Pois é... a gurizada se ocupa bastante da qualidade do som. Quem nasceu depois do digital, e sobretudo se não gravou nos anos 70 e 80, não consegue entender direito isso da qualidade - faz-se melhor que isso em casa, hoje em dia. Eu tinha visto as imagens mas com o som da versão do primeiro disco. Fiquei feliz de encontrar o audio original e poder curtir os caras tocando ao vivo e num palco pequeno, sem PA e sem over dubs. É o que era a banda mesmo. Do caralho. Obrigado pela postagem.

Awesome, awesome video. It's amazing to see Mark's unique (and rather bizarre) playing style. Noticed that they're playing half tone up to give that extra energy boost on the song. Just amazing.

I am glad someone else realises that this is the ORIGINAL UK single release. It has never appeared on any of the greatest hits either despite the original Vertigo single 6059 206 stating that it was an alternate version to the album one.

@tiggawild It's the album version with what sounds like a 79 live performance cut into the end section to extend the solo before it returns to the album version at fade out. You can hear the crackles from the vinyl. Video is from the original single which was released minus a verse (There's a crowd of young boys fooling around in the corner etc). That's why the photos appear mid-video.

This is a complete different version of sultans of swing which was recorded sometime in April 1978 and released as an alternate version to the existing album version. The uploader here has taken the audio from the alternate version, the video from the album version and put it together.

In fact, Mark Knopfler is one of my favourit guitar players, but the best solo in rock'n'roll history is "Stairway to heaven" on "The song remains to same" from Led Zeppelin concert in Madison Square Garden (1973), performed by Jimi Page.
