@codern yes it helps, because that way bands don't need to rely on labels and radios to promote themselves, and get more notoriety which pays when touring. nowadays bands and artists know they need to make music, play and tour to get money, and produce good quality music, instead of the old way when majors marketing could decide what would get fame and what would not... ask musicians.

@SkaffBear What you say is true in practice, I wont deny it...that said, bottom line, with everything that "helps" musicians today in this glorious computer age, the bottom line is, is that it is harder than ever, more competition, more shit music and more musicians struggling than ever...ask musicians. Of course, I don't think you have to, it's quite a no-brainer.
