THis is the precise problem with some cold steel knives - the springs. I recently acquired the Pocket Bushman, and the spring on that Ram Lock - yes it want's to stay open, but when you try and close it - BANG it closes with 2 inches of space between the blade and handle - plenty of space, for let's say, a finger or two to get sliced.
@Dltn97 Yeah, the spy from TF2 has a knife called a balisong (you've probably heard of it called a "butterfly knife"). This knife in the video is simply something that looks like a balisong. Except that it opens extremely slowly (in fact, I don't think I've ever seen a pocket knife that takes that long to open), unlike a balisong (in the hands of an experienced user), and is no fun, also, even more so unlike a balisong. Also, tommie314101 makes a good point, this silly knife is pretty dangerous.
I've had a cold steel AK-47 in my pocket for YEARS now, and I don't even open it with one hand - I use the wave deployment, I just pull it out of my pocket. I've even done it in the presence of police officers.
I don't know what Lynn's talking about, Canada is fine with knife laws.
I'm from Europe (Bulgaria) and thanks God, we have no knive limitations - in the matter of fact it's hard to find a good switch blade, because of the american limitations. This knife is good, but with this kind of opening i can't see why you'll like to take it, except if you are a knife collector.
That's why it takes two clicks to close each handle. Yes, the handle you're holding may fold on you, but it will only fold halfway. Then you can reposition your hand and close it the rest of the way.
I have mine on the clip so the handles are outside of my pants or belt and I use one hadle and one hand

That's right! I'd like to add it to my collection too, but not from need ;)

Yeah, you're right of course, but i'd take a fixed blade knife for the tasks you've mentioned.

potentially very dangerous when closing, when you hold it on 1 handle and push the other, the handle your holding might fold on you
