Shoujo is a genre of anime aimed towards teenaged girls for this exact reason. I'm not saying that I really love a 2D character, but I am saying that if they were to exist in real life, that they would on my standard of "dateable". Also, even if I did have a boyfriend, it would be the same thing as if I thought a movie character was hot. :-)
