Nobondy, Yes, place a bucket in the water. Next, look under stones until you see a crayfish. Take the bucket and put it BEHIND the crayfish. Scare the crayfish. It should dart back into the bucket. Take out the bucket and you've caught a crayfish!
Purge them for 12 hours in clean water first before cooking them, it makes the flesh taste sweet and you won't have to remove the shit canal. Also, don't cut of that section of meat that he did, also eat the flesh in the clwas.
LOL just one?? ive got traps so full the wont fit anymore crayfish, my trap was smaller than that one though, and it was metal. I would think in a place that has crayfish, you would catch more than one in 2 nights.
Thanks for that. There I was researching how to cook crayfish with my grandsons and there was your tasteful comment. Why don't you f**k off you insufferable prick!
before you cook the crayfish you can remove the "intestinal canal" by pulling on the middle scale at the tip of the tail, if you snap it left then right and then pull it will drag it innards out which saves you having to cut into it after it's cooked
I live in Idaho, where these guys are native. I always have my best luck trapping them on dead fish. Any kind of rough fish works. Carp and suckers work especially well. When I'm using them for cut bait, I always save the filleted out carcasses for my crawdad traps.
sorry this video is awsome but, if you go "crab fishing for these with red meat you WIN, i pulled in over 30 in under an hour (it wont always be that good but it kicks 1s ass thats pretty sad...jus 1!??? great video of how to gut it tho buddy all the best.
@redeye55i Have had heaps from the Thames at Oxford. Is better to leave them in a bucket of fresh water for a couple of days, so that they purge out all that they`ve been eating.

Thanks for the advice on when to trap. However for a more bushcraft style, I would have gone with a more natural trap or at least using trash (things you are likely to find lying around like a two liter bottle or something alone those lines.

top tip, click the middle 'fin' to the left and the right so it is loose, and then pull - all the intestines come out in one!
