  • Why is it that in every video with a chevy versus a tuner an argument about the gt-r and zr-1 occurs? Who cares whats faster. Why would I spend 90k on a nissan? to be honest the corvette is worth it to me, because it is a muscle car that can hold its own to nearly any production car ever built, in a straight line and the corners. The other guys dont like it because we can now be a competitor with ferraris and lambos, etc. on a road course and do it better now than ever before.

  • Last time i checked there arnt any GTR's, Zr1's, CTS-v's in this video. This is about a ws6 with more power than a supra. Thats it. I cant stand internet racers. If you lose you lose. go get more power and try again

Nissan even says so on their website...and I think that if you are able to buy the new 2010 GT-R for $85K, you can use some or all of the $30K you'd save over a ZR-1 to mod it and match its performance. In reality if you are spending that much money on a car you just get the one you like because it is better than 99.9% of the other cars on the road.

  • @TheMrsosito if im not mistaken...a type r is only 270 hp and TURBO...a 350z is only 305 hp...and the 370z is 326 hp...the Genesis with their V8 is only 375...if you compare that with the V8's of the same model year...your lookin at more hp in the v8 avarage at lower rpms than that of your v6 that has to whine at around 6000 to 9000 rpms to do what the v8 is doing at 4000 to 5000...Ford, Chevy and Chrysler have an answer for all of them

  • @SebastianLong the type r is not turbo its a naturally aspirated v6 the genesis is not a v8 the engines might make less power than the v8 but the power to wight ratio is way better than most american cars not tomention suspension and overall track performance. american cars are good but they need to start evolving like japanese or european cars. its common sense that more cylinders and more displacement are gonna give u more power but they are still lazy v8 engines unlike japanese or europeanv8

  • @TheMrsosito maybe you should look up the genesi...they have 6s and an optional 8...you realize that a v8 has to work less to keep up or pull away from a v6 than the v8 is doing?...torque is the twisting force applied to a tire...and 6's and 4's dont have that kinda torque without multiplying the hp via super or turbo chargers...and even that guy from top gear proved it on a show for "gas mileage" ...BTW...84 five speed dodge ram fullsize driven right will get 35 miles to a gallon...

  • @SebastianLong we are making a v8 comparison vs a 6 or 4 cyl engine cars thats why i mentioned the genesis and yea v8 make lots of torque but torque or hp is nothing if the cars wight 4000 pounds or close to that compared to 3500 pounds tops on most japanese cars look up power tp wight ratios and you will see that hp or torque means nothing if the power to wight ratios are not good

  • who cares my 06 ram cummins would take both, just built will put vids up of street and track as soon as my camera gets back. twin turbo pushing around 55 psi with 2, 250 shots of nitrous, i grabbed one turbo out of an 18 wheeler and i use the stock turbo to wind that one up lol. many other mods i beat zr1's all day at the track and the street. but respect for both cars. i also own my own deisel performance shop too soo i get shit for way cheap.

    Heffner GT have 1900whp at 40psi of boost, special tuned gearbox, gear-set, changed gear ratios, and all internals are changed, special tires.

    BL Supra have stroker block and stock head with all changed internal producing only 1400whp, so your comparing is stupid.

    Ford 5.4 liter engine in GT is not OLD and it has modern style, it's DOHC not fuckin' OHV like GM's engines. Ford GT engine is more similar to V8 in Europe and Japan, than from US.

    This engine (Ford GT 5.4) works with less boost than Supra, simply because it has more displacement. Supra 2JZ block suffer from very high boost to keep power on high level.

Selective Ride Control was new system tested on Porsche 959 which was very interesting car with many inventions for road car use. After that same system was taken by GM to 1989 Corvette. Germans realize that was very bad system so they developed much better Full Active Suspension Management which is way batter than MSRC. Delphi Corporation developed MSRC for Gm cars and in 2009 for Italia 458 and...

  • @2jzgtejza80 The only performance part that the ZR1 uses that is European, is the Enzo-derived carbon-ceramic brakes, both front and rear. Also, the suspension isn't all that makes a car for circuit purposes, it's the chassis as well. Both ACR and ZR1 were built for that purpose plus the adding of comfort for a normal everyday use, like plenty supercars out there.

Ferrari engineers realize that Italia 458 would make better time attack on Ring with Active than with MSRC suspensions. That's why GT3 RS have very low time on Ring comparing to Ferrari. and you are right, ZR1 have all brakes taken from Enzo, tires by french Michelin, and suspensions generally by US Delphi

And as far as the other lap record they had, the GT-R had been prepped with SpecV parts, non-stock tires, and probably some tuning as well (You can see on the straights, the heavy GT-R runs as fast on the straights as the lightweight / more powerful ZR1.. At the time the vid first came out, Nissan said the car was bone stock, now they say different.. LOL! Nissan = FAIL!.. ZR1 OWNS IT =]

  • @normanaw Not only the ZR1 and ACR beat the GT-R to a pulp, the Z06 Carbon does it as well, and there's a CF-Z package for the Z06 that enables it to beat the GT-R as well.. It's amazing how these cars all manage to beat the competition and they don't need a silly AWD system + paddle shifters combo in order to do so. Maybe the Japs and Euros have a long way to go if American cars were to use this technology in their cars.. And there's a Camaro ZL1 coming out, seems more than track-ready, too =]

  • @dt262 I have a website right here that states the 2JZ-GTE can boast upwards of 1000hp on stock internals. Personally I think the 2JZ-GTE and the RB26DETT are some of the best and my personally favorite engines.

    No it can't. 2JZ as block can handle more than 1500bhp without blowing. Very strong bottom end and front. It's made from composition of gray cast iron and compacted graphite iron = (vermicular graphite cast).

    Engine parts in 2JZ comes all forged from factory, and can endure actually double power without destroying. I know some people driving 700 bhp Supra's on some stock internals, but bearings are changed, Bearing can endure only 550-600bhp.

  • @Angola..... the factory horsepower for a 94 lt1 in an f-body was 275. not 250 and technically they don't make a gto any more and WE make the camaro in the US and Canada. they do not get made with the vuaxhal, manaro, or commadore. YOU should do be the one doing some reading. If you want to get technical the reason drag racers usually run auto's is because they are more consistent than a manual. And wow a 14.5......... i ran that in my four wheel drive truck!!!!!!!!!!

  • Everyone, this guy thinks a Trans Am is a 10L engine. Depending if he has a stroker or not he could range from 5.7 to roughly 7.0. If it was a 10L engine, that jap crap would have gotten destroyed and that T/A wouldn't even need a turbo.

  • @so2fast4u2 Everyone always talks big about those turbo 3L supra motors.... until a turbo SBC (small block chevy) walks all over it with nearly half the boost. Then the ricer fanboys scream that it's not fair. Get used to it. Bolt on turbo kits are becoming more available (cheaper) and more imports are going to face the wrath of V8's with hairdryers.

    I believe the TTi in this T/A is a 60-62mm turbo. They make a 76-80mm kit but that is for racing applications. If the T/A had that kit it would be making a GOBS of power, more power than a street car would have.

    I'm not completely sure about this setup though. I'd look it up in all honesty.

  • @waldir bullshit a 94 trans am only puts out around 250hp max and my girls non-turbo 6 put 220 all day long ...read a fucken book when has a trans am ever been quick.without big mods they are good looking thats it. and before you say anything yes i own a v8 and yes i have built more than one. its about the gear ratio's people put big hp through a close ratio import gearbox means constant shifting thats why most strip cars run auto
