It brings back memories of my first trip to Greece in 2003. I was also on a ship and cruising the Saronic Gulf islands of Hydra, Poros and Aigina. I remember that day very well. A bouzouki player was playing and singing this song while the Greek dancers were on their break. The experience was moving. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Whenever I hear this song, I am transported to Greece--Ελλάδα--a country whose people and culture I love. Λατρεύω ελληνική γλώσσα.

Aboard a ship on a quick tour of the Greek isles of Hydra, Poros and Angina, I can still vividly remember two friendly Greek dancers, a gentleman and a lady, teaching me the basic steps of this graceful dance, with bouzuoki players doing the music. This is very beautiful and also touching. I dont know who are or were these guys. They seem brothers. Nana and her friends seems full of joy. Singing and dancing as they do mean an enticement to plunge into plenitude of life.

Glad you like this clip of Nana The guitarist is George (or Yorgos in Greek) Petsilas, Nana's first husband and leader of the group. George and his friends were singing in night clubs before they joined up with Nana and became her official backing group. The group changed members after a number of years until Nana and George separated, when the group finally disbanded. I absolutely loved all their collaborations and thought her best years were when singing with the original Athenians.
