it happens automatically, once the game shoots me right as far as it can, it searches for a new way out, which is down.

I was descending so fast that when I grabbed the wall, momentum took me into the box, I then climb down the wall to the ground, and hold left, so the game ejects me right, out of the box, and into the wall until I hit a solid bit, I then drop out of the wall, and am in the "underground" bit.
