  • I have discovered all your guides, and I am so grateful for them! Thank you!! I'm beginning to understand many things! :)

  • The Semenova turn is so beautiful!

  • great montage, just one question, I remember Catalina Ponor performing a double scorpion turn with her leg held backward and upward. It was one of the most beautiful turn I've seen. Isn't that on the code?

  • @xrictinagymnastics Yes she did, however you need to perform that skill at either the world championships or Olympics to get it named, however she did that spin at Europeans which doesn't count.

  • @LaVoix555 Thanks for letting me know, then I hope she brings it back in 2012 olympics because it was such a beautiful and difficult turn.

  • @xrictinagymnastics It really was, however it will be hard to get it back since she hasn't done it at all since 2006.

  • @LaVoix555 That's true, but to be honest I could expect everything from her, she was out for years and after only 7 months of training got 95% of her skills while most gymnasts need 1-2 years to do that.

  • what do you think a triple fan turn would be rated as?

  • i love Elena Gomez's turn. too bad no one performs it now or its barely used

  • @brycehelmer Mai Murakami and Catalina Ponor do the Gomez! Mai does one on beam as well and Yui Fujji can do one on beam too! Yui can even do a quint on beam! I wish Catalina would do the double scorpion but I sort of doubt it.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 i havent seen Mai do the gomez on floor. i've seen her do it on beam though. Ponor i have seen do it. thanks for that clarification though

  • @brycehelmer Here's a video of Mai attempting one on floor /watch?v=hTwzmLBstCw.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 thanks for that.

  • @brycehelmer you are probably one of the people i like discussing gymnastics with because you know what you are talking about lol

  • @brycehelmer No problem! Haha, that's such a nice compliment considering many people think I'm extremely biased haha. Well, yes I definitely am... And I agree. You, bernardmvella, and I are really getting into some good points on that video haha.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 i dont think you are really biased. you have some good argument and proof to back it up. But you just express your opinion like me and bernardmvella on that one video.

  • @brycehelmer Haha, people are saying I only like the Russians because of the fact that they are Russian... To me, that makes no sense because I like them because they have the best difficulty, execution, and artistry... It's a shame that many other Americans can't see that...

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 I know. Russia has everything that gymnastics was founded upon. and the Soviets (i should say) dominated that sport for 45+ years! It pisses me off though when the russians and on a less extence Romania and Japan have wonderful execution, but dont have high enough start values (sometimes) and dont end up on the podim, but gymnasts who perform F/G skills left and right with crappy execution end up with the medals. I love watching Russia;i love their style

  • @brycehelmer I agree completely. Vanessa Ferrari's 2010 EF FX routine was better than Mitchell's. I don't care what the judges think, it was the gold medal routine.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 I know. Vanessa shouldve taken that one. But now, you have to have a 6.5 + difficulty to get a shot at a medal. I vote we take back the old 10.00 system. Mitchell won that event final was because Beth didnt qualify, and Lauren has high difficulty. 6.3 i believe

  • @brycehelmer I agree. The 10.0 works the best. Rhythmic and I think acrobatic have a great system where it's difficulty + execution + artistry. Each is out of 10. Sadly, they don't award 30s, but many gymnasts get close. I really can't even stand the fact that Beth is a world champion on floor. Her tumbling is superb and she has good splits when she hits them... Even if they are cheated... But honestly, her dance in Tokyo was a riot... Mitchell actually has a 6.5 with everything credited.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 I saw Beth taking a world medal for the uneven bars. But not in 2010. That surprised me, because Kexin didnt qualify. And another thing that pissed me off was at 2006 worlds when Beth won the Bar Title and everyone said that Beth took the title away from Nastia. i mean seriously Grow up people

  • @brycehelmer I do not like Liukin on bars... I don't see it... People say she has impeccable form but she looks very... limp on bars. I'm not sure how to put it. She just looks lifeless in her body. Too many problems with her basics on bars.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 I kinda like her, but not really. i mean, she had 3 clear mistakes in her event final routine and she took silver. the judges there were a complete joke.

  • @brycehelmer She had more than three mistakes for me. The only skills she does without a mistake which should've/did face deduction are her Gienger, her toe shoot, and her stalder shoot.

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 i saw a lot of mistakes too. But any idiot couldve seen the 3 mistakes clearly, but the judges were probably oblivious for it and didnt give Nastia her full deductions. I even think her gienger got deducted when she re-grapsed with bent arms. i could be wrong. Her biggest mistakes were her pak salto(dont get me started on that), her 1/2 pirouette on the low bar, and her froggy dismount. She shouldve ended in bronze, or clear out of the medals like in 5

  • What about Ponor's double scorpion? They rated it as a D in competition so I figure they would've added it to the CoP even though it's not named after her since she competed it at Euros...

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 Yea i was wondering about her scorpion double turn. But she hasnt competed it at worlds or the olympics. But there's probably no doubt she'll perform it in London

  • Just thought you'd like to know that Lauren Mitchell performs a tuck spin in her 2010 floor exercise :)

  • I love Ksena Semenova's turns!

  • I find it odd that the single turns with leg at horizontal or split are each worth a B, but the double turns are each worth a D. If a gymnast doesn't complete a double turn, how much is deducted?

  • @musiclove6781 .2 of a devalue in the D score and then there's an additional deduction in the E score which is usually .1 for it being under-rotated.

  • Meryl and Charlie 2003 Junior Free Dance Music!!

  • Hey MostepanovaFan what does Lauren Mitchell get for her triple tuck spin?

  • what about the triple sit turn lauren mitchell does?

  • How come there are no wolf turns on this guide?

  • hello mostepanovafan, i found the full turn in tuck stand, you can type in 'chusovitina floor 2008 olympics gala', and there she did the full turn in tuck stand

  • i think you should make A tumbling gudie that would be great!!

  • Odd that the code just gives double or more back spins a B. I'd think a triple back spin would be a C, and it would be in the code (Li Li did it).

  • Chusovitina did the full turn in tuck stand at Cottbus 2003.

  • The double turn from Chusovitina should be D, I thinks it's more difficult than a triple spin

And the Pavlova should be C if properly done

  • MostepanovaFan, what do you think of Ponor's double scorpion? What difficulty rating would you give it?

  • When did Ponor do the double scorpion turn? I can't seem to find it.

  • Europeans 2006

  • i was gonna ask the same thing...she executed it so well to.

  • It must be a D.

  • Coll! And it shows that the turn are diffecult, too!^^

  • 4 turns thats would burn your feet but it looks amazing

  • So I just thought of an awesome montage idea...what about standing arabians & standing fulls on beam? It would be interesting to see the different techniques of gymnasts and how the skill(s) have progressed.

  • what about the doule turn with the leg at your head? Like Catalina Ponor?

  • chocolat's music! i loved that film. Thank you for to made all this videos! It help a lot

  • Speaking of turns, how do people tour jete? Do you say it all Frenchy like "zhuh-tay." or "jet"?

  • Oh I guess a tour jete is a leap, not a turn, but any answer would be appreciated!

  • French!

  • To vespertined: I guess to say it phonetically it would be tour zhuh-tay (with the stress on zhuh), because I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be an accent aigu over the second 'e', which makes it take on the 'ay' sound.

  • Thanks Moste! How about a guide to rolls and / or other similar floor work?

  • thank you so much mostepanovafan:)

i think lauren mitchell did a full turn in tuck stand at the 2009 australian nationals

  • Hey!! Nicole Tay's on it! :D That's so cool! :D Thank you so much for the guide! It's immensely helpful!

  • I love the music. What's the name of it?

I love spins. It's great when gymnasts have two turns in their routines.

  • It is Vianne Sets Up Shop from the Chocolat soundtrack

  • So there's no double back spin credited to Catalina Ponor?

  • Awesome job. I agree, we are getting spoiled. Thanks!

  • We are getting so spoiled with guides and compilations every day! I dread the ending of constant MostepanovaFanv videos! :)))

  • We are getting spoiled. I don't even watch TV anymore.

  • I still can't believe that these girls don't spot! I would get so dizzy. Could you do a leaps and jumps guide?

  • It is in the works, but it might take a bit of time as I'm still looking for some of the moves

  • Great, I can't wait!

  • thanks i can's wait

  • Very beautiful. Thank You. The Semenova is the best turn.

  • Oh Elena Gomez :-) **hearts** the lovely lovely releve' on a quad turn.
