Garageband with the Mac is much easier and you don't need 3 or 4 different software packages installed to make it work. It converts all podcasts into MP3 or M4a (for i-Tunes) for you without opening up or downloading different companies' software on your computer. Just a thought.
@clayteacher1 Does Garageband enable you to have other people on a podcast with you who aren't in the room, or do you need Skype or something for that?
@affiliatetip Garageband will work for anyone who is mic'd up to the computer. As long as the computer can pick up their voice, it will record it. Also, if you have a Mac server, you can use Podcast Capture which is really sweet. Only problem is that you can't edit anything or add your intro/outro music to in on this software.
oh ok,Thanks alot for answering. Also thanks for making this video.

Sorry to many questions?

@Rayphunk I don't take live callers - I have a co-host and I dial her in on Skype. Then I use a program called Pamela to record the show.

@troglodyte3344 which one... the standing mic that comes with the podcasting kit?
affiliatetip 1 year ago
@affiliatetip yeah the stand up one. I Use it to record dreamweaver tutorials for my other channel and I record through camtasia studio.
I was sick of not being able to move my head with the headphone mic i used to have and it would pick up my breathing too. So i got a stand up mic.
With the stand up mic I put a couple of socks over it to dampen what it picks up.

@troglodyte3344 cool - I am anxious to get started on the new mic - it will be easier to grab a quick drink while recording, too
