  • :') bravo Simone

  • Very nice, I loved it. I am a harpsichordist...and I have never played a Spinet....is the touch different? Is the mechanics of the instrument different, or the same? I don't know much about spinets, although I know they are related to the harpsichord and sound similar. Okay thanks!!! Keep up the great playing :)

  • Thanks, Simone. I enjoyed your playing very much. You have a lovely instrument; it must be your greatest treasure. All the best. Laraine

  • First heard this piece when it was included in Electronic Arts's Deluxe Music Construction Set for the Amiga personal computer.

  • Excellent interpretation, I really enjoy the tempo, very honest interpretation with no other motives than enjoy every note. I certainly Couperin would liked it. Thanks for posting, by the way... I wish to have a harpsichord like you Is it a new Spinet or a restored instrument?

  • beautiful--i love the tempo. i always think of this piece as a melancholy journey, returning to a happy home. comfort music.

  • Straordinario.

    Come sempre.

  • Great expression.. this is a superb performance!

Complimentissimi !

  • Nice performance, maybe a little too much ritarding at the end for my taste, but very nice overall.

  • You must read "Imprimatur" by Monaldi and Sorti. The Rondo "Les Baricades..." plays a role in this book. But the Rondo is accredite to Francesco Corbetta in this book.

  • Obvious question: what are the mysterious barricades? F Couperin gave descriptive names to his pieces, so what picture is he painting with this hypnotic mesmerizing tune?

  • Good question.

This piece always made me think of a garden - or a grove - at the evening, or late afternoon, when all is still and silent...so could they be the walls of a maze ? This is my suggestion.

  • beautiful !!!

  • nice to see it played at a reasonable speed...so many people try to tear through it so fast the beauty of the bass line againest the melody and the phrasing are lost

  • Fantastic! I adore this piece (I'm actually attempting - not terribly successfully - to learn to play it at the moment) and it sounds gorgeous on your spinet, really lush and rich. You play with such character and expression - marvellous!

  • Really great performance.. spot on! Excellent sound from the spinet, too!

  • Excellent control!

  • Man, your Spinet sounds really great! Does is have two 8'? It sounds very Cembalo-like.

    Greatings from Germany

  • greatest version ive heard on youtube that someone has tried to play. Great Work!

  • Lovely. Nice tuning, too.

  • I enjoy all of your videos very much. Your playing is marvelous. But I'm curious; your spinet seems to have a different tone in each video. For instance, for this Couperin, the spinet has a very French tone, and on the Frescobaldi it has a very Italian tone. I'm presuming your spinet has only one set of 8' strings. I'm very interested, as I am considering buying a Bizzi spinet, and I'm hoping I can play a wide variety of repertoire . Thank you.

  • Very good job, I love this sound

  • I was curious to hear Couperin on a spinet. It actually works quite well. Thank you.

  • How does a spinet differ from a harpsichord (or clavichord)?

  • great!!!!!!!!

that's a nice masterpiece of the baroque keyboard music, and you play it very well!!!

5 stars, you are so good!!!

  • Absolutely lovely!

  • Mola! =)

  • BRAVO!

    from Japanese audience

  • Very jazzy performance. Maybe not "inegale" but very plesant to liten to.

  • Great! I love this short piece lol

  • All at a very high level: music, your playing,

    audio/video. Thank you for sharing.

  • great job

    wonderful

  • Precioso. Suena muy fluido y natural. :)

  • Simone, I'm making a recital program for a school project. Can you tell me any special characteristics about this music? Specific contexts, historical saying about this piece? What should we listen for in this music? Nice playing by the way.

  • Great music played beautifully I loved it and listened to it twicw through

  • do caralho!!!!!! you did it! beautiful!

  • Such beautiful playing - I listen to this piece often. One simple question - what pitch is your spinet tuned to?

    Thanks, Dave

  • Thanks for your comment. My spinet's tuning is based on werckmeisterIII temperament with A at 415Hz. I have to improve french tuning, that is very similar to meantone.

    Regards

    S

  • Really beautiful !

    Tahnks

    Val ;-)

  • Muito emotivo.

    lindo! bravo!

  • Beautiful. I like your other performances on Youtube also. There is so little good classical music on there at the moment. These are a rare treat.

  • I truly think that this is not only very musical, but a very convincing interpretation of the work.

    Regards

  • Great performance, Simone!!!

    Congratulations ;-)

I love this piece, I hope to play it one day.

  • FANTASTICO!!!

  • You play wonderfully. A dignified performance. Never stop playing, you do it so well.

  • The only thing missing is a French-double........great job!

  • Beautiful! Your performance of this piece is my favorite on YouTube.

Are you familiar with another piece by Couperin named "Le rossignol en amour"? There are no recordings of it in print and I have not heard it in years. Could you play it?

    Greetings from New York City.

  • Eccellente come sempre.

Esiste un Dvd contenente i Suoi filmati pubblicati su Youtube?

Se non esiste, è ora di pubblicarlo!

  • Simone, thank you so much for this delightful rendition. I love your rich-sounding instrument and its tuning. ;-)

  • In my opinion Couperin wroted this piece thinking about the sound of a harp, because of the particular way he wrote the notes. You render exactly what I imagine, I love your performance !

  • I usually listen that piece from Wanda Landowska and I can tell that you are performing very well.

    Thank you.

  • Damn good piece, great performance

  • I love that piece. Gorgeous interpretation! Congratulations, Simone.

  • I like the way how you play this lovely piece, thank you. I hope it sonnds much better if you could re-tune your nice harpsycord.

  • I usually tune my spinet with Werckmeister III temperament, not with equal. thank you for your comment

  • The instrument looks like a harpsichord, or a Renaissence Trasuntino.

  • Thank you, Simone, I love this piece. The sound of the spinet is absolutely gorgeous. It emphasizes the tonic and the lower harmonics. Very rich sound.
