersonic aircraft and too few since they were crammed on ships with no near by land base in range.

The British flew subsonic Harrier fighters. These could not fly at supersonic speed and were original designed as light attack aircraft for ground attacks. The Argentinian air force recieved training from the USA, and flew supersonic aircraft designed for air combat made in the 70's more then a match for Harriers like the super etendard and IAI Finger. The British superiority in training over come their fighters and im Canadian so lol.
