Having seen both The Naked Time, and The Naked Now, it appears the writer of latter was trying to ape the former while having heard only the title and that the problem was caused by star induced drunkenness and they got the meaning of the title wrong.
The kind of naked in the Naked Time refers to the older meaning, to have ones defenses lowered (Spock feels all the emotions he's been suppressing, Kirk feels the full weight of command, etc.), The Naked Now refers to the newer meaning of nude.
FELLOW NERDS, I HAVE FOUND SOMETHING DUMBFOUNDING; bropuse on amazon the words "cardboard trek standup" and prepare to see the following; Doc zimmerman replaced with belly dancer Tuvok replaced with stripper Commander sisko replaced with cutout of a model T car Counselor try replaced with rodeo cowboy and bull B'elanna Torres; Leprechaun Captain picard; Snow boarders Kirk: wrestler Geordi laforge; white basket ball player Cheif miles o'brian; Snoopy and more. Someone, please explain?
I hope you put Threshold back up soon...although come to think of it, I almost want to encourage you to hold off and see if there are any additional thoughts and comments you'd like to make on it before putting it back up. lol
@clearspira They could have also just beamed in. That force field only covered the door way, it wasn't wrapped around the entire room. So they could have easily beamed in/out of there instantly.
May I ask, would it be possible to mark your reviews on blip as either older material that is being re-uploaded or new reviews? It's kind of hard to keepstraight, and I have watched every one of your past reviews...just would be helpful for those of us who have been here a while. =)
@BobChaos23 If it's Saturday it's new, if it's not, it's old. The only exceptions are the very rare instances where, like Scorpion, a multipart review will be wrapped into the following week, but otherwise, you can take it as gospel.
@sfdebris Is there any reason you can't upload all of your old material en masse? There are a lot of your reviews I've not yet seen but can't watch because they aren't on blip yet... I understand your wanting to re-do them in higher quality, but would it not be possible to upload all the old ones first?
I cannot express how silly it is that Data gets affected in this way by... Whatever the hell it was. I mean, he's a freakin' machine! I can think of several occasions where him being the only one who could survive a certain situation is a significant plot point. Even if it did affect him, it wouldn't make him act like a drunk human! With that logic, the ships computer should be getting it on with the crew!
one notable thing about this episode that isn't mentioned very often is that Wesly buys the time they need with actual factual newtonian physics and not some technobabble BS.
Here's a suggestion why don't we go to Cbs Feedback Section and send them a bunch of Angry Letters.

I love your reviews. I wonder does Kate Mulgrew ever watches your reviews. Have you ever consider doing Battlestar Galactia?

So... during the ''wesley has put a forcefield on the door scene'' why don't they just phaser through the plastic window?
clearspira 9 months ago
@clearspira Here's another thought. Why don't they Lock the communications systems used for official business?
