Just seen James Taylor last night in Glasgow..first time I have heard this song..another great song and he was superb ..the Scots gave him a marvellous welcome ..and send off!
SOme of us may think that Nixon was a horrible president, but those lyrics are key in this song because that is the main idea about Nixon wanting to line up all the staff to shake their hand before he left the white house back in '74.

I remember being little and listening to this song in my dad's car back in the 90s. It brings back fond memories. :)
