I have a question about up+z. When i do it with tap jump on i do an up smash but when tap jump off you can only do a grab. I still cant time it properly and get it to work so can someone who can do it anytime they want confirm that they can do it with tap jump off so im not wasting my time?

@frankyagernull I would just keep practicing with normal speed. When you practice in slow motion, the timing is different than if you were using normal speed, which can make it harder to get used to.

Is this possible with all characters or only with certain ones. I'm thinking of entering some tournies soon and need to learn some ATs. I know how to gatling combo with falco and after messing around on smashboards for a while so many people are talking about dacus so I wanted to see what it was. I've always just thought it was sprinting and using and up smash with either c-up or up+a

First off i'd like to say great dacus guide, i can now dacus on link, but not on wolf and i cant seem to get it at all on wolf, any suggestions? i know he has one.

@Jasou2 After trying it with Wolf, I realized that the timing seems to be a bit more tight in order to get the move right. My problem was that Wolf kept performing his dash attack, which means that I had to press Up-Z quicker. I don't know if you were having this same problem, but after a few more tries, I was able to get the timing down pretty consistently. Though Wolf's DAC seems to be a bit harder to master than Link's, keep practicing and work it into your matches and you should get it :)

@shaddowkarate I'm not familiar with the controls on the classic controller, but if there's a stick which you can use to deal smash moves, it should work.

@Takeshi607 I haven't heard of this being done with only the wii remote, but there's a chance that someone found out how. I remember when many people assumed that the only way to do this was with the gamecube controller, then a while later someone found out that it can also be done with the nunchuck. :)

@DarkMark04 Do a dash attack (any way is fine),time it just right, then hit Z+up on the left stick. Note:you should hit up right before you hit z. If you want to get the max length though, do a DACUS out of a instant dash attack.

@DarkMark04 I would rather say they have more differences then that. The classic controller and pro have different button placements for the A, B, X, Y, Z, L,and R buttons.The classic controller and pro are different to, because the Zr and Zl button placements on the classic controller pro are more similar to the ps2 controller. while the classic controller is closer to the SNES controller, but i do agree that the shape is pretty different.

Once again, I've never used the classic controller pro, so this is just my guess.

So its Dash-Down Smash-Up & Grab? Is this wrong or..? On my Gamecube controller the C-stick makes a smash attack and Z is grab.

@IcyBlade3003 To preform, you start by dashing. Look closely at 1:08 in the video. When shown in slow motion, it's easier to see that your character starts a dash attack when C-Down is pressed. This dash attack is then quickly canceled by an up-smash, which is preformed by pressing Z+up on the control stick. I hope this helps. :)

ok, so i was wondering. the target of the dacus is to use the up smash. so, can't you use the c-up instead after you use the c-down?

This actually causes a different effect. What happens is you dash attack, stop, and upsmash with no delay.

i prefer the cstick down then up method at low damages with Falco, cause its a quick combo for damage. but when the opponent has higher damage, the dash attack causes knockback and the upsmash misses, which is when up+z works better as it cancels the dash attack completely.

i never used the up + z but that does sound easier. the only one i could manage was falco's if i hit the person with the first part. This has a slower timing if the first attack connects then you do it because there's a delay on the frames when your hit connects. anyway...
