Millions of years ago, a great experiment was created, in hopes that from it a great race of compassionate and enlightened beings would arise. Unfortunately a small spaceship of people banned from other planets, consisting of dislikers, bureaucrats, lawyers, politicians, and pedophiles crashed onto the planet, thus ruining the experiment, and thus forever dooming so-called 'intelligent species' from ever feeling good about themselves.
A reason to click dislike would be the lack of correct pitches and off-sounding harmonies. Especially at the beginning they are far from being in tune. They sort of hit the same register but the second voice should much higher. Instead he hits the same note. Good song, but the performance is meh.
@susaninmaine I realize my comment sounded smug and overly critical. But while Fleet Foxes are a very unusual and creative band, I was still a bit disappointed the live version didn't feature the "two soft voices blended in perfection" I was hoping for. They sound a bit hoarse here. Nonetheless there is beauty in it.
@bitteoszillierensie well....the horseness may coincide with their singing/playing for, like, 40 gigs in 90 days in the US and Europe, and the lack of "perfection" otherwise may simply be it's not a studio take, Glad you are able to find beauty in this performance, ultimately, because beauty is certainly there.
Saw them a couple weeks ago in Berkeley and it was even better in person, if you can believe it. And they totally interacted with the audience. It was awesome.
I've been to so many concerts where people just talk over the band (or worse, text non-stop). Thank you polite German audience (4:17 in particular) for allowing me to hear the entire song without interruption.
@petersm69 Seattle appreciates art which I believe is important. It's a great enviroment for a musician/artist. I played a show in Tacoma, Washington (45 min from seattle) and was amazed at how receptive the audience was. Great place for music in general.
Whenever I listen to this, I picture myself as a little kid running quickly through a forest, full of mystery and wonder at the world around me. What a great song.
so many of you people think that its not a good performance because its not 100% perfect like all of those overproduced shitty, talentless mainstream artists who lip sync. of course its going to sound a lot better on the album because they can make it perfect and play with the levels and stuff but this is what real live music sounds like. real people playing real instruments coming together to play it amazingly live. that it thats all...
Clear and crisp as a winters morning, their English is so good we have the best langauge in the world ,i am thankfully English although not very well educated, i love to listen to the foxes ,Noel Coward , shakespeare and so many more .

these guys are sick live. the front man, he sounds pitchy when he does his little high pitch vocal solo but im sure its extremely difficult to stay in key in that high of a pitch
