They are at your mercy in that you could chase them with a bull whip for fun out of sight of others and off camera and they could not stop you from doing this. It may save my life by desensitizing my donkey to whatever may frighten it by getting the donkey used to the unexpected, get it? its for safety, for the donkey and for the rider. DUH!
i remember the first time i put a tarp on daisy's head - something that wouldve sent a horse over the edge, she just stood there. she couldn't see a thing but just stood there with her giant blue plastic hood on. LOL love the donks.
This is why I took up mammoth donkeys, I am too old to get hurt and a donkey is not going to let you get hurt! They learn so easily and give so much and ask for so little.
