The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love and mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife?

I like this video. The main problem is that some hear the word "universalism" and they think of a Unitarian type of theology that all religions are the same, but they are acting and calling people heretics before they think. Christian universalism simply teaches that ALL will eventually be saved by Christ and his blood. 1 Corinthians 15:22 would be very lopsided if the traditional view of "hell" were true. I am not a universalist yet but am getting closer to it all the time.

The only people I've found who have a problem with universal salvation are self-righteous Christians who ACT like they don't want people to go to hell but are absolutely determined that it stands no matter if you show them the original languages, meanings, ancient Jewish understanding, earliest Christian understanding, internal evidence, logic, nature of Christ, doctrine of ages, defeat of death & so on. They also claim there's no reason to follow Christ then, revealing the truth in their heart.

There is the danger of this doctrine of demons (and that's what it is). The ungodly are destroyed, not changed. Fire is a picture of spiritual judgement & purging sin (Isa4.4; 6.6-7) as in the sin offering, God is a consuming fire. Fire purifies as the lake of fire will in Rev20; cf Num16.46 vs Rev8.3-5. Flesh avails nothing, trial is of spirit/conscience: Rom12.20; 1Cor3.15; 1Pet4.12-13, Heb10.2.

@mytube4f As the temple was destroyed it was built back up. ALL are saved in their own order THROUGH CHRIST (not despite him). This does not mean all will escape judgement beforehand, but ALL will come to the truth & every knee will bow to the glory of God and confess him in their own time.

A natural conclusion to your antichrist doctrine would say there's no reason for Christ to sweat blood asking Father if he could pass the cup of wrath, because he already knew he would resurrect to glory.

@mytube4f Christ spoke parables using Jewish idioms in Mat25, NOT pagan concepts of endless incineration. Fire is symbolic of purification/sin-purging like the altar fire (Is6.6-7). Judgment+fire were often used together (Gehenna fire; Sod&Gom). Now S&G are not still burning, yet Jude v7 says it's an example of "eternal" (αἰωνίου, of the age/s) fire. Such translations are misleading.

1Pe4.12-13 serves an example of "fiery trial" as spiritual & harmonizes with Is4.4, judgment at end of the age.

But clearly there are two groups in Mat 25, having 2 different rewards: 1 groupe inherits life forever, the other is destroyed forever. They are NOT purified by the fire, they are destroyed by it, burned to ashes forever, hence the everlasting aspect of the punishment.

1Pet4:12-13 is not about judgment but trials that Christians would face while alive!

We disagree on meaning of "eternal" & "for ever & ever." Those terms in the original languages refer to ages or indefinite periods, not infinity. For ever & ever is not 2 infinities. Again: Jude gives the example of Sodom&Gomorrah of judgement by "eternal fire." Jonah spoke of being in sheol "for ever" & it was only 3days(Jonah2.6)

@salvationofall I apologize for my rude choice of language. As is true for most of the book of Revelation the language in Rev 20:14 is figurative. I believe it is saying mortality will no longer be the state of existence in the new heavens and earth. Death will no longer exist. Those who are in Christ will recieve the promise of eternal life. The only people who will inherit this promise are those who believed the truth (Jesus) and not the lie (Satan). Those who believed the lie will perish.

Many in the Christian world believe unrepentant sinners will have a second chance to be saved during a presumed future 7 year tribulation period after the rapture. Meaning all will be saved from their own evil, from the evil of others and all will be transformed from darkness to light. TBH anyone who thinks they can just "do as they want" hasn't believed in God. For a believer knows that we are all to be judged and justice will be done.
