  • @HeavyMetalLegend666 That's where you are wrong. "du hast mich gefragt" means "you asked me" there is not once the german word for hate in those lyrics

  • @Sam5236987410 isnt hate in german hasst? i thought it was

  • @notyurbitch yes but more of a sz which makes it haßt

  • @notyurbitch my german fiance says it is but it can also mean "has" depending on how you say it. It's all in context

  • @pixidediesslowly123 i see i see thanks for the help (and not being a dick about it)

  • You have a good taste for music. Keep up the good work man rock on !! =]]

  • Well let's explain: Du hast mich means "You have me" but also if you add an "s" -> Du hasst mich = You hate me ... BUT: The complete lyric is "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab' nichts gesagt" = "You asked me and I said nothing" ... the verb haben (have) is also an auxiliary for forming the perfect tense in German :) As a Rammstein fan and a German translator I am pretty sure that they completely "abused" the German language so as to give more meanings to the same few words.

  • Ja, dumm Amerikaner arschloch!!!!!!

  • The woman singing in English is From Texas. So I, from Virginia, pick up on her southern "twang" a good deal. Good voice though.

  • what southern twang can you hear? the singer-sharleen spiteri is not actually from texas, she sings in a band called texas and is from glasgow, scotland.

we don't really speak with a southern twang in glasgow..

  • good job! this is one of the best translations i've ever seen *thumbs up*.

but i would say " i cry silently into time" because softly = sanft!

  • I meant Lied, sorry ha ha ha

  • the song is amazing 5 *

  • really nice price

  • Herzeleid dot com has all rammsteins lyrics. Just go into google type "Rammstein" and it'll be the 3rd one down. All lyrics English and German.

  • where is the german into english translation? ^^

  • If you mean the english version of the song I don't think there is one. The only english translations I know of is Angel (Engel) and You Hate Me (Du Hast Mich)

  • Actually Du Hast Mich means You Have/Got Me.

  • Yes a good point, at the beginning you also can think that it means Du hast mich = you have me and not you hate me...But with the "mich gefragt" hast is the same like you have asked me... I always thought hasst makes more sense...

  • It's something you can hardly translate, like you can "do someboy" in two ways in english. They tried an effect. You should think first he's hating somebody and then it becomes clear that sb. has asked him. Btw: he was asked to marry somebody and said NO!

    Greetz from Germany

  • thats what ive always loved about rammstein, their lyrics gave you something to think about

  • You Hate Me (Du Hast Mich)

You Hate me = Dus Hasst mich (hast von haben und hasst von hassen)

  • actually it doesnt. LURK MOAR its you hate me

  • There's also America (Amerika, obv.)

  • there is a difference in the spelling of du hast (u have), and du hasst (longer s sound, meaning u hate).......i'm pretty sure that is correct, but i may be wrong.

  • You are right...It's a pretty good wordplay (play of words?) because as a german you first think he means du hasst mich = you hate me and then their is the addition du hast mich gefragt =you have asked me (You cant hear a difference between hasst and hast)

  • @rionde Du hast mich = you got me..

    Du har meg (norwegian)

  • @rionde must ruin this.... Hast = have Hasst = Hate

  • @sopf666 google translate

  • Niiice, spared me the trouble of translating all that to english for a friend ^^

    Great song btw.

  • igual yo la amo!!!

  • Such a beautiful song!

  • this is a good song

  • lol no im not german but i speak it XD

  • Hallo übersetzen nette rammstein Lieddose u dieses?

  • Another great Rammstein song!

  • can you translate to french... or espagnol... or maybe japanese??? It's a joke, I'm just a french buddy, able to speak english (not german) that like this song from rammstein and the translation. You should try to translate english parts of the song in german, that should be cool...

  • I'll give you German to French and English to German if I can find a way to get long comments on Youtube! Do you know how to do that?

  • write me at stuck. in. norcal (at) gmail (dot) com

(youtube won't let me write the actual addy) and I'll send you German to French, English to German.

  • this is awsome, thanks for translations

  • amo la cancion n_n
