Very nice singing. Excellent voice with wide range. Emotion is coming through. Perfect transition from low to high to falsetto and back. Are you a professional singer...or have you studied with a classically trained voice teacher?
I laughed at your dressing gown at first. Then I cried. My mum used to play beautifully but she started going deaf and doesnt play anymore because she cant hear tones, I would love for her to be able to hear this.
actually i just joined youtube to comment on this one. my words may be to poor to really express how i feel about it; still, i have listened to "original" performances of it,. you know the ones with flute... but i never came across a more thrilling one than yours! and i deeply thank you for this! mr. pärth should feel utterly flattered about it!
oh, i am sure you can; but actually the sound of your piano beeing, how do you say? overmonitored or something, combined with your, as you put it, "flat and dodgy notes" in the voice is probably why it feels so intense to me. i have no idea what mr. pärth had in mind when composing it, but to me it is song of utter longing, grief and frailty...
I thank you firstly, for your honest heart felt version of this beautifull passage of music. Your hair is sticking up at the back, you have a rabbit on your bookshelf, your high notes are a little suspect but I love the honesty in your performance. Thank you and keep being real. Well done.
Thank you for your comment! The hair and the top notes? It was 9am, and I'm in my dressing gown. I'd found the score in the library rather hoping it to be Fratres, but turned out to be this Grade One violin piece. Glad you enjoyed it! x
don't mind that its not a 1000% perfect.
The way you do it is just right and deeply touching. Performing it with your voice singing the melody makes so emotional.
Just doyourself one favour: Go for a better mic or set the range of it, it kind of distorts from time to time.
Except this: Wonderful. "praeclare et egregie"

I think it was pretty cool how you sorta hummed it. The tempo seemed just a little unsteady.

Thought it was a tad fast... then the voice came in and I understood why.
Interesting because I thought of performing it for voice recently but wondered if it was possible! Great work (check out mine for clarinet!)
