If you claim to be a sovereign and grow your own could you go down the freeman route and claim that you have committed no crime as there is no injured party?
Check the freeman literature for more info on that.
It going to happen. The support for it is phenominal. People who work in the drug treatment facilities (who use propaganda to stem marijuana use) Police officers (were because marijuana is illegal, it is thrown in with drugs like heroine, coke, meth) need to get their heads out of thier ass. I would respect an opninion against it that is based on unbiased scientific information, But as it stands, these people will not have my respect.
Revelation 4.4 the 4 and 20 elders. LOL. I wish it does become legal soon. Hopefully a person stoned outta their gourd will save the president or something cool like that, Just hoping.
@djr3000 Yeah, like your inability to see him/her when he/she presents itself. Who do you think created it? It's obviously on you to use it responsibly but make no mistake on where it came from...
the tree of life is part of a picture of Heaven, something which is yet to come.. Plus right at the begining of the book of revelation it tells us that everything is set forth in symbols, ie there wont be a literal set of trees, or rivers, but these things symbolise the abundance of a Chrisian's salvation, eternally blessed with the full measure of communion with God.
@djr3000 OK so there you have it people... Another 'intellectual' who thinks that trees aren't really trees and rivers aren't really rivers. Wake up, bro.
I suggest to anyone who reads this that you recycle your 'Religions' and focus more on your Truths, your Values, and your Relationships. If the end is near, God is only going to accept people, from all cultures, who he/she knows will be able to live peacefully with him/her. AND The TREE OF LIFE will be there... :-)(-:
your talking out of your spiritual ass hole. Your taking small pieces that apperently fit with your agenda from a book which God intended soley for the purpose of revealing his saving plan, which is Jesus, and trying to make it fit with your opinions. I suggest that if you think that the tree of life part of the the bible is true, regardless of what it symbolises, then you must take the rest of it as truth.
@djr3000 Bro, you can't even use the word spiritual because you seem to be one of those people that believes everything you hear. First of all, ask God yourself. Second, there are a lot of books out there. I'm interested in TRUTH and I know Jesus better than you so close your mouth. Marijuana is the TREE OF LIFE and I won't believe your blind faith mumbo jumbo.
djr3000: While I don't believe in God, and find religion to be completely ridiculous, I have more respect for the fundamentalists than the ones who cherry-pick. If you're going to follow one of the rules from a religion, you have to follow all of them, even the nasty ones, take it or leave it (preferably the latter.)
@yerk3 I do believe in evolution and God does exist. Why would you just quote the Bible and then say that, smart guy... You just lost any credibility. I thought atheists used their logic... HA
aWhiteFlag: Biblical Christianity and evolution are incompatible. The Bible makes numerous positive claims which have either been discredited by science, or which have no scientific basis. How do I "lose any credibility" by simply stating that you can't have your cake and eat it too?
djr3000: It depends on which "God" you're talking about. If you're talking about Yahweh, then he's really more concerned about punishing tons of innocent people for the sins of their leaders and prescribing disproportionally harsh punishments for ridiculously minor offenses than weed. Leviticus says that if you see your dad naked, you have to blind yourself with lye, but it doesn't say anything about weed.
"I don't think they understand how many lives are gonna be lost. Are you kidding me? Seriously in our community legalizing drugs?"
First off stop generalizing. Marijuana does not = "drugs". A drug... sure why not, but "drugs"... nothing but scare tactics when you don't have a legitimate argument on the subject.
Secondly, how many lives are gonna be lost? How many lives have been lost to marijuana use? More scare tactics.
I agree 100% with the cop at 1:17 I also think the drug prohibition is dangerous to the youth and the public health as well. That is why legalizing it will be so great
I also agree with the black preacher at 1:20. I don't think the government understands how many lives will be lost if the drug prohibition doesn't end.
But this bill is helping the end of the pain to everyone in humanity. so everyone wins!!! :)
It is the cure for cancer,AIDS,world hunger, Economy, fuel dependency, and boredom!
the preacher was not agreeing, and the cop just said he wantsd what the people want, but he still thinks it's a bad idea. and how does this help with world hunger lol
wow, i was twisting what the cop and preacher said so it sounded like they were agreeing with ending the prohibition
plus marijuana had the highest amount of protein out of any plant in te world. That means that all the thrid would countries could grow it and eat it as a natural reoccurring food supply because it can grow anywhere
I don't believe that anyone has died of pot use. The truth is that legal or not people who want it will use it and this puts money in the hands of criminals. .
They're not legalizing DRUGS, they're legalizing the safest and most used illegal drug in the world. If anything it was just plain stupid how it wasn't legalized already.
people are stupid it is safe for people and also by legalizing it it takes it out of the hands of drug dealers that don't ask for id cards but liquor stores that do and thats why it is hard for kids to get alcohol not drugs
Bishop Ron Allen???? brother???? do your homework on cannabis before you stand in front of a crowd lying to'em! and you mention death caused by this non-processed natural plant...WHAT FUCKIN' DEATH associated with weed are you referring to? shipments from the Gulf of Mexico, the West Indies, Africa, came into New Orleans perfectly legal...into the jazz clubs...ohhhhh but somebody got mad cause that stick-icky attracted specific women. What are you gaining from this, or do you just not know?
Yeah, well, when it's really legal, if California should experience any kind of natural disaster (fire, flood, faminine), expect Pat Robertson to say, "Now, see. The Lord told me, California was stricken because of the pact it made with the Devil's weed." Smoke it, grow it, or sell it or tax it.
Oh....the carnage!!!!! where are the bodies right now dumbtard!!! It is just culture. And you can't stand it, but learn to deal with it. Just like alcohol. Deal with it.
I watched the ~hour long discussion of this bill so I got to see the Bishop's reason for opposition. He said he has buried 6 young adults in the past year due to drugs, and he points to one in particular, ( I think 23 y/o) and she died from Ecstacy...I don't see where these people are coming from, the bill only includes Marijuana legalization, nothing else. As for the police officers, what are they doing on either side of the debate? As stated in the video, it's their job to enforce, not debate
@Superballpogo Thanks for the input. I wonder if the bishop approves of putting young black men in prison alongside murderers, rapists, and child molesters for smoking a joint, or if he believes you should be denied a government grant or scholarship to get a college education if you're even caught with a marijuana seed, for the rest of your life.
NO LIVES ARE GOING TO BE LOST, shut up ron allen!!!! in fact, many kids wont get arrested and have their lives ruined by the terrible marijuana laws we have!!!! he should realize that many black kids get arrested for just marijuana use and it makes it nearly impossible for them to get jobs and go to college because of it...
@copcorna , i hope god hears you , 2010 is the year of legalization, come one people, we need to speak, and say, WE SMOKE GOD DAMM IT, DONT BE AFRAID TO SAY LEGALIZE MARIJUANA!
You just have to see things from Ronald Allen's point of view. The extortion of money is based on fear and ignorance. Without an out of control black market and funding obsessed law enforcement destroying countless families, Bishop Allen would have a harder time finding victims.
Im about to become a police officer and I support legalization. Less time Officers have to spend going after hard working adults who commit no other crimes the more time we have to go after real criminals.
here in México there is a bloodbath going on. President Kalderon is going specially hard against drugdealers sending even the army... as I said, a bloodbath and as you know, a futile bloothbath. We will never get rid of drugdealers as long as there are people who consume illegal drugs. So what must we do? 1. continue the war on drugs in vain, or 2. simply taking the illegal status of marihuana and making it legal and by this respecting the people right to consume it...
let's face it, México isn't a sovereign country. each year DEA makes a list of countries that did a good job in the drug war or didn't. In order to make it legal in Mexico it must be legal in USA first...
I would just like to critizice your "usa wannabe-countries" a bit. USA is still the most powerful country but that doesn't mean that it is most beloved one. Sure USA is the home of enormous treasures: Faulkner, Twain, Poe, Jefferson, Gershwin, Jazz, elite science, etc. but that is just the elite, a great part of the public is fat, ignorant, self-righteous, religious, consumers of junk food, junk music, junk celebrities and junk culture.
@eurabio i totally agree im out numbered by idiots in the states but this makes it easier for me to my way. im going for science and theres not too much competition so that makes it easy, because you know the drones are stuffing their faces and watching/listening to crap. and there is a lot of demand so they praise us for the crap we make them that they need so much and they make the elite more powerful. and then the elite make their country more powerful.
yea but all of this news is california this california that I DONT GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT CALI!!! bring this to the east coast why just one state?????
1:17 lives lost??? i dont think that he realizes that or even knows that not a single person in the history of marijuana has died as a result of its use. unlike alcohol or tobacco which are the top two killer drugs in the country.
I find that the opposition uses the word "pothead" to label marijuana users in a negative sense. It is like calling all people who drink alcohol "alcoholics".
well technically it is a drug, the government defines a drug as anything that isnt' a food that changes your mental or physical state. and so that does include coffee and cigs, but just because its a drug doesn't mean its bad for you.
1:35 No no, are YOU kidding me?? A black christian bishop against marihuana. Life doesn't gets more ironic than this. If you mr. black bishop knew a bit of history, you would know that racism against the black community was a big reason for the prohibition of marihuana in the first place.
Gigantic amazing ignorance and religion on the same side, when have we heard about that?
1:17 "I believe it's dangerous to our youth, I believe bla bla bla..."
First of all we don't care what you believe, this is a social issue and not an esoteric or religious discussion were believe, faith or following your heart is important. The important thing here are facts and reasons.
Second, I "believe" the only thing at risk here is yours and other parasites jobs.
California is a joke on a lot of things. But breaking down the walls on this silly prohibition has been admirable.
This is so hopeful. We are seeing history being made. I have more hope for legalization than I have ever had. In fact, as little as five years ago I didn't think I would see it in my life time. Now, I think it is only a matter of time before several states have legalized.
Well Ms. Jordan @ 6:21 I doubt you know jack about long term effects.
Actually I know some (not all) folks are MORE energetic and motivated while "high on pot".
Better get the pharma cops on top of it right away! We can't have peeps using a natural substance when there's MONEY to be made by synthesizing it. SARC
As usual, it has been politicized and legalization hinges on monetary gain, thanks to our hierarchy of capitalistic narcissists.
It is about time that politicians owned up to the error in their ways, the prohibition of Marijuana has never worked and will never work. Legalizing it is the right thing to do, SO make it happen californians!!
Lol at him saying that the 50 doller ounce tax would drive people to buy from dealers lol?
Why the fuck would you spend 100 dollers on some jank ass mexican weed when you could spend lets say 150 and get primo hydrologically grown indoor controlled enviroment cannabis.
Those black preacher dudes really made me kind of ashamed to be human. They're not even trying to make a logical argument, it's all emotion, "there will be CARNAGE!! FEAR! FEAR! PANIC!!"
"Hooked on pot?" LOLOLOL!!! That's like saying someone's "hooked on coffee," since the one is just about as addictive as the other. Yet when's the last time you heard of someone selling their TV for a bag of beans, or being found in a restroom with a spoon, a lighter and some Folgers?
That preacher comes from a neighborhood that is drug ravaged. He thinks that if all drugs were to become legal the area would be gone to shit. Actually, people would be able to get help if it were legalized, and it could shut down the black market that has drug deals gin on in his hood.
Go tell that to Rob Van Dam and all the other wrestlers and atheletes who use marijuana to losen up before a game or show who use marijuana for pain and for concentration while at a workout not LACK of concentration you fool lol god this video makes me feel bad to be a human
I wasn't aware such idiots could speak so freely lol.
What scares me the most was the student that said "the people would be too free" @6:57 WTF?!?!? What does that dumb ass know about freedom? Does anyone know her name, email address?? if too much freedom scares you, get the fuck out! does anyone else want to throw up? that idiot is old enough to vote.
Notice how the one person on the street, fully ignorant about the working of the brain, perverted the science to scare people. Anyone who still claims marijuana is dangerous or hurts your brain worse than any other prescription drug is doing one of two things: Arguing from ignorance or lying to your face.
@bamboo4tameshigiri Politicians don't understand...they don't want to try. They're the same type of people who believe EVERYTHING everyone ever told them as a child, and they still continue to believe it. Marijuana is no more of a drug than caffeine, and the sooner we start pulling those bullshit "Above the Influence" ads and begin teaching kids that it's as alright to smoke marijuana as it is to drink AS A RESPONSIBLE ADULT, we'll be able to get over this nationwide fear of a simple drug.
The real problem is that the US is the most fascist police state in the entire civilized western world. Prohibition is one of the biggest and most profitable industries left in this country.
how the hell does these people who say no talk....listen to them..."your kidding me","our youth will be at risk" "our community willl be devestated" HOW ,HOW I ASK YOU
Those long-term effects she spouts came right out of reefer madness! It is a myth! I have been working the same job for 30 years, I smoke in the evenings instead of drinking to unwind. It is safer! And I wake refreshed for my job every day. Your average drinker can't even say that!
A plant that grows in the dirt with many useful properties including medicinal purposes. Why would this be illegal? This is a good step and i look forward in watching this excellent progression :D
The woman who said long time marijuana use impacts students' motivation and academia performance is a LIE or at least a theory without research or evidence. I know plenty of college student marijuana smokers who are high achievers with anywhere from 3.5 to 4.0 GPA and who are graduate students!
They, my college and rock climbing friends, acknowledge their marijuana usage when the subject comes up or when someone asks them about it.
I am very positive that marijuana usage and vocality is not correlated with one's intelligence. My friend's parents still smoke pot, yet the father is a CEO of a successful business, and they are wealthy people.
I think it is just a matter of personal choice or factored by fear of "being caught" to admit marijuana usage or not.
That preacher is obviously an ex crackhead, incapable of critical thinking,And of course if you profit from pot being illegal you will be against legalization.

Superballpogo 2 years ago

@Superballpogo Thanks for the input. I wonder if the bishop approves of putting young black men in prison alongside murderers, rapists, and child molesters for smoking a joint, or if he believes you should be denied a government grant or scholarship to get a college education if you're even caught with a marijuana seed, for the rest of your life.
keytoothed 2 years ago 3
NO LIVES ARE GOING TO BE LOST, shut up ron allen!!!! in fact, many kids wont get arrested and have their lives ruined by the terrible marijuana laws we have!!!! he should realize that many black kids get arrested for just marijuana use and it makes it nearly impossible for them to get jobs and go to college because of it...

You just have to see things from Ronald Allen's point of view. The extortion of money is based on fear and ignorance. Without an out of control black market and funding obsessed law enforcement destroying countless families, Bishop Allen would have a harder time finding victims.

Im about to become a police officer and I support legalization. Less time Officers have to spend going after hard working adults who commit no other crimes the more time we have to go after real criminals.

it is a matter of making it legal for people to choose THEIR adult recreational substance.
many people believe marijuana is a MUCH safer alternative to alcohol.
once these issues hit the ballot boxes, all over the USA, many closet smokers will support it because it is a secret ballot.
then things will change.

here in México there is a bloodbath going on. President Kalderon is going specially hard against drugdealers sending even the army... as I said, a bloodbath and as you know, a futile bloothbath. We will never get rid of drugdealers as long as there are people who consume illegal drugs. So what must we do? 1. continue the war on drugs in vain, or 2. simply taking the illegal status of marihuana and making it legal and by this respecting the people right to consume it...
eurabio 2 years ago 3
let's face it, México isn't a sovereign country. each year DEA makes a list of countries that did a good job in the drug war or didn't. In order to make it legal in Mexico it must be legal in USA first...
eurabio 2 years ago
I would just like to critizice your "usa wannabe-countries" a bit. USA is still the most powerful country but that doesn't mean that it is most beloved one. Sure USA is the home of enormous treasures: Faulkner, Twain, Poe, Jefferson, Gershwin, Jazz, elite science, etc. but that is just the elite, a great part of the public is fat, ignorant, self-righteous, religious, consumers of junk food, junk music, junk celebrities and junk culture.
eurabio 2 years ago
Sure, i agree that america put out alot of shit.
But like you said, america is the most powerful country, so other countries want to be like it, and takes after alot of stuff they do.
whateverTobbe 2 years ago
@eurabio i totally agree im out numbered by idiots in the states but this makes it easier for me to my way. im going for science and theres not too much competition so that makes it easy, because you know the drones are stuffing their faces and watching/listening to crap. and there is a lot of demand so they praise us for the crap we make them that they need so much and they make the elite more powerful. and then the elite make their country more powerful.

MVDimovich 2 years ago 2
well technically it is a drug, the government defines a drug as anything that isnt' a food that changes your mental or physical state. and so that does include coffee and cigs, but just because its a drug doesn't mean its bad for you.
freaks182 2 years ago 2
1:35 No no, are YOU kidding me?? A black christian bishop against marihuana. Life doesn't gets more ironic than this. If you mr. black bishop knew a bit of history, you would know that racism against the black community was a big reason for the prohibition of marihuana in the first place.
Gigantic amazing ignorance and religion on the same side, when have we heard about that?

Yet when's the last time you heard of someone selling their TV for a bag of beans, or being found in a restroom with a spoon, a lighter and some Folgers?
yerk3 2 years ago 6
That preacher comes from a neighborhood that is drug ravaged. He thinks that if all drugs were to become legal the area would be gone to shit. Actually, people would be able to get help if it were legalized, and it could shut down the black market that has drug deals gin on in his hood.

Shroctopus 2 years ago 2
Notice how the one person on the street, fully ignorant about the working of the brain, perverted the science to scare people. Anyone who still claims marijuana is dangerous or hurts your brain worse than any other prescription drug is doing one of two things: Arguing from ignorance or lying to your face.
bamboo4tameshigiri 2 years ago 2
@bamboo4tameshigiri Politicians don't understand...they don't want to try. They're the same type of people who believe EVERYTHING everyone ever told them as a child, and they still continue to believe it. Marijuana is no more of a drug than caffeine, and the sooner we start pulling those bullshit "Above the Influence" ads and begin teaching kids that it's as alright to smoke marijuana as it is to drink AS A RESPONSIBLE ADULT, we'll be able to get over this nationwide fear of a simple drug.
tankster52 2 years ago 4
@tankster52
The real problem is that the US is the most fascist police state in the entire civilized western world. Prohibition is one of the biggest and most profitable industries left in this country.

Those long-term effects she spouts came right out of reefer madness! It is a myth! I have been working the same job for 30 years, I smoke in the evenings instead of drinking to unwind. It is safer! And I wake refreshed for my job every day. Your average drinker can't even say that!

The woman who said long time marijuana use impacts students' motivation and academia performance is a LIE or at least a theory without research or evidence. I know plenty of college student marijuana smokers who are high achievers with anywhere from 3.5 to 4.0 GPA and who are graduate students!
Suwai0303 2 years ago 4
How vocal are they about their marijuana use?
From personal experience, it seems like the more vocal someone is about their marijuana usage, the dumber they are..
As the "smart" marijuana users, do it for their own enjoyment and stay mum about it
Hell, I know some people who obviously do NOT enjoy marijuana. But do it for acceptance (REALLY stupid)
thefakeyeti 2 years ago
@thefakeyeti,
They, my college and rock climbing friends, acknowledge their marijuana usage when the subject comes up or when someone asks them about it.
Suwai0303 2 years ago
@thefakeyeti, the smart smokers are starting to come out of the closet(finally). Steve Jobs, Ted Turner, etc.
TheSkinzilla 2 years ago
the marijuana community is gaining momentum. this is good news, and they have to keep pluggin away. we will see big big changes in the next 1-3 years
eLLriDe420 2 years ago 2
Why do they bring up teachers, doctors, and policemen? TO hell with them..
Don't speak to my "heart" speak to my intellect. I want to hear, voices from historians, economists, and lawyers.
Those who understand the history, those who understand the economy behind it all, and those who understand the constitution.
---
Prohibition only speaks to the heart of people, there is no intelligent basis for it..
Legalization speaks tot he heart AND the intelligence..
thefakeyeti 2 years ago 5
i doubt if there ARE any historians or economists they could parade up to the microphone that would be a proponent of this issue.
as for attorneys... they probably stand to lose a good deal of money if a half MILLION people aren't get busted for pot every year!
cops, prisons, attorneys all stand to lose.
but especially folks that derive their income from alcohol/big pharma funded associations.
make it legal for adults, and keep it away from kids.
